I was having a discussion with a friend weather or not the skill points attributes in this game are based on percentages. Example: Mid Range Shot: 99, meaning 99 percent of the time you will make the jumper from Mid Range. Now this isnt taking into account a defender in your face. Obviously if this were the case or the pressure of a shot clock and other factors like clutch or consistency came into play it all effects the likely hood of the ball going in, but my argument was that the whole game revolves around percentages. If I take a jumper mid range with a 99 mid range shooter and someone puts a hand in my face it brings my percentage or likeness of the ball going in by lets say 77 percent. Please someone help me prove my point or tell me that im all wrong I dont care I just want to get to the bottom of this.

Re: How does the 2k Attribute mechanic work?
I basically make all the ratings have a soft cap at 90. Rarely players in my rosters go over 90 unless it's for speed, dunk, off/def aware and etc. Shooting ratings usually stay below 90 for all players and then I'' work down from their. For example Dirk shoots 48% from 16-23 feet and 44% from 10-15 feet. So I gave him an 88 for mid range.
It might not sound like the best thing to do but I think it balances the game very well.
Other Example of mid range ratings for player
Carmelo 10-15: 43% 16-23: 38% My 2k Rating=81
Lebron 10-15: 30% 16-23: 40% My 2k rating= 76
Kobe 10-15: 50% 16-23: 44% My 2k rating= 86Comment

No, skill points are not based on percentages. For instance, Kobe has a very high mid range shot rating, and he'll still throw up countless bricks if you take too many bad shots.Comment
