I'm going to try making covers of my own. I was wondering if anyone could tell me
1. How to get the pictures to look glossy
2. If it requires brushes which ones and do I have to dowload them.
3. Which version of photoshop should I use (I'm thinking of using CS2 since I have the most experience with that version)

You won't need any brushes for this. And I'm pretty sure CS2 would work fine. And to get the pictures to look glossy, try this:
Filter>Sharpen>Unsharp Mask... Set the amount to 97% and the radius to 15.
Image>Adjustments>Brightness/Contrast... +45 Brightness, -50 Contrast
Image>Adjustments>Hue/Saturation... +25 Saturation

Those exact numbers won't work all the time, you might have to play around with those depending on the image.

Yeah CS2 works fine. Just google Topaz Adjust 3. Unsharp mask honestly doesn't give much of an effect. Or join the site in my signature for other goodies.

^just thought it looked cool at the time, but good call I like it better now. I still don't love the pic though i keep looking for something better in press book, but i haven't found one yet.
