I didnt really know cause in the combine and summer league I didnt try and rebound I ran the floor so I could get the SP for fastbreak and dunks and ****. as a PG im currently avging 23.3 ppg 6.9 rpg 11. apg and 2.3 steals....my numbers are gawdy but I already started and im not going back to change the sliders. my scores stay semi low. I lead the league in PPG at like 109 so its just kinda like I run a up tempo team.
One thing about getting points for the "fast break", "good shot selection" and that stuff, once you get the A+ you get nothing for those. By that point you only get points for actual production. I don't know about you but I often get to the A+ pretty early and don't have to worry about it for most of the game.

I am currently tied with martin averaging 25.9 a game and leading the team with 10.1 boards and 7.7 assists. I am actually starting to play pretty well for being on HOF and am good enough to handle most of my assignments and I just hit the game winner to beat utah stripping deron and making a breakaway layup with 2 seconds left. It was pretty exciting, this game causes way more excitement than any basketball video game I have ever played.

I have just gotten up to the top of the ROY list and am 3rd in the running for 6th man too. Pretty good I think since I intentionally went to the DL and spent over a month there so I have only played like 22 or 23 games in the NBA and most others have 45 or so.

One,.. imagine how players feel in REAL LIFE. Wow, it's gotta be frustrating. Two, you play well, think about it. You're basically in the same spot Lebron was going to the Cavaliers. The CPU's trading and draft logic isn't horrendous. They make some,.. acceptable, choices at times. Within 4 years you can have a team that has been put together with YOU as the centerpeice. It could work out to your benefit. Sure I may be in the playoffs or possible win a championship before you,.. possibly. But, I am an addition to this team,.. right now, Joe Johnson is the face of the Hawks, despite the fact I'm playing better. It's like when Jermaine O'Neal came into his own and Reggie Miller was aging. JO could have went to 10 consecutive All-Star games,.. but as long as he played,.. Reggie Miller was the face of the Pacers. (Yes of course I'm from Indy) lol.

Right now you have the opportunity to become that franchise player, the face of the new and improved, "contender", Sacramento Kings.
I agree, the CPU usually in my experience has done a good job getting players for me. I have heard some complaints on here but they seem to usually find a way to improve the team through trades. I am just hopeful that at some point before the deadline we can pick up one more piece to make a good playoff run.

As for matthewj, odd that in mine we traded off beno opening up the PG spot with noone other than sergio and chucky to fill in yet in yours they seem to want to stay 4 deep and keep it stacked in front of you. We signed chucky too by the way. Really looking for them to thin out the 2 spot as we are too stacked there. If you are only 30 games in though then I would say wait till it gets closer to the deadline, there is a decent chance that they will make some moves.

I hate Beno I get moved to the 2 alot so he can play and almost always the first thing he does is get a backcourt violation it frustrates me. If he goes a game without one I am floored...I wish they would trade Beno and get me a real big to work with. Id part with anyone on that team except maybe Thompson. ill concede Martin if I get a big only cause Evans was drafted for a reason might as well use him.

I dont do the run the break thing anymore just when I was in the combine and summer league. Now I crash the boards to no end.

          Pabryant,

I agree with you about being the centerpiece and its one of the things ive thought about cause it wouldnt be me going to a team that has pieces and starting a dynasty. It would be me being the dynasty. If they made some personel changes to the kings id be happy to stay but they have so many bad contracts. Beno, Nocioni(who isnt bad) and Kevin Martin(11 mil? for real?!) In My Player season Brandan Bass was traded to the 76ers I want the Kings to bring me Dalembert I dont need his scoring but I want his blocks and rebounding my team averages like 4 blocks a game its pathetic.

A valid point about thinking about this in RL terms. Do you honestly think Blake Griffin wanted to be a Clipper? I mean on paper the Clippers compete but in the end its still the Clippers.

Beno didn't bother me too much, all pgs do the whole backcourt violation thing almost to the point I want to just turn off the backcourt violation altogether. The guy on the team who really bothers me is evans as he takes a lot of shots and doesn't make a whole lot. I figure they gave him high shooting tendencies to cause him to turn into a star but that is my job so I don't need him to do it. Martin does this a little but atleast he is to the point now where he can make them and help us win and now we are up to a tie for 7th in the conference so I am looking for a playoff berth this year where we will get destroyed by either denver or LA or someone.

As for crashing the boards, I do about 2/3 of the time, more if I am playing SF or PF, and try to get out on the break every now and then. The one time I really use the break is if my shots aren't falling and I need an easy bucket.

              Re: My Player Progression Strategy

I had no idea about the NBA headlines talking about our players signing contracts. I never even bothered to pay attention to it.

I started out my career with the Mavericks (SF), and even though we won the championship I never really liked the squad. They're TERRIBLE on defense and they're all a bunch of chuckers. In spite of that I decided that I was going to try and repeat there and fulfill my imaginary rookie contract until the end of the season when they weren't even an option. I didn't even think about saving and reloading so out of the choices between Lakers, Celtics, Nuggets, and Nets I chose the nets in a heartbeat. It wasn't until I got there that I realized that they got Boozer as a FA. The D on this team is top-notch (or at least as good as the CPU can defend itself).

I'm just past the halfway point of my third season and I'm practically maxed out. After that I'm gonna continue my next guy - Fishface Jackson 7'3" C from Navy.

i feel that the CPU isn't giving me the ball as much as a few games back. anyone else experienced this? i'm not a ball hog, but running around the offensive end of the court for majority of the quarter trying to get open spots is a bit silly when the CPU rarely gives you the ball with good passes. plus that's a big opportunity to get positive teammate grade wasted.

(i don't ask for passes 'coz they often give me "Bad Call for Passes" most of the time, so I would like to avoid that if possible)

The goals are alright too being up to 200 points but some are just unreasonable like hold your matchup to 2 points when you come off the bench and are guarding bron for most of your 34 minutes.

The performance points and highlight reel points are the real variable though. With a shorter player picking up 400 or even 500 performance points isn't too unreasonable. I have even had 600 a couple times. Also, any dunk, ally oop(passing or finishing), and-one, score or assist off of a dribble move, or steal or dunk leading to a basket are worth an extra 10 points. I have had as many as 4 just on one play making a free 40 points. These are what really seperates those who progress at an average rate and those who really skyrocket from what I can see.
yes, my goal now is really not to win games but to get A+s. and so far, the highest that i've got was 1.7kish SPs with a 6'3 SG.

Oh, the height really does factor a ton into SP... I was wondering why my roommate's 6'3" PG was getting 300+ SP in a good game while my 7'5" C was getting around 50 SP for his double doubles. 6'3" is still a great size for a PG though, would I be seeing huge increases in SP if my C was just 7'1"?

Putting up 20/10/2 with a 7'2" center I was getting 200+ every game and had several 300+, some 400+. It is the height within the position so 7'1" being 4 inches from the biggest a center can be it is actually about equal to a 6'3" PG.

As a post player they will usually give you the ball quite a bit without calling for it. As a perimeter player you sometimes need to call for it more. One big advantage you do get from winning games though, making the playoffs will give you a few more games which can really give a boost to your points. Also, winning games will help with awards and all-nba teams and whatnot later in your career when you are competing for them which can lead into reaching milestones which can be worth a lot of points.

About those contracts, what would mine be if I was drafted in the 1st Round pick number 20 by the Jazz?

I really don't want it to be longer than a year because I want my player to start! lol

I only get minutes at the SG position and I created a PG. I'm already leading the team in scoring, so close to leading the team assists,(2 assists less than DWill) and I lead the team in steals.

I'm also getting the most minutes on the team now but I'm still coming off the bench though. Exactly what is it going to take for me to at least start over Brewer, or go to another team before the season is over/after my 1st season is completed?

Will I be able to sign with another team after one year?

If you are a PG they won't start you at the SG. They won't let your player start out of position even though they will let your guy play out of position before having other players play out of position.

As for your salary pretty sure it is 2 with 2 years of options but yes, you can choose a different team after the season.
