Judging from this video and the others it looks like these guys just don't know what they are doing. There are a couple of instances where I saw a defender running around aimlessly (in this video dirk does it). Hopefully thats a user issue and not due to like of control over the defender. It would suck if defense, particularly one on one defense, was still a liability for the defender.
I'm sure that lack of knowledge of the controls is a small part of it, but to me it seems clear that these Users are playing the typical casual NBA gamer defensive strategy; steal and double team spamming, but with the CPU being much more competent then they've been in the past, the User looks ultra foolish.

Showing the arena from the outside is nice! But hopefully for 2K12, they can add people going inside, like they did in older 2K games - only this time making it look next-gen.

People going inside + players getting off the bus = pure TV broadcast.

Is it just me, or have none of these videos shown any lock-on D from the user? It's just them running around trying to keep up with the man with the ball.

Lock-on D might be gone. I hope so because it is a handicap.

IMO, Lock D could work if it were spefici permiter defenders, such as ron artest and company. and some how toning it down so it isn't always a handicap.

Shaq shouldn't be able to lock on anyone including centers, etc

I almost never use lock-on D. I feel it's just a waste of stamina. It just feels ineffective. Maybe it has something to do with me playing online 80% of the time

IMO, lock on D needs to be gone. All offensive and defensive players with or without the ball need to be subject to the same footplanting, locomotion, and collision detection parameters all the time. Rating then should dictate how well defenders can move laterally, close out, and body players off their dribble/spots.

                      agreed jf

They had it removed in Live last year at release and people complained that playing defense was too hard, but they had it right... no lock on D, just play the angles... too bad the complainers got their wish, then it went to that super suction warping crap with everyone's defensice ratings overexxaggerated and too high.

I say let em play, on both sides of the ball, and let us determine the contact not a forced button mechanic

Why is it that in every video the user is just a terrible player? Its nauseating to watch these guys play.

Looking forward to seeing some quality user controller in the future.

If we're watching clips of sports games from a video game convention, and it isn't one of our OS peeps playing, then the User will be horrendous. That is a immutable fact of life.
