Did you noticed he talked about help defense and defensive rotations!?

Awesome! I can't wait for this game to come out. I think that NBA 2k is bound for greatness.
When the game is on the line, winners want the ball.

while i DON'T agree and DON'T see your point i won't jack this GREAT thread with any back-and-forth on opinions...

        i'll just agree to disagree.

2K related: the "stretching" of ratings might have been one of the best things to happen to Sports Gaming in quite some time. i wondered what prompted it? too-high ratings has plagued Sports for too long and made superstars TOO GOOD and athletic guys like tyrus thomas, JR smith and greg oden much better than they should be...

more accurate ratings will fix many gameplay issues and having 5-6 guys in the 90+ Elite range can only be a good thing.

        i like it. ALOT.
NOTE: Any and ALL of my suggestions are specifically and only related to Play Now Online.

It really seems like there is going to be a lot more distinguishing characteristics between players this year from what we know thus far. I'm loving that.

          Think about it:

We have the whole 82Games integration this year. They have added 36 NEW tendencies...Damn... Their new ratings system, with the increased rating spectrum (Damn JJ dropped about 20 points from last year...lol) The ratings will go a long way in further separating the players. Different players having different "generic" animations assigned to them depending on height and skill level as mentioned in this article. Then they've added a few new sig shots (leaners, runners, lean left/right) as well as assigning every single shot, dribble, post move, etc, individually to each player instead of assigning an all or nothing package.

Plus, the combine has provided some proof that you will see some obvious differences in player styles. I haven't played the combine, but so many of you have said that the scrubs in that game play very differently in regards to the other scrubs. So it seems perfectly reasonable to expect the same thing in 2K10, which is going to be so much sweeter since we know how our favorite players play in real life.

Not to mention all the sig stuff they have in place already and little things like sig facial expressions and intros.

Really, REALLY, has me looking forward to seeing the separation in players this year. Sounds like the individuality in players is going to be HUGE this year. I'm definitely excited to see how well it turns out.

It's clear that players and teams will feer more authentic than ever. I'm super excited about the new animations, which have always been one of the strongest features from 2K.

Re: NBA 2K10: Bound for Greatness? (ESPN)

One important issue that you have not spoken of ... the "50" (why only that amount ?) players who would be able to create crews (with logos and everything) and compete online with their rosters of human players ...

... that was new and while we dont have a clue or any details about it, it defenitively sound promising !

With every new article that comes out my hype goes up and up, all those media covers, specialist and experts (includding OS) cant be wrong in the "good" way they are picturing the builds of the game they have been shown ...

And if you really think about it, looking to the solid foundation of the 2k franchise, this game would be amazing just for only fixing most (between you and me: not neccesarily all ... for 2k devs: yes, all !) of the issues we have complainned ...

                  So I am a sold for sure ! ...

if 82games is implemented correctly. i shouldnt have to..
We MAY have hope. I THINK I read somewhere that whoever did the CH 2K ratings is doing the ratings this year. No more 2K Insider if this is true
                      Concrete evidence/videos please

                        This all sounds great.

But the one thing we have not heard anything about is the playcalling and if there are real NBA sets. The Czar can tell you how great NBA Live did with this compared to 2k. This is my number one issue from last year and if they didn't address this then all this other stuff is pretty much fluff for me (individual players attributes and tendencies are secondary to the system they play in see Knicks under Isiah Thomas, feed the ball into the post, versus D'Antoni run and gun).

Man all of this sounds really good, but it just makes the wait that much harder. For the first time ever, I might be spending $130 on basketball games this year.

Along with NBA team sets, I hope they touched up the playcalling system as a whole. We need to be able to set who runs the play, and have multiple targets for each play. The players should move with more urgency and have sharper, dedicated movement. I'm hoping Live's excellent playcalling system pushed 2K to upgrade theirs.

To the words right out of my mouth. They have to have real plays and sets for this game to be great. Last year every team ran the same plays unless you went in a changed them yourself. I hope they added this stuff this year.
