I've used the shot stick(R) for shooting, lay-ups and one defense since first implemented. I feel better about my results. Like I'm actually working

Square for jumpshots, analog stick for layups, duncks, ect

I asked this question yesterday playing somebody... I use the R-stick all day; but I c people use the x (square) button for more jumpers. Might have to try it, might have better success wit jumpers.

But the timing with the stick feels better, cause you can actually feel that ish the 2nd u release. If only O.Reb was more realistic I would pull from mid and 3 all day.

x for pump fakes in the paint. stick for all other pump fakes and all shots.

Thought the same thing, til i started messing with sliders. I got my game playing pretty well in terms of rebounding O vs D.

user O reb=50
user D reb= 35

CPU O reb= 35
CPU D reb= 0

It sounds wierd, and it could have something to do with my skill, but its worked wonders getting both Teams to 10.0+ off rebounds per game.

I started messing with my crash the boards coach profile slider, then i raised my OFF reb to 100, both had limited results.

Then i brought my crash boards back down to 55 and OFF reb back to 50 and just zeroed out the CPU def rebound and BAM!!!

I dont get every missed shot, the cpu still cleans the D glass and boxes out.

Its great you'll actually see long rebounds to the perimiter for the guards and wings to get O-Reb, or The D to get the D-reb and start a nice fast break.

I always use the stick

using X/Square for shooting jumpers makes me want to punch things....as I've stated numerous times in the Live forum

You can use the "X" for shooting?!?, imagine that, will wonders never cease.

Seriously though, whenever I accidentally shoot with the "X" button when I am trying to pass, I feel dirty, even if the shot goes in. It offends my "Shot Stick only" sensibilities.

Start making shots when I switched to square on PS3. Can not shoot at all with stick.

The moment I got used to the shot stick on 2K6, I never looked back. Sometimes I use the button for fakes, though.

I use both, but it depends. Prior to this year I've been a shot stick advocate but this year it acts a little strange. When I go into practice mode and I release a shot early, most of the time it will say "very late release" even though I know I released it early. Maybe it's my controller, but that sort of messes me up when playing online when I check my VIP after the game. I can't tell what percentage of my shots were actually "very early releases" or "very late releases" and it throws me off.

When I use the button however, I get accurate releases every time, though it doesn't feel as natural to me as using the stick.

using shot stick for jumpshot is a wrong move imo. yor finger are on buttons for passing etc. and going to shot stick wastes a little time which is critical.
