      20, be 21 in April.

I'm actually surprised at the average age in here. No wonder these forums are so much easier to be involved in than the 2K ones.

I used to ponder when I should "give up" gaming. I mean, how silly would it be for someone in their 60's (I'm 46 now) to still be playing video games and text sims. But the more I've thought about it, the more I think that video games aren't really any different than watching TV or listening to the radio. I think they are even better because 1) many games require dexterity, concentration and mental alertness 2) you can actually be "involved" rather than passively watching 3) you choose the genres you like and can play over and over with different outcomes as well as communicating with others if you choose. I'm sure there are many more reasons. Like watching TV, you can overdo it (I admit that I do) but if done in moderation I don't see the problem. In the end, this is an era where, at first glance, it might seem "strange" to see an older person participating but I think it's more because it's a newer technology rather than because it's inherently just for younger people.

                  Hope that makes sense.

Edit-One other thought-many of us in this age range were fairly young when the PC became a common part of many households. If you started gaming on the computer (many of us did as an offshoot of board/dice, card, etc games) then the console seems like a natural addition.

we've got a group of 4 ladies in our church (ranging from late 50's to early 70's) who i know get together for lunch or various things (they're all widowed). they showed me a video clip (on one of their phones) in which they were playing the Wii. I about died laughing watching them play boxing...

18, been playing since the SNES and Genesis was out. I've owned every 2K as well, but it feels as the desire to play games is going away. The cons of going to a party school.

agreed. i don't watch thatmuch tv except a few shows and sports (i get what, 500 channels or whatever and i only watch about 10? all in HD) and i would rather play video games. you're actually doing something rather than just sitting and watching.

basketball is my favorite sport and i've been playing 2k since it first came out on dreamcast.

                              26 here btw.
