Re: Little known fact: 2k10's 'My Player' had sliders

OP's correct. I posted a video near the release of 2K10 showing sliders in effect in My Player mode.

I was also surprised that it seemed that not many players took advantage of that to make a harder My Player.

It only seems to work when importing the player from combine or creating a new My Player, but not when loading a My Player save that's already been played with. I tried it tonight and got the same result...

thats unfortunate, well considering the player you already have is probably already good, maybe starting over would make the best challenge.

I've got a question. Say you bump down User's Lay-up ability. Does anyone know if it only affects you or your teammates as well?

So if you wanted a more difficult My Player mode you would get a good set of sliders for Pro setting, imput them, change the quarter length to what you desire, then enter the mode.

I found this out after the second patch and assumed it was common knowledge. This breathed new life into the mode for me, hopefully it will do the same for you until 2k11 drops.
This is true, except difficulty carries over too.

naw difficulty dont make the cut, i wish it did because with my sliders it would be a GREAT challenge.

I did however go 4/14 with 5 turnovers in a summer leauge game in my new my player with sliders after going insane in my original Hakeem Olajawon My Player.

Has the increased challenge that you've faced with altered sliders affected your CPU teammates? Are they shooting just as poorly?

I mean i am playing against a bunch of scrubs so yea they are. Last game i believe the shooting percentages were like 39% and 41%. Felt about right considering the talent level.

I also bumped commit foul up to 95 since the foul settings dont translate.

So changing the "User" sliders affects your CPU-controlled teammates too? I hope so, because no matter how difficult I make it for my player, I don't need the rest of the starting 5 to have a 60% FG.

I'd have to say that it does considering the trash my undrafted big men were throwing up lol.

Yea, i was quite shocked at people who haven't figured out this. Firstly, you just start up Nba 2k10, change your sliders to whatever you feel like what's best for your My player mode experience, and then start My Player Mode. Now, this is where people get confused, The sliders only work when you make it to the NBA and play your first nba game. That means don't expect to make every shot in the summer league or training camp, cause it's not going to happen.

i dont think its intended to be there. so no 2k10 myplayer dont have sliders. its more of a bug than a feature of my player..

I figured this out day 1. I was playing on 12 minutes since oct 6. At any rate I think the shooting problems come from Framerate issues in some camera views. Most people use broadcast and in broadcast each shot as 3 release timings. Only top closet to the bench has the true release point. At the center of the 3 it's slightly before you reach your apex and at the bottom is even slightly quicker then there. 3 different release points because the frame rate causes most of the misses people experience I believe.

I was a 43% 3pt shooter online and in my player for awhile until I realized the release changes. But I noticed how much better I shot in practice and in camera views that don't show a a lot of Crowd. I don't miss with my player now a days.

it works in the summer league it just you just dont notice it when you make it harder but you notice when you make it dramatically easier

Yes it does. There is a clear difference. Anyway, neither one of us can prove it so its pointless to dispute, but why would sliders carry over and difficulty not? I tested it several times and believe me, the level I was playing on was not pro.
