Thanks for your 5 reasons. This really adds an element of strategy to the Association. I was only thinking of being able to make easier trades without going through all the hoops to make my Association match what was going on in the NBA. But having teams draft the right players based on need and not CPU poor logic is huge. And number #4 is also going to help keep teams with the good team chemistry by giving players the minutes they're supposed to have and managing roles correctly.

Re: What's good about controlling all 30 teams in Association?
All of the reasons stated above were great! But to sum it all up for myself, I love this game! I watch as many nba games as I can. And ist a dream to play every game, every day of the nba schedule. I'm sure alot of you are like me in that you like at least 3 to 5 nba teams or stars in the league. Being able to play with those teams fighting (earning) positions, awards, championships is just great. Plus if you have guys over they can jump into your association with there favorite teams and not skip a beat. I love this feature.Comment

Re: What's good about controlling all 30 teams in Association?
How much stuff will we allow to auto-mate?....I can't remember back to the 2k9's automate system.....Here are things I hope to be able to make audomatable
1. Resign coachs, trainers, scouts, etc
2. Scouting for NBA Draft
3. Re-signing free agents (only want to do the big Free Agents)
I would like to turn on the feature to auto-mate a bunch of teams and run some on my own....but I want the ability to control all.
A better question is what setbacks would there be in controlling all 30 teams?
For me it would be not being able to negotiate with computer on trades since I control the both teams."Don't complain about the show if the ticket is free."Comment

Re: What's good about controlling all 30 teams in Association?
Association- Control all 30 or stick with one?
<HR style="COLOR: #393939" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->Sorry if this has been touched on a few times....I just can't make up my mind on which one to do.
I was hoping that some people can give me the pro/con of doing this.
With controlling all 30 teams I look forward to doing what is best for every team and making moves that only make sense. This is something that the computer AI has not grasped on past games. (espeacially with the computer line ups)
The big drawback for me would be how much of this stuff can be auto-mated.....Can anyone who controlled 8 teams in 2k9 tell me about their experience.
Another thing that I would miss would be bidding against AI for FA, trading block and being offered trades.
In 2k9 you could already play any game on the NBA schedule even if it was not your association team so that is still cool.
I am just hoping that someone can made a great argument for or against it to help me make up my mind.
I am a stat junkie who is all about the Association mode (if only they get the simulated stats right)"Don't complain about the show if the ticket is free."Comment

Re: What's good about controlling all 30 teams in Association?
I control all 30 teams so that when I choose to be the Raptors as my main team, I can set the opponents starting lineup/minutes allocated to starters and bench players according to the average minutes per game according to ESPN.com. I just want to play the cpu opponents as realistic as possible (with the computer team playing the right players with the right set of minutes).
Also I can follow the real-life NBA transactions, make trades and place players on the IR during my association accordingly.2018-2019 NBA Champions!Comment

Re: What's good about controlling all 30 teams in Association?
I am thinking that controlling all 30 Teams is the only way to roll. Here is a list of what I see as the benifits.
1. Be the GM for every team. The human mind of the fan is still way ahead of the AI.
2. Control team trading (make trades that make sense)
3. FA's...A lot of the players will decline their option for a longer term deal.
4. Control playing time and linupes. (sit injured players with nagging injuries)
5. Draft the right players for each team and make sure the rookies get playing time.
On another note...Rookies will need to have their shot tendencys raised through the roof inorder for them to ever be elite scorers.
I do have a few questions since I am considering this route for the association this year....
1) how will you determine what trades to make in the future years of your association?
2) What things will you allow the cpu to 'sim' and what things will you pay attention to...i.e. let cpu change lineup for minor injuries or will you manage all lineup changes when injuries occur?
3) off season free agency - how will you do this for all 30 teams? (again seems overwhelming) maybe you have a more efficient way of doing this?
I am sure there are more questions but I wanted to get an idea or strategy from people that plan to do this that are mainly association players like myselfO.G. - Original Gamer '87 NES

Re: What's good about controlling all 30 teams in Association?
This is the only way I can play sports games, even with franchise mode king NFLHC09 the cpu logic was flawed.....
Reason I perfer NHL2k10 over NHL10 and this with NBA Live...I need to have control over the cpu....Even in Choops, even tho u cant control every team but aleast they let u set their lineups and edit their players.....
Ive been playing this way for soo long that its second nature and I will not have a problem with coming up with trades or to decide what team gets what free agent....My logic is better than the CPU....I never was a player that stack his team with all the stars so of course im going to be fair when it comes to controlling MY team...Comment

Re: What's good about controlling all 30 teams in Association?
My question is this, would we be able to control 30 teams at a certain point in the Association, then at our discretion revert back to one?
I ask because I don't want to control 30 teams for ten years.Comment

You can automate everything for 29 teams but still have control if you see a stupid trade or signingComment

Re: What's good about controlling all 30 teams in Association?
I have seen all the automated features that are present in 2k10 Association.
1. lineups
2. resign staff
3. scout players
4. trades
5. draft
What I am wondering is this...
If you are controlling all 30 teams can you select some teams to be automated and some not?
Or is it that when you select an automated feature that it is universal for all teams?"Don't complain about the show if the ticket is free."Comment

Re: What's good about controlling all 30 teams in Association?
Another plus point for controlling all 30 teams is fixing the fact that most players usually play all 82 games in 2k9 (starters and key role players anyway). The CPU would still play guys with minor injuries (sore back, shin splints etc.) but they would have drastically reduced ratings.
Being in control of all 30 teams will allow me to keep the injured players on the bench, in real life it's rare that a player plays unless he's a 100%, so i'll be able to fix this.Comment
