Same here. Player roles play a large part in the Association mode.

This is completely disappointing. I hope something can be figured out for all the PS3 gamers out there, and the 360 gamers who will have the patch soon.

Rspencer86, thanks a bunch for your work. I have been waiting to start an association and I will use your work around if need be(360) I would like to hear something from a dev on this though. Man and I just thought EA were th only idiots who fixed a bunch of things just to screw up the franchise players with some riddiculous sim stat issue. Thanks 2k... Anyway it hopefully the work around will work for the 360 also or maybe microsoft can catch it... ya probably not. Can we please hear from a dev on this? This IS a husge issue and needs an official word. Again spencer, thak you.

the second patch doesnt appear to have fixed anything worth justifying downloading it. plus, overall, im pretty happy with the way the game plays after the first patch. i sure dont want to restart my association, so it looks like i wont be downloading patch 2.

If they could just fix this one thing and leave everything else untouched I'd still play this game for years. That's probably why there's always alt least that one thing that does not work as supposed. And I thought it was the trade logic.

could it also be that the players with 0 3pt tendency(Centers) are getting set to have a 99???

Maybe increasing their 3pt tendency up from 0 would be a second work around...

yeah someone would have to look at a sample of the centers taking 3s and quickly check their tendencies...basically Rspencer would have to lol since he uses a nogster based roster which has spot on tendencies

rspencer, after you fixed the problem by turning roles off, have you gotten around to noticing it while playing yet? hopefully no...

I was going to play an Association game with Player Roles OFF to see how it went but the Mizzou game went into overtime so I ended up not having time.

My theory is that the people who are having problems with CPU big men jacking 3s in actual played games are playing Associations that they had started before this patch with Player Roles ON. The reason I personally haven't seen it is because I've only played Quick Play games since the patch dropped.

I'm guessing Jukeman is right in that the issue is the big men are having their 3pt tendencies (along with who knows what other tendencies/attributes) jump from 0 to 99 due to some kind of bug in Player Roles. Because of this, the issue would appear both in simulated AND in played games. I should have thought to check big man ratings and tendencies while I was doing my tests last night, I'll do that as well if I get a chance tonight.

It's a shame because this problem ruins what is otherwise a very successful patch. In the four games I've played post-patch the game plays beautifully and I'll probably be starting my Association in a couple of days. I'm glad I waited to start but feel sorry for everyone else who has put in significant time in their Association.

A big NO on the wraparound being the culrpit. David Lee, Shaq, Duncan, etc. are all still listed as 0 for 3 pt tendency and very low for 3 pt success. No 99s to be seen. I will second that the issue is definately player roles. I started a new association (not sure that i'm going to use it) with team chemistry on and player roles off and simmed a few weeks. No issues at all with big men shooting threes.

I want to reiterate that in my played games, the big man shooting issue was not nearly as large as in the simmed games. In each of three games, I had one big man 3 point shot. I also had 4 or 5 total 20 footers from big men who shouldn't take 20 footers. So in played games, I'm not seeing the issue at the same level as in simmed games. It's a slight issue in played games, but not the fiasco that is simmed games.

Can someone try jukeman's second idea and bump up the three point tendencies of big men to about 1 or 2?

Edit: going to give it a go on the ps3 I'm playing on now.

It fixes the defense very well.I haven't seen any big man shooting threes.I mainly play online,season,or quick games

It's a few key animations added to improve defense.Yes it is more physical then the combine

Also the cpu is more agressive on offense

thanks everyone for all of this testing and insight. it's a big help. i definitely want the things in the patch so it might be tough but if turning roles off works, i guess i may have to suck it up and turn them off. but it's also pretty disappointing hearing from people like Comduklakis and kully that bigs are taking long distance 2s as well...

I'm assuming there's no difference if you start your Association with player roles off and then turn them on later?

I didn't see any way to turn on/off the Player Roles option once you were already in an Association. The option is there for Team Chemistry but not Player Roles.
