I dont have the game yet, but last year turning off instant replays and cutscenes made the frame rates smoother. may be worth a try. can anyone tell me if cycle cams are back?

      Re: Frame Rate Issues

i am not getting horrible frame rate issues. I mean at times during cutscenes it may slow down, but other then that, its been smooth for me both on ps3 and 360, but i play on 2K cam.

The only time I see lag is when there is a lot of action going on in the paint.

Dude..this is why im gonna go with live i believe this year... the ONLY playable cam is the broadcast cam..while its not that bad..still some framerate issues but its pretty smooth..but the second you use a closer cam like say 2k cam or even adjust the zoom on the broadcast cam..the game is unplayable..and i dont like broadcast cam, i like behind the player view like 2k cam.

I just cant believe 2k didnt fix this crap this year..it has nothing to do with the power of the consoles neither..this was the same thing with last years pc version of 2k9..i ran it on my pc with 8gb ram, Qx9650 Quad overclocked to 4.6ghz and a ATI 4870X2 2gb videocard..i had the same freaking framerate issues...its the engine, its not optmized what so ever..its time for a new engine VC!!!

Im pissed off because i was really looking forward to 2k10 because i had put my money on the fact that there was no way they would let this slide by again and i was wrong..its there again and worse then last year.

And isnt that type of situation on a bball game pretty frequent? Thats the problem..it hurts the gameplay bigtime and what baffles me is that the game reviewers turn their head about this glarring issue..if they remove points for this..i think VC would be quicker to fix this issue.

ok good news..like someone else mentioned..clearing the CACHE helps bigtime..atleast for me it did. All you gotta do is go into system settings, memory and press yellow button on your hdd. Now 2k cam is totally playable..thank goodness!!

After clearing my cache, I have only noticed a TINY bit of slowdown, AND I play on the broadcast view zoomed to 10 height 2 without key zoom, so I can see the guys spotting up after a post up (kick out)

I'm not really a tech guy so I'm not 100% sure but I think it clears out all the temporary data stored on the hard drive. Programs like games fill up the cache with stuff to help them run smoother and deleting it won't affect your saves. Like I said, not a very technical explanation but there you go.

Bah..its still there..it was because i was using a different stadium..seems like depending on which stadium your playing in..has the big impact on the framerate... ****, hope they can fix this with a patch

It also deletes all game patches. So just be prepared to re-download any that you may have. Not a big deal, but a lot of people mistakenly think that games have new patches after they clear their cache. It's a good thing to do routinely about once every few months. If you've never cleared it before there could be patches and game caches in there from stuff 3-4 years ago. It takes up room and can become corrupt leading to problems if you let it add up over time.
