This happened to me about this time last year. At first I thought it was a software glitch too but I backed up all my save files to a USB. After formating everything and seeing that it still did not work, I called my gf to see if she still had a recipt because she gave me the PS3 for my Christmas present. She did not have a recipt but she had a credit card statement that showed the purchase and luckily I was still under the warranty so I went to the PS3 site and they went me a box and I sent it to them and they sent me a fixed PS3 within about a week. I havent had any problems since then.
I'm sure most people are not going shed a tear for me but I'm having a rough week.
My PS3 quit reading or even acknowledging discs (DVDs, Blu-Rays, or Games). The day I noticed this was the same day I pre-ordered and pre-paid for NBA 2k10.
Reading online that this error could be a software glitch, I thought it was a good idea to reset my PS3 to factory and reformat my system.
This did not work... causing me to lose all my game saves and caused delete 2k10's Draft Combine with its game save.
Don't cry for me, cause I'm already dead.
