My biggest issue here is that 2K never tells us whether the patch will mean you need to re-start your season / dynasty.

I.e. if I am 30 games in...and the patch comes out, i'll need to start from game 1 again for the patch to work.

From the sounds of his post, the patch may be late november. That's 6 weeks more using a bugged game + unable to start a season (my current one is freezing up too often).

Kind of dissapointing. It's a poor effort on 2K's part to release something so badly bugged and take everyone's $$$$$ knowing that this would happen.

We ought to take a pool on which patch comes out next - Madden or NBA 2k10. I say they come out the same day LOL

Haha yea, and when they come out it overloads your xbox and causes even more bugs with the games!

I don't mean to be rude, but I LOL'ed when I read your post. It's amazing that we're at a point in console sports gaming where we purchase games and then have to wait weeks later for patches so we can actually start PLAYING the games like they were meant to be played. "Man guys, feels good to buy Madden and 2K10...now I'm gonna put them on my shelf and wait a month from now to open them. Then the real gaming begins my friends!"

Yo, this is so true. Sad, but exactly what happens for me with console sports games.

What happen to the days where there was no such thing as patches. I really want to know did anyone really play/test the game out before release. There doing it because they know they can. FOr some reason I want to play Draft Combine. Besides a couple of issues that game was perfect. Best 5 bucks I ever spent.

It really is unfortunate that something like this happens and baring slightly longer dev cycles, the decision makers who just want their paychecks are going to keep pushing this sort of trend that we have seen.

Other then that I wasnt expecting a patch until mid to late November either way so this doesnt "break my heart" so to speak.

Well at least we know that when the patch finally does get released it will indeed address a multitude of problems.


In the meantime I'll play around with the sliders and deal with it the best way that I can. It still plays a fun game with awesome presentation.

There have always been patches via the PC...at least since 2000.

I have no problem with the patches. In fact I wish they would just make these games with an optional pay per update service. We pay a few dollars a month and then they update them. Like MMORPG's.

I'm having fun with this game honestly. The only thing I need to fix right now is inside D and pick and roll others are just gravy.

Developers always had the desire to fix little nuances and bugs in their games but it wasn't possible to patch a console game before the 360 came out. What changed was the culture around video games. They're getting more detailed/involved/lifelike and with that comes the scrutiny from people who want their game to be just like real life and want every little issue ironed out (nothing wrong with that.)

But no console game got patched before 2005, so I guess to answer your question....those days are gone because our current consoles are more advanced than the old ones?

PC games are a different story. They were getting patches long before console games were.
