Durability Slider vs. Durability Attribute (Injuries)

Hello, I Need a question answered.

I'm trying to get more injuries in my association and I have problem:

The durability slider is reversed, I get that. But what about when you make adjustments to an individual players durability. Is that backwards as well?

    Any help would be appreciated.

I got certain players at 25 the ones IRL are out for season but they still dont get injured so maybe the slider is better or a combination of both.

Re: Durability Slider vs. Durability Attribute (Injuries)

I would like to know that too. Im half way through my second assoc. and only one 3 day injury in the first and NONE in the second. I have the injury slider at 90 by now, still nothing happens.

No injuries at all really makes this game much more unrealistic.
Hope someone can get me a few hits how to raise injuries.

      Thanks!

Re: Durability Slider vs. Durability Attribute (Injuries)

use my sliders & you will see results... i get very varied injuries but nothing in excess

        YeLLz SiM SLiDerS (patch 2)

        ***EDIT***

the durability SLIDER determines how often at at what pfrequency there will be injuries LEAGUE WIDE.

the durability RATING determines how often a SPECIFIC PLAYER gets injured & if they can play through them or not.

you should NOT have to alter player's durablity ratings in most instances. raise the the durabilty slider & you will see more injuries in general throught the NBA... raise the lower the durabilty rating you will see THAT specific player frequent the list of injuries more often.

hope i explianed that in a way that made sense.

        synopsis:
more injuries overall = up durability slider (yes it is backwards)

want a player to play through injuries & be less injury prone = up durability rating

want a player to be injury prone & early "Grant Hill-ish" = lower durabilty rating

want to see more severe injuries instead of lots of little nagging injuries that do NOT keep players out of lineup = up injury severity slider

want a perfect blend with players missing games here & there = find the perfect combination...
use my YeLLz SiM SLiDerS (patch 2)...

Re: Durability Slider vs. Durability Attribute (Injuries)

            Thanks for the clarification man.

What's funny is last year I stopped going to the slider thread's because I thought this game could be fixed via individual edits, so any slider adjustments I made were just specific to me and my preference.

So, then I get to your Slider thread and it's virtually identical to what I have (and what I'm working towards). I played one game with Nogster 2.0 update roster using your slide set and it's damn near peftect.

Thanks very much for the help and input.

Re: Durability Slider vs. Durability Attribute (Injuries)

<del>I've come to the conclusion that when talking about the individual player durability then about 62 is the real minimum.</del> I've run about 10 or so test simulations and after looking through all the injured players' ratings it seemed that most of the seriously injured guys had their durability at 63. For an example, Jamal Crawford had his durability at 63 and he got a season ending torn ACL on two different association simulations. Then I upped his durability to 75 and didn't see him on the injured list after that.

<del>Why I believe it really could be 62, is because it's right in the middle of the 25-99 scale. (25+37=62 and 62+37=99) Seems like a programming error that might make sense and it might not.</del> The thing is, I've had guys at 25 and 99 and they've played whole seasons without being injured, but guys around 60-70 get injured more often.

Then again, the injuries include a huge "random" factor, I've seen Rondo out for the season and his durability was at 90 or so.

Just for reference, I have both human and CPU durability at 75 and injury severity at 90 under game sliders and I see about 40-60 injuries in the list by the end of the season, about 5 of them being season ending injuries.

                  EDIT:
Another thing, I think I've misunderstood the injury severity slider. I want to get more people "out" with injuries, so everyone wouldn't play 82 games. So I set injury severity to 90 and durability to 65, but got more people "hurt". So it seems severity affects only the decreasing value of the injured players' ratings. It might send role players to the IR, but starters will end up on the bench and just take a slide in their stats.

So I guess that I have to jack up the durability slider and lower the severity slider to get more guys "out" instead of "hurt" with a -10, etc.

                  EDIT#2:
I've tested individual durability ratings for a while now and it take back my original theory. Now I'm convinced that it is totally RANDOM who gets injured through simulation. Doesn't even seem to relate to fatigue.
