Re: CCTV introduction 2K10
It doesn't, only people in denial can see that! I see 2k9 with new score overlay! And I'm beyond the 2k guy, but I won't sugar coat them with bull about it looking real. Looks like a video game that was out before but with additional edits.

Re: CCTV introduction 2K10
LMAO at the ppl saying it looks like 2k9.(Like that's a bad thing). 2k9's graphics was some of the best graphics ever in a video game period. And the guy that previewed the game from this site said that 2k10 was better. But the video was so far in the background it was hard to get a good view of the graphics.
And if you mean the players move like 2k9, then well duh...It is a 2k game. 2k already has the smoothness and fluidity in it's gameplay. There is no need to change much. Just tweaks here and there with the defensive ai, limit the sliding, controls, and fix some of the shot animations. 2k doesn't need to do a whole overhaul of there game like the competitor.
And according to the previews they have added things that weren't in 2k9. So I don't understand trying to disect like 10 secs worth of 2k10 gameplay.Comment

Re: CCTV introduction 2K10
So basically you are willing to spend your money on a game just because of footage? They both come out on the same date if I'm not mistaken, so you're not willing to just wait for the demo and then try it out for yourself? Why do you need to see footage now for? It doesn't make the game release any sooner. PATIENCE IS VIRTUE my man.Last edited by 23; 09-02-2009, 11:33 AM.Comment

But believe me, I'm a normal 2k guy so I'd love if 2k ended up winning me over. I just wish 2k wouldn't be so quiet about their games all the time.Last edited by 23; 09-02-2009, 11:35 AM.

Re: CCTV introduction 2K10
Bingo
Notice the way guards have left the corner man wide open to get ready to stop the ballhandler from driving.
Guards never did that in NBA 2K9. They stayed on their guy like freaking superglue.
That alone, to me anyway, shows a big imrpovement is "likely" to be forthcoming...................
Hard to tell just from that, but the spacing in that vid does look much improved. Nice.Comment

Re: CCTV introduction 2K10
Just play the demos or rent the games That will be more of a reasonable way to win a person over. Words and 500 videos by one company shouldn't do it.Comment

Re: CCTV introduction 2K10
Why do you think Live is releasing all these minuscule, (in my opinion) lame and boring videos? They know that they are behind 2K, well far behind. It's funny to see people over on the Live board get a hard-on every time one of these little "new feature" videos come out. I used to LOVE live, but ever since it touched the next gen systems (PS2/Xbox), it has gone downhill for me since. To see Dwight Howard hit a turnaround, fade-away 3 pointer within the first second of the video Pasta Padre posted up over there and to see the Q&A from Chase on 2K10, it put Live 2010 far behind 2K10. Regardless of the amount of video for this game so far, I think as more video comes out and the demos come out for the games, I feel people will see 2K on top yet again this yearComment

Re: CCTV introduction 2K10
Nice sneak peek, here's my observations.
First off, the court seems to be both a little wider and longer than in 2k9 (compared them just awhile ago myself). Players also seemed to be a tad smaller.
Oracle's court color a lighting looks much improved. The crowd is way too dark but that's probably just the video.
Lol at the guy saying yeah to no more blurry courts. Question: how can you possibly make this claim when the video itself is blurry?
The way the CPU pg waited for the player's to get to their spots.... waited for the wing to come free off the off-ball screen.... without make the slightest of movement looked very odd. He literally stood in one spot for nearly 8 seconds.
The guy guarding the man setting the off-ball pick seemed to be completely unaware of what was happening. Some sort of hedge/containment, or at least some recognition of the screen being set would have been nice to see.
The picker ends up running out of bounds trying to pop when in that situation he probably should've rolled to the basket......i know i'm nitpicking, just making observations.
A bit of warpage going on when the contact animation triggered.
I like how off-ball defenders are actually sagging off their man when the ball is on the opposite side off the court. Hopefully this means when I come off a pick at the top of the key, the guy guarding the corner man actually will rotate to cut off my driving lane which would open up a drive and kick game which was non-existent in 2k9.
Didn't like the way Maggette came off the down pick....lacking aggression.
I know I'm sounding a bit negative, but aside for the the better court lighting, improved spacing (which from what I've seen in this video, which I know is not much, is more due to the fact that court is larger and the player's are smaller, then your AI teammates being more aware of where the open spaces on the floor are) I don't see much here that would really get anyone too overly excited.
Hopefully we see some extended gameplay footage in the next couple weeks.Last edited by RipCity71252; 09-02-2009, 04:10 AM.Comment

Re: CCTV introduction 2K10
oh alright, I get what you mean. There are just some posters out there that make ridiculous threats and I thought you were one of them. lol. I really do hope 2K is amazing. If you actually look at the footage again. When the player is driving (before he gets fouled) the weak side defender shifts over to protect the lane. I guess defensive rotations really are in the game after all. It seemed as if there are team specific plays as well. Both plays looked different to me.Comment

Re: CCTV introduction 2K10
Also, i am not a graphics whore. I am perfectly find with good graphics if the game plays well. While i am not a graphics whore, the game does need to flow smoothly players need to look like players. Doesnt have to be perfect, but look smooth.
Again, if folks dont agree, thats not my problem now is it?Comment

Re: CCTV introduction 2K10
Originally posted by J.R. LockeBehindtheShadows you always mention EA's new technology but 2k implemented this real time enviroment that was by far the coolest graphical enhancement that any sports game has introduced.
EA tends to emphasize individual players and make them look great whereas the focus of 2k is to create an enviroment with all the bells and whistles in it. Maybe at a lower "wow" level but I think there graphics are hardly that far behind EA.
Anyway I wish we would all focus more on EA's huge, monumental advantage in the play calling system with real NBA sets! That is where EA's technological advantage is kicking 2k and take 2 in the nutsack.
For everyone else, my discussions are 100% on 2ksports, Visual Concepts and Take Two!
For everyone getting offended by my comments! Not you J.R. but previous posters and others! Grow up already! Not everyone is going to agree with you, I think the game needs improvements visually! This whole it animates good and the crowd from College Hoops is now giving the NBA more atmosphere is great! I'm talking about overall graphics, players not looking cartoon like, I'm talking about better skin textures and non jaggy models when they are running up and down the court.
Overall when seeing the game in motion, it plays like all other 2k basketball games, that's why so many peeps are familiar and comfortable with it. It's all the same! Time to really go to that next level and give us a new game already!
2k basketball style of play has been identical since NBA Action 98 on Sega Saturn...I know I own that too!
For all the jokers trying to throw the competition into every post! Talk about 2k10, talk about VC and TT! Stay on topic, because I'm not biting that bait....move on!Comment
