Re: Post Draft Combine Player Stats

I don't care if people cheese while playing against the computer. When they take it online and ruin the experience for their teammates and their opponents, that's when it gets annoying.

As a point guard, the cheesing I saw (and shamefully involved myself in) mainly had to do with the AI and the ratings of my opponents. Stealing inbounds passes, pressing and ripping the point guard, and constantly attacking the rim against smaller, weaker, slower, more unathletic players who were extremely bad at defense led to a ton of steals and easy layups/dunks.

I do not expect this to transition over to any other part of the My Player mode or the online play. If I try to play this way against a Chauncey Billups or a Baron Davis or any point guard over a 65 rating, I will most likely get crapped on and end up fouling out or finish with a horrible player grade.

I must admit, I was a little nervous about what you were going to do when I ran into you for a Team Up game the other day after seeing this thread. You actually played the PG position well though. You spread the ball around and took your shot opportunities when they were there.

My team fell to pieces in the second half once you guys changed your lineup, but I had to save my highlight of pump faking you with Haywood and driving to the bucket for a score. I doubt you remember it, but it was a beautiful thing lol.

I got a 6'0(real hight) Pass First point guard. 46 overall. Teammate Grade Average A+

          14.5 PPG
          10 AST
          1 RB
3.3 STL (thought my steal numbers were crazy, guess not)

Going 2nd round pick 16 to Cleveland Cavaliers, which is tight, backing up Mo Williams and maybe get some minutes with LeBron.

Anyone know weather your draft "projection" is were your gonna for sure or will it jump around?

I'm averaging 25 ppg, 17 rpg and 1.5 bpg Projected Draft, 2nd round 6th, pick Phoenix....
            teammate grade B+
            6'10 Rebounding Center...
I found later on an easy way to do layup even when a slow *** Center who can barely move 3 feet in 5 sec...

I was averaging 2 fouls per game, but most of my fouls came from trying to block people on fast breaks or big men in the paint.

I actually did remember that play, because afterward I remember thinking why TF did I jump at a Brendan Haywood three point pump fake.

I'm pretty sure those who are posting 30+ppg etc aren't playing true player-lock type of b-ball. They're ball hogging and forcing the pass to themselves, if they aren't the PG already and just hold the ball the whole time. Not fun that way.

6'4 pg, 184lbs. all around. [ i was going to go pass first but the starting attributes sucked in comparison.]

                    17ppg, 8.3rpg, 8.3apg, 2.2spg, .427fg%, 5/12 3pters, .882ft%.

draft projection: rd 2, pick 13. [miami heat]

this would be my post combine scouting report.

                    strengths.
good leadership qualities, excellent passer, team player, superb defensive rebounder for position. quick hands.

                    weaknesses.
inconsistent shooter/scorer. sometimes forces the issue, lacks physical toughness.

                      i agree to a point.
the game should be held accountable as well.

the grading system needs to be more conservative, and less rewarding in a few places.

things like doubling, steal swipe attempts, roaming [poor positioning], and poor shot selection should be penalized more.

i hope it is in the final build for 2k10.

i also think there should be more reward for staying in front of your man, this will definitely help those defensive types..

My first played was a 7'1" 265lbs "back to basket" C.
                          I had more or less realistic stats, 11ppg, 10.5rpg, 1.5apg, 2bpg.

Then i created a 6'8" Athletic SF and... i think i'm going to delete him just after 1 game, where i scored 28 points, 11 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 blocks, 78 FG %. It's so easy to score just on fast breaks or driving to the basket and then dunk/layup in front of 1 or 2 players.

I think i'm going to create a PG now, but i'm going to avoid the "athletic" type of player as i find it too cheesy with it's quickness, speed and leap.

Keep in mind that almost none of your ability to easily score against the computer is going to translate over to the real game. You're playing very, very weak computer opponents.

                                Ha ha ha!

My first player is/was a Face Up Power Forward. Not sure about the final stats, but I was like:

                                12 ppg
                                9 rpg
                                3 apg
                                35% FG
50% 3pt (yep, the big man can shoot!)
40% FT (just not from the easy spots)
Average team grade A-. I didn't get lower than a B+. I'm going to claim that all my player-lock days have paid off with in this area.

The only shots I took were when I had a lane to the hoop, I tried to drive, but I was too slow and rarely got close enough for a layup. Open jump shots and 3 pts, which happened a bit, which I'm happy about. In past games, a big man never got the ball at range.

I think I called for the ball once when I was wide open and it told me it was a bad call. I tried blocking shots, but just got called for fouls. My player sucks at blocking...not the mode, my actual created player sucks.
