Re: NBA 2K10 Patch Available, Post Impressions Here (PS3)
Strayed away huh? I've been a Live guy for years. I finally got rid of Live last year and got 2k for the first time ever. This year I went back to Live. I'm thinking about switching again. Waht reasons made you switch? So far are you glad you ended up switching to 2k? Looking for an opinion from somone who's played both. Any one else wants to give some feedback it would be much appreciated. And I don't want to hear"Live sux! 2k rules!" That is not helpful and means nothing to me. How's the patch working for 2k? What issues are there with 2k? How's is association? It sounds great compared to Live's dynasty.Dallas CowboysSan Antonio SpursTexas RangersBaylor Bears Iowa Hawkeyes Texas LonghornsComment

Everything I've ran across in 2K can pretty much be fixed via sliders. The CPU has shot very high at times, but that's the only real problem I've ran into so far. I've played maybe five or six games since I got it earlier today. NBA Today is amazing and is probably the best feature in any sports game out today. Still not the biggest fan of Isomotion but you get more crossover animations on this side.Last edited by thakeaf; 11-22-2009, 12:30 AM.

Re: NBA 2K10 Patch Available, Post Impressions Here (PS3)
This game had bugs before the patch and there were slider-sets that made the game playable..
...now that the patch is out, I firmly believe the game needs VERY LITTLE tweaking.
POST PATCH...just play the game!

In my association, I had a player get injured during a game. He broke his finger. Strange thing is though... he didn't play. Maybe 2K10 can incorporate checking who played while it generates the injuries..Comment

NBA2k10 is a masterpiece. I reiterate as a bball head this is the best sports title I have ever played. I just had my best game ever against the CPU. 5 min quarters, superstar no sliders except for speed bumped to 85, Lakers vs Spurs. I won 44-24 and held the Spurs to 25% shooting. I shot 51% with 24 PIP to the Spurs 8. I earned a defensive fg% trophy at the end. Now I LOVE defense in sports and I would never have thought a video game could make playing defense so fun much less a BASKETBALL game but 2k has nailed it. There are so many options on defense that work and you need them because the CPU will adjust. Tnis game was a chess match til the end and I enjoyed every minute of it! Hats off 2K.Comment

I don't like it. I don't do the "Association", "My Player" or none of that other stuff, I just like to pick up and play and go online every now and then for a pick up game, but even post patch it doesn't work for me. I don't like how you don't really have control of your player in the first couple of seconds bringing the ball up in the back court, you try to walk up and the animation takes over like he is running to hurry up, on defense, your player still doesn't stay squared up to the man he is defending, there is just too many "canned" animations that interfere with the game for my pleasure. The CPU still shoots lights out, they get open too often and your defense is always late rotating to get out to cover. Going online is still hit or miss, much better than pre-patch but not what I or many people expected. This is just a let down for me, I was hoping this was going to be great year for b-ball since it was their 10 year anniversary and all. Disappointed.
If you play the computer or against a friend who won't drive and abuse the paint every play, then yes this is one of the best basketball games ever made.
But as you stated online it's a different world.
You still feel like you don't have complete control if you don't have the best of connections. No skating offline.
After the patch it's harder but It's still to easy to score in the paint.
The long full court pass is back.
Far as online the game does not meet the bar that was set in 2k8. You could play real basketball and beat the cheesers.
If 2k would have never got rid of there lobby format from 2k8 you wouldn't have to play so many cheesers. You could go into the Hall of Fame Lobby and find a good game. You can't do that now.
Yes this is a great basketball game if your playing offline but online the patch leaves a lot to be desired. I shouldn't be forced to play 2-3 zone to shutdown the paint.
I joined a couple of Sim leagues. So I know this is a great game of basketball. They just have to rid the game of the cheap tricks you can't stop.
That's why I loved 2k8 so much. It was the most balanced basketball game I have ever played.Last edited by BlackRome; 11-22-2009, 06:17 PM.Comment

Long pass can't be compeleted the way your saying. The only long passes I've made are when no defense is in the front court or ahead of the offensive player. And they don't happen that often.
I do agree Online lag makes this game dirty.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

I just picked this game up Friday and am finally getting a chance to dig into it. If I can get a handle on the iso controls (never really tried them in previous games) I can see having LOTS of fun in an association locked onto the PF or C position. I just pulled off a nice drop step and sky hook with Taj Gibson over Pryzbilla in an NBA Today game.F-L-O-R-I-D-A! S-T-A-T-E! Florida State! Florida State! Florida State! Wooooo!Comment

Not 2K bashing. I actually love the game.
But honestly, I still see the same issues:
Overlays blocking gameplay.
Crowds not cheering at right time.
Too many CPU backcourt violations.
Music not stopping after a timeout.
The Lord is my shepard.Comment

^^Yea I've seen those same exact problems^^
But like I've said before....those other parts of the game still have a few bugs and glitches. But right now the gameplay is near perfect in my opinion. Online lags as we all know. So many things to do. So many different styles of basketball to play. The contact animations and the decreased fg% across the boards really bring it all together.
When guys play cheesy basketball they don't win. Its just so funny to me when I tell a guy. That scoring in the paint is harder. And they are always willing to prove me wrong....lol I get those games where LeBron goes for 8 for 37 in a 5 quarter game. I mean people are actually trying to learn to play the actually game. And call plays and learn iso motion. Its a great thing to see. I love it!!Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories
