If I was rolling with the Rockets (which I will be as I am controling all 30 teams) here is what I would do.

-Trade Battier to a contender for young players/draft pick
-Move Ariza to the SF spot and grab a better ball handler for the 2 spot.
-Let McGrady's expiring 21million go off the books

After looking at the Rockets roster they are really small at the PF and Center postion. (unless you have Yao playing healthy in your association). Hell, I think that this team needs to blow up and rebuild both in 2k and in real life.

To the OP: You're using the Cavs for your association because the CPU does good with LeBron? Makes no sense.

Your plan is very similar to mine.

1. Trade Battier for an expiring and a pick.
2. Couple my picks to try and move up in the draft and get a future superstar swingman.
3. Re-sign Mcgrady at about 6 million a year (I know you say let him expire, but he's a steal at a little over the MLE).
4. Use the rest of the cap space to sign a quality backup Center in Free Agency.
5. Build up my young core.

Yao/ Free Agent/ Anderson
Scola/ Landry/ Hayes
Ariza/ Buddinger
McGrady/ Rookie/ Taylor
Brooks/ Lowry

D-League: Dorsey/ Mensah-Bonsu
