Is there an isomotion tutorial on youtube somewhere? I knew how to pull off all the moves in 2k9 but this seems a little different...

The L2 is switched with the R2 button. A better meaning..."Basic moves are mapped in L2. Advanced move are mapped in R2"

A couple of good things (despite my utter furious anger towards 2k's servers...which are down AGAIN)

        1. The generic shoes this year all have team colors on them, which is a nice touch from the earlier years of all white or all blacks. Much less of a generic feel though i'm sure the roster makers out there will get everyones kicks right since almost all the brands are present

        2. The good CPU PG's break you down man. I couldn't keep CP3 out the lane for nothing, i was using the warriors though and well thats how they play D.

I wish i could comment more on NBA today besides the one game i was able to play but THE SERVERS ARE EFFING DOWN.

I'm done with this version of the game due to the issues with the servers, framerate and points in the paint still being unfixed. I have a good relationship with my Gamestop and they are going to let me return my Anniversary edition for full store credit tonight, which I'll use to get the pc version,NCAA Basketball 10 and probably lay the rest towards The SHOW 2010

2k can make great games , but they botch releases like no other.Hopefully the pc launch will not be such a problem

Why don't you just wait for the first patch? I mean the game is only a few days old. You couldn't have played more 100 CPU games and 50 humans. Because last night as I was playing. I felt a lot more comfortable contesting shots in the paint.

Re: Official NBA 2k10 Impressions Thread

I take back what I said about the player movement earlier, the player movement on defence is fine and the reason I was getting beat on the quick cuts by CPU bigs into the paint for the lead pass because the stupid CPU assist was still on.

The main problem is even after you set coaching settings to manual and CPU assist to 0 in the main settings you still have to do it every game. When I looked on controller controls when I played a quick game after I got beat a few times again on simple cuts when my player was unabl to move, I was pleasantly surprised that the CPU assist was still on because if it was at 0 Id probably return the game because the lead pass is that frustrating to me.

I just played a great game, with TOR vs ORL. VC had 19 pts in the 1st half vs me but I limited him to 6 in the 2nd half. ORL was up 1 with 2 minutes left when I ran a pick and roll with Hedo and Bosh, Bargs slipped out to the top of the 3 point arc and hit over VC and Howard who both ran at him late. The crowd exploded and it was probably the first time that Ive played 2k that I was literally excited that a huge shot went in like I woudl be in real life if I was watching.

Nelson tied it with a 3 pter after I stupidly sagged onto Howard, but then on the next possession ORL switched on the pick and roll with Barnes on Bosh, they doubled on the baseline, Demar went backdoor for an AMAZING alley oop and the Raptors won by 4 in the end 93-89. The team stats were spot on, only thing I can complain about is ORLs limited turnovers(5), and them not feeding Howard a lot in the 1st half but VC was on fire so no big deal there. They got him the ball a lot more in the 2nd half.

I'm very very pleased with the game again. Now if they could only get the server up, I'm itching to play teamup on PS3 without lag, so they claim.

Re: Official NBA 2k10 Impressions Thread

A few impressions after playing a few games:

(+) Graphics are a lot more improved than I actually thought. After playing the demo I had the impression not much had really been improved. Player emotions are very good, although sometimes the expressions don't fit the player faces well.

(+) Animations are smooth and top-notch. When you play this game like real basketball and don't go wildly on the sticks trying to do ridiculous Isomotion moves, you rarely see much sliding or hitches.

(+) This game has taken their feature set into BEAST mode. When I first started up the game with a couple friends we were almost overwhelmed by the amount of features available to us. Hopefully 2K patches up some of the glitches/issues some of you are mentioning so I can go full throttle with all of them.

(+) Commentary is INCREDIBLE. It really flows well throughout the game, and I love how natural it all sounds. You really get the idea that they're both in the booth together finally.

(-) Shooting %s are still WAY too high. Even after I used Pared's offensive sliders, neither me nor the CPU had any trouble shooting in the mid to high 50% range in our games. I attribute most of this to the HIGHLY unrealistic amount of points in the paint. The lead passing into the paint is still as cheesy as ever, 2K really needs to improve this aspect of their games.

(-) CPU teammates are absolutely IDIOTIC. They are constantly leaving their men in the paint to play unnecessary help defense on a guy in the perimeter. On top of that, they also seem to get a bit confused when guarding along the perimeter, which leaves too many wide open shots. I don't know why 2K didn't just completely rebuild their defensive AI logic to take care of these obvious issues (especially the PITP).

(-) I'm still seeing a lack of true control/responsiveness when playing this game. I think the Isomotion system needs to be reanalyzed because I think it's still a bit unresponsive for my tastes. I feel like I can't pull off the moves I truly want to in certain situations. Also, it seems like the shooting mechanics are not related to a timing aspect on the release anymore. I know 2K worked on speeding up the shots, but it almost seems as though it comes at the expense of controllability. No matter when I decide to release the shoot button, the player shoots it at the same release and jumping point.

(-) Does anyone else have the issue when you call a play and your ball handler is unable to move for a few seconds? I don't know how apparent it is, but I get really frustrated when I'm trying to set up a play with my PG and after it is initiated my player goes into an animation in which he's directing the play, but I am not able to move my player during the sequence.

(-) Minor issue, but why are the players not actually TOUCHING the basketball? It is really apparent during free throws and dunks (in replays), but there is a very noticeable amount of space between the players hands and the basketball itself. I thought this was fixed in 2K9? If not, these are powerful consoles this stuff shouldn't even be an issue anymore.

Why wait when I can turn it into something I want BAD(NCAA 2010), something I was already going to get(2k10 on pc--MODS!!!!!) plus a new copy of FIFA 09? I'll play association on pc because of NBA Today and Dynamic commentary but after 48 hours my head to head play will be played on the competition and then of the college game

Not giving up on it, my original plan was Live on PS3 and 2k on pc..I'm just going back to that

                      Question:

In team up online, if youre not the PG, is there a way to take off CPU assist? I just played my first team up game as KG and I couldnt ****ing move to be able to stop the lead pass to Bosh. KG got stuck and once he got unstuck he ran hard in the direction I was pointing and didnt stop. How the hell do you turn that crap off online?

Im loving the fact that the cross-overs are momentum based.. no turbo.. what i hate is the fact that the servers.. are ****ED up.. this game is the truth.. since 2k7.. its taken me a week or two for the following release to grow on me.. for 2k10 i loved it right out of the box.. it is not without faults.. but that atmosphere is phenomenal.. the commentary is beautiful(minus the corny Kellog phrases) its could be worse we could have Walt Clyde Frazier.

This game has got unbelievable depth.

Tonnes of small things done right. Rebounding = best ever. Blocking = best ever.

I don't think people are going to really appreciate this game for another week or two. At that point, I think it will become pretty clear.

As someone who is playing both games...one BIG plus for this game is that guys like LeBron...Lamar...Kobe...all carry the ball and initiate the offense.

In the other game, point guards still carry the ball up 90% of the time unless off a rebound.

For me anyway, this type os "small detail" is a major factor in why this is the best game this season.

I'm liking this game especially My Player, but the haphazard control response and the framerate issue really brings this game down for me. Hopefully they patch it and becomes much smoother.
