I see where you're coming from, but in terms of sim gameplay, I have to disagree.

Why is it instantly condemnable if someone shoots the ball everytime with one player, but on the defensive side, it's acceptable? If you're only going to guard, for example, the SF, why would someone using the Cavs do anything but shoot with LeBron? The option is to play against the CPU, or to go head to head against the other player...your defense is forcing the offense's hand, and yet, I'm sure you'd instantly judge somebody if they played offense that way.

A more obvious example...Lakers vs Jazz. The Lakers player subbed Kobe in as PG and shot EVERY shot with him. Definite cheeser, right? Wait, how is it acceptable for the Jazz user to ONLY defend the PG? Not only have they decided the only position the offense can go to to play gamer vs gamer....they've literally chosen the matchup. Playing Fisher vs Williams is a clear advantage for the defense everytime. Why if the defense insists on only guarding one position, that's fine...but if the offense changes lineups to switch that matchup in their favor, that's cheese?

Valid point. I stood from this angle the whole way, but never thought about that.

Online mode next year should feature nothing but 1-on-1 Blacktop matches, so nobody will ever have to commit the horrible, despicable sin of having a CPU controlled player guard them.

The horrible, despicable sin isn't playing off the ball defense.

It's having the audacity to judge someone's game as sim or not, when you're forcing them to play against the CPU. Play however you like, just understand how hypocritical you're being in judging how others respond to your camping on defense.

I played PF in highschool, so I enjoy playing down on the blocks and battling for rebounds. This just makes playing the game more SIM for me. That's the type of game that I have and I always enjoyed battling in the low post. This is sim for me because that's how I play in reality.

If you want to play as a single position, there is a specific game mode designed for you....My Player. When you're playing a quick match, though, the expectation is that you're controlling the entire team.

Those are your expectations. You are one person and opinion is not fact! I'm done, I agree to disagree.

Your totally right...This is all about opinion

But I will say this...I might play you once (if I don't quit). But you won't get a second game out of me.

Who cares if the cpu is guarding you? The human is still controlling matchups, plays, and pace of the game, as well as controlling players on the offensive end. I'll be honest, I don't always cover the PG. If a player is killing me with a certain guy, I might stay on him. If I'm getting shredded with Points in the Paint, I'm going to play with a Post Defender. If someone does that to me, I'll adjust accordingly. It's the human strategy and mind I want to play against, not necessarily their thumbs.

Last night at my friends house....I get up by about 15 points. He playing on-ball. I'm playing on-ball. As soon as he gets down. LeBron goes into Superman off-ball mode. He makes like 8 steals in one quarter. Finishes with 9 for the game. We were playing 6 minute quarters. I end up losing by 20. Blame the lost on me. But he won't get to play me again.

But again "to each its own".

Sidenote....After my game We find out my controller is messed up. Reason for me missing wide open shots.

There's a difference between playing off ball and exploiting off ball. And I don't do it all game. I just find I'll give up a lot of buckets if I'm constantly switching players, so I keep that down. I'm not getting 8 steals in a game or a ton of blocks. If I'm really concerned about the PG, I might guard him. All in all, I'm going to do what I can to win (short of cheating or cheesing), and I want the other guy to do the same.

Another tactic he did was play full court press. And not play the ball handler. Do you know how easy it is to make a steal playing on-ball. Its not as easy as playing off-ball to get steals. The most enjoyable games I have are the game when both sides play on the ball.
