That's not totally true. Sure, it's a texture. But here's the potential issue. Let's say that's a hi-rez texture. Taking about 20K for one texture. If you put that in the game, even if you're not drawing it at the moment, it's still taking up ram waiting. So, you have 2 teams of 12 players each. if you created a unique texture for each of those players, that's 2*12*20K. That's half of a Meg of RAM gone from the game JUST FOR A HEAD BAND! If you have 1 or 2 textures, that saves a lot more memory.
I'm not saying that's how it's done. Not even the best way to do it. I'm just saying that sometimes, it may seem simple, but it's not. It's a checks and balance issue. Considering all of the little detail that they do have in the game, so much content. Then throw in the fact that we all know they do pay attention to the fanbase: if it's not been fixed by now, they must have a damned good reason.
With that said, it's says a lot that one of the biggest complaints about the game is that a headband by one individual is upside down.Comment

I agree this belongs in the Authenticity thread, I also think 2K has enough resources and specific departments for each aspect of this game. This specific topic should be directed to the graphic artist or gaphic designer. Not the gameplay staff.Comment

Actually that's not how it works...if you notice in that picture, Lebron's overall model is 30x the resolution of the one 2k first put out and his tattoo's are 55% more detailed and the headband is fixed and so are the jersey's. And yet, it's still in the game....

Does it matter if his headband is red or black or whatever you want it to be? Do you even know what color he's gonna wear next season?
Is the color of accessories more important than gameplay?
This is such a minor thing that I don't understand how people can put effort into complaining about it. Besides, 2K can have no idea what accessories and which colors people are gonna where next season.
