I'd rather Ronnie not announce something that may or may not come out on that date. I would rather he announce it if it is definitely coming out on that date or just post it when they release. That way fans like me excited for something and than disappointed when it does not come out on that date that was said it would come out.

Even though it doesn't really matter, the same employee said there would be news (he edited his post since then) on NBA 2K10 on Thursday, in his usual Tuesday announcements post.

...a lot of what is being announced is already in 2k.

There will be more to announce because there is more to include to get it up to snuff from an authenticity standpoint.

As for Ronnie... I say it time and time again, but people keep listening to him. So if you want to jump off the cliff don't get mad when you hit the ground.

Either way on October 6th, nba 2k10 will be on the shelves in stores. I just wish they would go a different way with marketing their games.

I can see why people listen to Ronnie. He's the only one who is close to 2K and interacts with the community on a regular basis. From the normally tight lipped 2K Sports, the interaction is welcoming to many I guess, seeing how interaction seems to generate so much interest from people.

I don't care either way, we will know what's up before the game is released.

The problem is his "info" always does more harm than good. If I had to throw out a %, I'd say about 80% of the time it's a disappointment, one way or another.

But like you said, it's all you have, unfortunately.

Because it's not an official statement, it's just some guy who works on the forums saying that something might happen. There's a reason why this wasn't on their website or announced by a pr person.

You are right... but it is "semi" official. He does have a hand in what tidbits the community are given.

Just typically does more harm than good.

Haha, let's see if they can live up to their epic publicity failure last year with all those coded announcements and bull**** like that. So ridiculous, just make a good game and then tell us about it... these games and crap just make them look bad. All that stuff last year was a waste of time and just added to my disappointment with the actual product... lots of buildup and little delivery.

And yeah, agreed that they should just stifle unless they have something to actually announce... otherwise it looks like they don't have their collective act together, having people announce something then recant it later that day.. It just seems really amateurish, and they're not an amateur company.

I was totally against that coded BS they did. I told them, dont do it, it was another moderator that came up with it. I told them no no no no no no no, but they went ahead with it anyways. beleive me, none of that stuff will happen again. lol

About the info, i know exactly what it is, and it was explained to me in full detail. You all will like it. Its prety darned cool. Can quote me on it come next week if you want too.

Heh, well that's good. They're off to an inauspicious start with another Ron announcement followed by a backtrack... seems like the communication between the front-line guys and the big wigs or PR people needs to get a little tighter so they don't tease the fans so much. Otherwise it just serves to piss off fans who were giving the game a fair shake otherwise... especially when the competition has already dropped two trailers and several articles/blogs showing their game, that kind of thing is damaging.

Hopefully things get rolling and we don't have any disasters like last year... haha, I still can't believe all the stuff they did pre-release.
