Seems like it would be a waste of an investment to purchase the rights and not fully put it to work. If its playable like MLB's minor league then I'm pretty excited about it but at the very least just allow me the roster flexibility.

In my opinion its the one layer of depth that has truly been lacking in Association. For myself and many others 2nd round picks became almost worthless because there has always been more motivation to stack your bench with FA's over unproven talents. D-league would give us a chance to develop that C or D potential player with a rating of 62 without sacrificing a roster spot for 3-4 years.

If done right it'll be big. Big for the value of the draft. Big for your depth chart. Big for long term potential. Big for how we go about building a team 5+ years down the road.

I'd love to see someone chim in. I don't even need anything too revealing. We know that in some form or fashion its in the game soooooo tell us "yes its in Association" or not. That's all I need.

I have some aprehensions about them not revealing the full scope of D-League. Unless we're speculating wrong and "create a pro" is as far as it'll go.

I really doubt D-League is gonna be in franchise mode. Extra commentary, extra stadiums..

*has no inside info just speculating like everyone else*

At the very least allow me to move players. I can live with "magical land D-league". I don't need it to be playable I just need it to somehow exist.

However I do think you're right.

I kinda feel the same way, I feel that the d-league should just be detailed enough where I can just enjoy improving my player or whatever. I don't think that they need to "go all out" with it and add all the courts, players, coaches, etc, etc. Summer league on the other hand should be very deep, because hopefully we'll get to use the summer league and all of it's features in Association mode.

Getting the D-League in franchise mode would be incredibly hard from a implementation standpoint.

The D-League is not like the baseball minor leagues. Teams SHARE affiliation therefore to program this you would have to have some recognition that this player belongs to two teams (NBA team, D-League team) then you would have to have him somehow be able to not get confused with other players from other teams. So the addition of player id/team id and a whole bunch of other variables are involved.

All I am saying is from a database-implementation standpoint this is much harder than it sounds. Especially tracking stats, trades and everything else.

Now if every team had a true D-league team it would be easier.

Sure ya do.. Happens alot before jerseys are soaked and even after. Its hard to see in real time.
