Re: Who are your most overrated/hated players in NBA 2k9?
If I'm not mistaken Rondo averages 11,8,5,and 2 and is the best defender at the pg spot. He also shoots above 50%.
Rondo isn't a horrible shooter it's the fact that he doesn't shoot. He's also no a knockdown shooter it's not his game and never will be.
He's a PG not a SG.Rondo reminds me of Lawson for the Heels as he go they go and 10/10 that team wins because of great pg play.
I'd say that would be Chris Paul...Comment

I absolutely despise Josh "*** ****" Smith, with a searing, white hot rage that I cannot describe.
He defends and rebounds like Rodman in his prime, and can somehow score from just about anywhere between 15-22 feet.
Of course, heaven forbid he gets into the paint, you can pretty much forget it.
As far as players I least like using, Jameer Nelson makes me curse at my TV.Comment

Eh this is offtopic but Paul gambles way too much. So does Rondo though in my opinion.
Gambling gets you steals, but even the best players only average a couple of steals a game. All the times they gamble and miss though it usually results in an easy bucket for the other team or else they get fouledComment

Michael Redd is pretty frustrating to use. He's been the most difficult to shoot with up to this point in my NBA 2K9 gaming time.Comment

I think the best defensive PGs are the ones that can stay in front of their man. Limiting dribble penetration from the 1 greatly increases a team's defense overall. Unfortunately, PGs are faster than everyone else and the list of players that can actually do this is pretty slim. Rondo, Devin Harris maybe, Billups, Marcus Banks, Chalmers.Comment

Paul doesn't get his steals by gambling or playing the passing lanes... he mostly just undresses the guy right off of the dribble. I don't even really think it's close.Comment

This before or after the patch because the patch has slightly gimped the post game where Dwight wouldn't be able to back down for too long. I'd love to give him a tryin in the Association.
(Pre-Mavs 08) Jason Kidd>Rajon Rondo (EVER!!)
edit-Andrew Bogut also. He freaking is the second coming of Wilt or something. Cleans up the boards everytime, puts in the shots with no problems, and has a lot of defense to back it up.Comment

Re: Who are your most overrated/hated players in NBA 2k9?
Yeah Bogut is a beast in this game.
I'd have to agree with Gordon being hard to shoot with. In one of my franchises I shipped him in, shot about 4-26 over 3 games and quickly shipped him out again. Didn't exactly help my team chemistry but it was worth it. Can't shoot a lick with Marion either but i guess that is probably realistic with that terrible release he has.
I've found Dwight Howard to be a beast in this game. I'm 12 games into a season with the Magic and he's putting up 28ppg (leads league), 13+ boards (leads league), 6.5 assists (mainly passing out of double teams to Shard, Nelson, and Hedo for open 3's) and 2.3 bpg (3rd in the league). He's ahead of everyone by a country mile in the allstar voting as well....Comment

Originally posted by BrolicPeja F'N Stojakovic. I started an Association with the Hornets a few days ago, and this guy is a brick layer. Against the Warriors he goes 3-11 in threes, and against the Suns he goes 3-15 from everywhere on the floor. If he isn't knocking down threes, he becomes a liability because he doesn't play a lick of defense, and he goes soft driving to the hole. I dread what Lebron is going to do to him because I have the Cavs next on my schedule.

Re: Who are your most overrated/hated players in NBA 2k9?
Tony Parker.
It's easier for me to have Devin Harris be Tony Parker than it is for me to have Tony be himself. He takes his floaters from too deep into the lane. In real life, he'll start them beyond the FT line to get them over the D. In the game, too often he takes his floaters INTO the defense.
His pull up is really slow, so even when you beat people off of the dribble, you have to be perfect to get a mid range shot off. It can be done, but it's so much easier with Devin the Dude.Comment

Re: Who are your most overrated/hated players in NBA 2k9?
I know for me personally sometimes when I get a shooter that has high rating I tend to force shots with him and he ends up being awful.
I had Kareem Rush in my first season as the 76ers and his outside ratings are awesome but I get him the ball and try to shoot and miss, miss, miss. I lost him in Free Agency and this season traded Willie Green for James Jones from Miami and am having the same issue. He has an 88 3ball but this season he is shooting in the 20's from 3. That includes sim stats as well.
I don't know why but I always trade Willie Green. My new lineup is Miller, Iguodala, Young, Brand and Dalembert with Williams as the 6th man, Speights getting about 20 and Jones 16.
Now this season with Young as my starter at SF I can't shoot worth a crap with him whereas last season when he was coming off the bench he was money. But I don't want to bench him and bring in Williams because of Morale.
I love this game.Comment
