    @TRZKG,

Many people had difficulty controlling their player in the Combine, and a lot of people also hated the automatic repositioning of their player on defense. Can you speak to those two issues in the build that you played.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

@TheRealZo: Could you answer a couple of questions.

      - How many dunks did you see during the game? And is it still possible to dunk on 3 people?
      - What kind of shots do you have at your disposal and how do you perform them?
      - When you sub a player, do you see him take his warmups off??
      - Did you see any facial expressions?
      - In 2K9 scoring in the paint and scoring with the post moves was literally automatic. How's this in 2K10?
      - Are full-court passes still possible?

      And most importantly
      - While fast-breaking can your opponent slow you down with some kind of (steal attempting) animation and are the behind-the-back steals still in the game???

      Thanx Zo

Re: New 2K10 Previews + pics

So I had written this nice long response and then went to hit reply and the thing froze. Let me try to capture what I said the first time I wrote this, basically as far as controls go in NBA 2K10 Draft Combine, don't take those to be indicative of the controls in the actual game because they aren't. In combine, you are a young guy just trying to make a team, you probably have flashes of brilliance but you are raw. I think the controls were made to feel kind of loose on purpose, because you aren't an NBA player yet and haven't proved that you could be, so what a lot of people complained about I thought was actually that brilliant subtly that makes 2K so good.

As far as the automatic repositioning, I didn't notice that to much though what I did notice is that its much easier to stay in front of your man on defense this year, as basketball games go I think that it will always be hard to find a balance where the defense is good enough to be effective but not overly effective. Somebody may figure it out, but I think people will always thinks its too easy and if they make it harder people will say its unrealistic, its a catch-22.

Re: New 2K10 Previews + pics

How many dunks did you see during the game? And is it still possible to dunk on 3 people?
ZKG-So I saw lots of dunks, I was getting a lot of fast breaks so I was dunking a lot, even threw like two alley's. As far as dunking on folks, since I was usually on a breakaway I didn't dunk on three people but I did dunk on Shaq and Varejao with Kobe, so if I can do two I assume three would be possible.
          - What kind of shots do you have at your disposal and how do you perform them?
ZKG-I mean I don't want to talk to much about the stuff thats on our site, but we have all the trailers released for NBA 2K10 so far and all the stuff you see in the trailers, you really can do. I mean I had Kobe crossing over and then going to the rim and he of course has animations that are spot on, you will notice that players like Lebron and Kobe have their very unique shot animations and I assume that its like that for most of the stars on each team. As far as performing them, they didn't really change the controls that much and I am a PS3 guy and we played X-box so its kind of hard for me to describe that part properly.
          - When you sub a player, do you see him take his warmups off??
ZKG-We didn't make any subsitutions, starters played the whole game.
          - Did you see any facial expressions?
ZKG-The facial expressions are great, whether its when Kobe comes down and hits a big three and he gets that "its a wrap" look on his face, they got it. What's even more impressive as I said in the preview, you will want to take a look at the bench reaction after a nasty dunk or a nice crossover move they all react as well.
          - In 2K9 scoring in the paint and scoring with the post moves was literally automatic. How's this in 2K10?
ZKG-From the time I got in the post to play around with the post moves it wasn't automatic. Brian had Shaq in the post and did like a drop step and went up and I was able to get Bynum in their on a deflection. They really did a lot of work on the D this year to allow you to shadow your opponent and fight for position off the ball which I really like. As I said, I think when it comes to defense, someone's always not going to be happy.
          - Are full-court passes still possible?
ZKG-Yes, they are still possible, because they are possible in real life but the two times I tried it, the ball went out of bounds.
          And most importantly
          - While fast-breaking can your opponent slow you down with some kind of (steal attempting) animation and are the behind-the-back steals still in the game???
ZKG-That's a good question and I was able to get in front of Lebron with Artest and make him pull him on a few fast break attempts where I got back in time. Yes, behind the back or reach around steals are still in the game, I got one with Kobe within the first 3 minutes.

Hope I answered all your questions.

Good read and really appreciate the fact that you take the time to answer some questions even though some people complained about your article, thanks.

I'd like to post some questions here too if thats ok.

              - Is Kobes or Lebrons Jumper any different from those in the DC? Their jumpers looked kinda strange and they said they would fix that. Did you see any difference?

              - How was the spacing? I was suprised by how good it felt in the Combine, and to see the same thing happening for the final version would be a blast as it would finally implement a desperately needed midrange-game in the series. (Blocks au revoir!)

              - Did you see a typical Lebron-block from behind? Or maybe something else that completely got you feel great about the game like a nice called play, a fastbreak, a one-man-show from one of the star-players, anything?

              Every little info is appreciated

How were the player models this year? Were they more detailed and less stiff looking.

                        - Is Kobes or Lebrons Jumper any different from those in the DC? Their jumpers looked kinda strange and they said they would fix that. Did you see any difference?
ZKG-All of Kobe's and Lebron's jumpshots looked authentic, I was very happy with the animations and yes they did seem more fluid than in the Combine.

                        - How was the spacing? I was suprised by how good it felt in the Combine, and to see the same thing happening for the final version would be a blast as it would finally implement a desperately needed midrange-game in the series. (Blocks au revoir!)
ZKG-You actually make a good point that a lot of people miss about the spacing and you are right its good in the game the same way it was in the Combine. I love how people flash under the basket, come around off those rub screens, they definitely have some good movement in this year's game, it never felt like my guys were just standing their waiting for me to do something so it was easy to create because they were trying to get open. In the post I got a decent amount of blocks on plays that last year you wouldn't have which suprised me, so I would say its better this year. I think that "My Player" mode this year will give people a lot of pause, because it will force you to use that spacing to work within the offense to be successful, it won't be more popular than Association but I think a lot more people will give it a look or at least they should.

                        - Did you see a typical Lebron-block from behind? Or maybe something else that completely got you feel great about the game like a nice called play, a fastbreak, a one-man-show from one of the star-players, anything?
ZKG-I didn't see one though I asked Brian if chasedowns were in the game and he said yes so I am going to take his word on it. Don't know if I got it across, but the put back from Artest was the oh snap moment for me, I was just like that was just sick. In years past, to see a put back was rare and to see one that was more than a quick little putback from underneath was even rarer, but that doesn't seem to be the case this year as the A.I. should fill the lanes better opening up more opportunities for them. Also, the iso-motion just feels better this year, its less exaggerated, less arcade, its more subtle and realistic and you gotta love that.

ZKG-Oh yeah player models are much more fluid this year, as we said in the article take a look at how much detail they put into each character down to the hair its really amazing. As far as people's comments, its cool I mean they have their opinion and I can respect that. Im no ***%$!, I don't know everything and won't pretend to. If you ask me something, I will try my best to answer if I know and that's how I am I enjoy sharing information with other people and glad to have such interest about something, we cover everything PS3 so sometimes it all just blurs but you guys have great questions, so its good. To be fair, once the week kicks off I don't know if I will get over here to OS that much, so if you guys have more questions about this or some other game, could you drop it in a comment on my site since I get an email notice of every comment left there, I actually try to respond to every comment if it ask a question. Thanks guys and have a good week.
