    on to the insight..

Mike will holding down the left trigger make the player tired?
We’ve completely gone away from the Lockdown Defense idea (aka. Auto-D) and returned the Left Trigger to a movement modifier to give you full control over your facing. In NBA 2K11, playing solid onball defense has returned to being a skill that rewards quick reflexes on the gamer’s part, rather than allowing people to sit back and let the AI do the work for them.

No they shouldnt, without competition, this series would have not progressed as much as it has....see Madden as an example of a perennially underachieving franchise because of the lack of a competitor.

I thoroughly enjoy how candid and honest the devs at 2K are. As a consumer it's refreshing to hear words like "Last year we felt like ____ simply didn't work very well" or "I honestly hated _____'s shot last year" or "After introducing ______ we really didn't improve on it until now that we....".

And even responding to the criticisms on this forum and making the changes in-game within days, your hard work and interaction with your customers/fans/skeptics is something honorable and unique in this age.

I would love to see more of this level of engagement and honesty from "other" gaming companies.

I have been asking for the scrapping of the LOCK-ON D ever since it was introduced, and with that, I say good riddance. It was just a way to mask all of the issues they had with the basic movements in the game with all of the sliding.

Now that they can finally get rid of it, tells me that they have enough confidence in the movement that they don't need to feed us some bogus CPU assist.

I like that they have different jumpers for P2, but if they butcher his face like they did last year (Ray Allen's too) that would be a problem.

SMH @ talking about exclusivity. And developers from both 2K & EA are on their respective boards giving out candid and honest interaction.

Wow, this was like the control scheme of my dreams... a perfect fusion of old-school 2K (think 2K8) and NBA Live 10. Color me officially excited for this game... all the Jordan hype and whatever else did nothing for me, but these are massive "nuts and bolts" improvements that I've been asking for the last 5 years...

Good stuff, so glad to have Mike back on board with the rest of their crew... seems like they really did work this year, re-vamping almost everything. Loving the animaitons and the burst you get when coming hard out of a dribble move... Can't wait to light people up with Ty Lawson, Monta Ellis, and those types...

It sounds like they did WORK this year. The NBA 2K series has always been heralded and recognize for its depth in a lot different areas, but it sounds like they went into complete overdrive. Everything from new modes, to new gameplay and refine mechanics, all the way to continually adding to its strength, which is sigs and player differentiation. Quite honestly, it's staggering how much they've been able to do in one dev cycle, and I love this quote right here from the insight:

I know there’s a sentiment out there that you can’t have the best of both worlds: control and nice animation. But I think with this year’s game, we’re going to prove that it’s possible.
I like it...... I like it A LOT.

Its amazing to me how they've basically fixed every problem I've had with this game..I've been wanting the momentum jumpshooting for years now. Happy its been mapped for the shot button too because I hate jumpshooting with the shotstick..only use that for layups. All these guys with multiple jumpshot animation..just amazing. Glad mike brought alot of his ideas from live over to 2k. Its really helping make 2k an even better game. All this plus a great association mode will make this my favorite 2k.

                                Auto D is gone
Anybody knows if auto postup is gone also?

Great insight I guess 2K heard us complaining every year about lack of info on NBA2K__. They're on their business now. Now it's almost time for some commercials to make the hype machine worldwide.

I hope the "other" company makes a good game also. I love basketball.

2K really need to go back to making a NCAA game.
