So based on what I've read, what is the general consensus for playing this game? Player roles off or on? CPU Trades off or on (I'd much rather prefer the latter)? What the hell is "Simulation Strategy" supposed to even do? Etc...

These questions coincide with a thread I started earlier today, which I'll surmise: When you assign a starter 35 minutes, sim a lot of games, and see that he's getting 5/6 personal fouls in 20 minutes of play, he'll start bitching about "not getting his minutes" even though he's the sole reason he's not getting them. Similarly, a sixth man getting 30 minutes per game will bitch about not being a starter, and guys that simply don't have the stamina for the minutes they want, also cause odd morale drops. Thus, they get pissed off and demand a trade, all while killing their stats and hijacking the other players' morale.

go with both off. regarding fouls, i don't have that problem. it might be your player tendencies though.

Thanks Sam, hate to keep asking questions but anyways I started my association with the latest 2k share rosters, I had to rebuild rotation to get Chris Paul back in the game. I left chemistry off, but player roles and trades on. Im only 2 games into the season, can I just turn those off and continue off or should I start all over?

anytime. i'm not really sure. do you even have the option to do this on the association settings? i don't think turning roles off will mess anything up...trades definitely not. if you're only 2 games in, you may want to just start over to be safe if it doesn't take too much time. something i do is turn CPU trades on for like 1 week or so before the deadline turn turn them off again.

also, fragrant, you may want to post something on page 1 about the Team Chemistry numbers being ridiculous with roles off. i also wrote a blog compiling everything for my own easy reference next year.

Thanks Sam, I think im going to try starting all over again for the 3rd or so time. Since I will start over, any recommendations as far as using a roster set or should I just stick with 2k share rosters?

it's all personal preference. like i mentioned before, i'm all about the custom roster as I think 2k's aren't very good or accurate or as detailed and fine tuned top to bottom as the ones done by some of the experts on here like Nogster and Rashidi. That being said, you will still have the FA glitch since most of these were based off of a pre-patch. you'll have to evaluate what you want more - usually more accurate tendencies, ratings, stats, etc. or 2ks with the injuries, no FA glitch, but also worse CAPs

ive run into a glitch with cpu's rotations? Roy is averaging about 6 mins a game. Any fixes?

there are a lot of good ones out there including one that has nogster's tendencies (best in the biz) with rashidi's ratings (best in the biz).

Is it possible to turn player roles off once you're already in association? I'm halfway through Season 1 and don't really want to start over. I see where you can turn off team chemistry and cpu trades, but I don't see the option to turn off player roles.

I don't think you can turn it off once you've started an association. But leaving it on is not all that bad. The downside is that bigs will shoot 3's, but on the bright side the CPU will actually play their rookies. Starting in the second season the rookies on the CPU controlled teams won't get enough minutes. Their minutes will not increase until more nba vets retire. Personally I'd rather just have player roles on.

Hello. Sorry for interrupt you guys, but i have a really problem now in association mode in nba 2k10. I'm playing Denver Nugget right now, and Carmelo Anthony he wants to be free agent after the season ends. Even though, his contracts is not end yet and i don't want to lose him. Does anybody knows how to stop him to become free agent?

I finally decided to inmerse into franchise and I have 3 issues/questions that I would like one of you fellows to answer/help me avoid them ...

1. Have you noticed that the CPU or AI does not actively do any signings or transactions during the FA period ?

I am playing a franchise were I choose to have the control of the 30 teams (role players off-team chemestry on-injuries off) ... I individually restrained the AI from controlling them in respect of Lineups, Simming Tacticts (whatever this is ...), Staff, Contracts & Trades tasks ...

I even manually declined all team options for upcoming FA players (except a couple) and didnt resign any players (to increase amount of players available) ... and when the FA period began I put those tasks back into the AI hands (for all individual teams except MIA) as I didnt wanted to be parcialize in favor of one or a couple of temas when handling such tasks ... but to my surprise the AI did not sign any of the FA relevant players available, nor did it make a single propossal ...

As a result I got to retain Wade & sign Lebron, Scola, Haywood and Foye ... but all other relevants such as Johnson, Boozer, Lee, Ty. Thomas, Felton, R. Allen are still in FA and the preseason is just begining (while old washed out players like A. Daniels & B. Jackson did get contracts) ... what is further intriguing is that when I go and try to see what they are now demanding, is an absurd low quantity like 5 Mill a year ...

2. I am seeing, after simming the first season, that some players show incorrect/weird stats on their cards. Is this common ?

Like R. Allen with 0.3 ppg and 11.2 rbs ... C. Paul reflecting that he played with CHI wich he didnt as he stayed on NO ... Ginobili saying he played in CLE and that he vaeraged 15 pts and 10 rbs and 3.4 blks ... Also, in most cases, they are still not getting the minutes I assigned them and that are shown on the rotation screen; when I go to their cards I see that they are very far apart from what I have settle.

3. Everytime I go to trade screen there is a team already selected in one of the slots and I cant remove it ... I just happen be forced to use it in any trade scenario that I can come up with and it is very ackward ...I even controll all 30 teams but to have a team that I dont want to be involved is a huge problem ...
