Re: The Association - What do you want to know?
If you control all 30 teams in association mode, and set the distribution of mins for every team, does the CPU alter them after every Sunday just like in 2K9?
Mo - what are the options for the number of games to run at the beginning of starting a new Association?
Also, can you save in-game at any point, or do you have to save between quarterss
<style type="text/css"> <!-- @page { margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } --> </style>Question about free agency. Last couple of years of the 2k franchise cpu teams were able to sign free agents even if they didn't have cap space. For example, Ben Gordon would become a free agent and the New York Knicks would be over the cap but somehow offer him a contract worth 10 or 11 million and sign him. Never understood how this happened but it always did and this is just one example. Could you check and see if this is still the case. Its kinda unfair if you can't sign a free agent when your over the cap but the cpu teams can. Thanks in advance.
1) Do the contracts have a certain way of working?? For example in NBA 2k9, seems like every player rated 85 or higher that's under 30 years old was asking for a max contract. It also seemed that almost every that was rated 75-80 would ask for contracts that were worth around 6-8 million a year to come off the bench. Did they fix this?? Or is it now every player that is 80 overall is gonna ask for a max contract?
~ Boozer is rated 86, asking for ~98 mil / 5 years
~Joe Johnson rated 65, asking for ~85 mil/5
~ Ginobli rated 83, asking for 23 mil/2 yrs
~ Ray Allen rated 80, asking for 5 mil for 1 yr
~ Rudy Gay rated 80, asking for 82 mil / 5 yr
~ Shaq rated 80, asking for 2.5 mil / 1yr
2011
~Melo rated 91, asking for 100mil/5 yrs
~Gasol rated 87, asking for 77mil/4yrs
~Tony Parker rated 87, asking for 99mil/5yrs
~ Dirk rated 83, asking for 25 mil/2 yrs
~VC rated 81, asking for 9 mil/1 yr
~Stuckey rated 78, asking for 54 mil/4 yrs
2012
~Garnett rated 88, asking for 10 mi/1 yr
~ Mayo rated 86, asking for 85, mil/5yrs
~Eric Gordon rated 79, asking for 74mil/5yrs
~Artest rated 79, asking for 14mil/2yrs
~Beasley rated 78, asking for 74mil/5yrs
~Anthony Randolph rated 74, asking for 50mil/4yrs
I saw prospects in some screen shots that were an rated in the 80's. Does this happen often?? Do players that come into the game usually whind up in the mid-high 90's or is it rare?
4) I doubt this but it'd be a nice feature. Are you allowed to create a team and bring them into the NBA as an expansion team? Once again I know this is most likely NO.'
3)Are there finally rare stars who were drafted in the late first round/ second round picks?? Like do any of these players become great at all?
5) Do some players/prospects get a really high rating and not do much?? In nba 2k9 I've had players rated from 90-95 and average like 8 ppg and 5 rpg... I think that's ridiculous, and they ask for max contracts.
6)to start the game off there are 4 players rated in the 90's and 39 rated in the 80's... 3 years into the game, how many 90's and how many 80's are there??
<style type="text/css"> <!-- @page { margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } --> </style>Is the championship celebration the same or better? How about reaching the finals? Is there any team celebration for that?
2. Do indivdual teams have a trophy case section, where you can view the championship trophies?
2.) No
<style type="text/css"> <!-- @page { margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } --> </style> Does every point guard play like chris paul (dominating the ball, best court vision, rarely shoot when they're a shoot 1st like AI), causing them to generate an insane amount of apg (therefore creating screwed stats in association)?
So if this year is like last year with so many coahces getting fired, what can we do about it? Us people that like to update their own rosters? Are we out of luck again?
While you are in the Draft Class portion of Association mode, they show an overall rating for those prospects BEFORE they get drafted. Now, does this overall rating remain the same for each player AFTER they get drafted?-
Stats: Is there a tracker for individual player double doubles and triple doubles like Online Leagues had in 2K9?
<style type="text/css"> <!-- @page { margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } --></style>1) It is said they have league leaders for every year and stuff, does it whind up erasing the older years stats as it goes by. for example all those leaders from the 70/80s, are they dissapearing the more you sim?
<style type="text/css"> <!-- @page { margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } --> </style>
2) Do they have franchise records like franchise leaders in points, rebounds,assists and other categories. Last year they only had those stats for one game.
<style type="text/css"> <!-- @page { margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } --> </style>
3) Do they give you a list of all career leaders so you can see where players stand? Like last year I saw over 5 people who beet Kareem's scoring record, Is there like a top 10 so you can see who are the top 10 all-time scorer's and stuff for other categories?
<style type="text/css"> <!-- @page { margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } --> </style>
<style type="text/css"> <!-- @page { margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } --> </style> 2.) No. Under the league history screen you can view League Leaders, Past Champions, Team history, and Season Awards.
3.) Where was this last year? I don't see any sort of list that shows you TOTAL points.
Sorry if this was asked Mo, but how is David stern and MSG implemented in the draft?
No virtual David Stern in Association this year.
s it possible to choose which teams you want to control after you start up Association mode? Say I choose to be the Celtics, but I see a team with a very good shooting guard sign another good shooting guard to an expensive contract or draft a future superstar at the same position. Could I take control of that team long enough to clear up their logjam while maintaining control over my original team, or will I need to save an extra game at the beginning of every offseason again?
<style type="text/css"> <!-- @page { margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } --> </style>How are the weekly practices this year?
<style type="text/css"> <!-- @page { margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } --> </style>When you scout Rookies they have the same black and white
jerseys?
<style type="text/css"> <!-- @page { margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } --> </style>Mo, as soon as you enter the playoffs, does the regular season standings get disabled like last year?
<style type="text/css"> <!-- @page { margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } --> </style>Question: Will players who are injured in real life actually be injured after roster updates or will they simply be put at the bottom of the depth chart like last year? I apologize if you are unable to answer this question atm.
<style type="text/css"> <!-- @page { margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } --> </style>what are the ratings range of generated rookies?
if i remember the screenshots correctly there are a couple of rookies rated 80 & above.. i think they're too high..
<style type="text/css"> <!-- @page { margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } --> </style> Mo...
Do you see any difference in player progression this year?
Just curious as that's been mentioned as one of their new features.
Difference in what? Who's progressing? How they're progressing? I haven't seen anything outstanding. I would need to look at the minutes guys are playing, how many games they're playing etc to give a better answer.
I drafted a a guy named J.Rivera(PF) @ 77 in 2010, it's now 2013 and he has progressed to 81. Unfortunately he's "had enough with Sacramento" and has decided to leave in the off-season..lol He's played in 234 over a 3 year span @ ~14 MPG. Not sure if that's what your looking for, T. Let me know. I'll be able to give a better answer once I'm further down the road and the big names start retiring.
<style type="text/css"> <!-- @page { margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } --> </style>I have a very important question. In 2k9 the generated rookies shooting tendencies were all messed up. There could be a shooting guard rated 80 with 90 potential but shot tendency is 51. So if he became a 90 overall he still would average like 10 points because his shot tendency did not increase. Did they fix rookies shooting tendencies?
You can edit anyone's tendencies if you don't like them.
Will Clark and Kevin still be talking about the same fluff commentary five or six years down the road? Has anything been done to make the drafted players feel more important as they become more important (kind of another way or asking #2)
<style type="text/css"> <!-- @page { margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } --> &</style>Question for Mo: Has the asking price for the lower-level free agents been fixed or toned down? I would always get a tad bit frustrated in 2k9 when a guy like Dee Brown or Orien Greene would demand $2-4 million per year, when in reality they would be lucky to obtain minimum contracts. Has this been addressed in 2k10?
Rafer Alston rated 70, asking for 737K/1yr
Steve Blake rated 70, asking for 1.8mil/1yr
Louis Williams rated 69, asking for 2.2mil/1yr
Brandon Bass rated 68, asking for 2mil/1yr
Wayne Ellington rated 68, asking for 1.22mil/1yr
The lowest rated FA (Damon Jones), rated 41, asking for 484K.
The highest I see is ~2mil.
In the MVP race, are there 5 players from different teams or are there multiple players from the team that is leading the league. This happened in 2k9
<style type="text/css"> <!-- @page { margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } --> </style>. Are there still the same problems like last year individuals simmed stats (huge FG%, few RBS, lots of AST) ?
2. If so, is there any coaches FA pool (be it with real life unhired coaches and/or created ones) ?
Can we edit the created ones ?
Can we promote asistant coaches to coaches ?
Besides the FA pool, is there any Retirement pool where you can put the players that retire whitin the season, so they wont be consider as FA´s for the next season and we wont have to alter their ratings to avoid that (this could also be used to place the players that went to Europe with multiyear contracts) ?
Are there any weird simmed team stats (like PHI leading the league in 3pts made) ?
Can you post shots of the league leaders and the team stats ?
Real quick on the rookie generation code. This is all-new this year. Players should now have tendencies respective to their positions (no more high rated SGs with ridiculously bad tendencies). You'll also notice that not every PF/C is a 6'11+ 260+ build either. There is a lot more versatility in the players, their sizes, and their skillsets.
The draft classes are generated in such a fashion that there are weak classes, average classes, and strong classes. There is also a very small percentage that a 'special' player will appear in any of the classes. Every class should have at least a few good players who can step right in and contribute to a team in need.
I think we did a good job on these new classes, though there might be a few too many decent/good players when the 'good' classes come along. That's my early intuition anyhow. I'll be curious to hear feedback from you guys once you've spent some time with it.Originally posted by MomentousCelticYes, at the beggining of each year you will be asked if you would like to auto generate the draft class, load the draft class, or create/edit the draft class.PPG seem to get really high in the later years. There are too many guys averaging over 30 points. Durant, LeBron, Wade, Granger, Roy, and Devin Harris. I know these guys are talented but I think that may be a bit out of whack.
Also would like to see some more nagging injuries. Just little things that keep guys out a game or two. Right now too many guys are playing in all 82 games.Nodima, still not sure about the commentary for generated players, It broke on me earlier. They were talking about the Lyle Cameron, a generated rookie who's averaging 25 a game, but they called him Travis Diener.
I also heard them talking about Evans as if he just came into the league. Harlan said something along the lines of "And there's Tyreke Evans the great young player out of Memphis", Clark went on to say how well he's been coached etc etc
...only problem is he isn't really "young" anymore. I'm in 2018.
It looks like there may be a few bugs commentary wise down the road. The generated guys are acknowledged though, they just have to be doing something substantial for Kev & Clark to talk about. I'll keep playing and let you know.Last edited by eDotd; 09-28-2009, 11:09 PM.

So are we still stuck with the repetitive rookie faces where 5 years down the road you end up with 4 dudes who look like Kerry Kittles?PS4 - CoastalRyan

Re: The Association - What do you want to know?
1. Do the handles/passing rating have any effect on simmed turnovers?
2. Does durability show any effect on simmed player injuries? As in, will someone with low durability that gets injured while simming either be out for longer periods of time or have more serious injuries than someone with a higher durability?
3. After you finished each season of yours, if you ever remember, did you remember seeing team records? How many 50 win teams were there? Were dominant teams' win totals in the high 50s-60s and terrible teams in the high teens-low 20s? Last year I felt like there weren't many 50 win teams with no one real dominant team, and no team anyone could just beat up on.
I saw an association pic of either yours or Steve's (can't remember) team standings at the end of the year and noticed the worst team had wins in the mid-high 20s, but I was just wondering if they were like that for every season you simmed or if they just happened to be for that season.Comment

Re: The Association - What do you want to know?
Can we start an association and right after the first year ends....can we load a draft class that someone else has created into our franchise? Or do we have to start that franchise with the class already loaded?
Because I know people on here will create great draft classes and I'd like to have that.PSN - MikeDG719Comment

Re: The Association - What do you want to know?
You can load a draft class at the beginning of every year.

Re: The Association - What do you want to know?
Well shoot.....that just about covers everything....Thanks brother!!!
What I would be more interested in hearing about now is how your franchise is going? Things like...
1. Who is winning titles in your chise?
2 Who is making the all-nba team year after year.
3. I D-Wade and LBJ leading the league in scoring year after year.
I think that just about all the game info is out there now thanks to our brothers at OS...I am just curious for a Association story.
Thanks a million Mo....After reading all this I am definilty more pumped for this game."Don't complain about the show if the ticket is free."Comment
