    Totally agreed.

On the other hand, there is thread on this very forum (and on 2ksports, both by dsinl) that has some leaked 2k11 ratings ... if they havent taken them out, you can access the 2k11 leagues and you will see at least 11 teams and the partial ratings of their rosters ... dont know the exact numbers on the last official rating update, but they seem to be pretty close with a few (around 5-6) noticeable exceptions.

Also as jeebs pointed out, there are some new ratings added so that could affect at to some extend, the players overall. I just hope the gap between sim engine and ratings isnt that big this time around. Also, that the team ratings are totally revealed and that we could alter some of them, like chemestry.

also looks like they bumped up most players on ball d ratings. eg. wilson chandler was 69 on the last 2k10 roster in on ball d and in the test leagues for 2k11 its a 79.

either way, same ratings or not it would be nice to see the screens like they have been showing them the past few times
I think Durant was a 91 after the last roster update. But it might be because of other new ratings. I'll check in a minute.

If 2K has always just used the previous season's last ratings, then why in the world have they had a press release every year with an article showcasing all the teams, there ratings, and their players ratings.

In 2K8 I remember all they did release the top 50 players for their position so we could see what they were rated because players had changed.

What new ratings are in the game? I heard several of you mention new ratings but this is the first time I heard it.

I specifically remember Al Jefferson being an 88 when 2K9 shipped and everyone was questioning 2K's motives. I don't think he was an 88 during the last roster update in 2K8.

Also, I think it wouldn't make much sense to rate players based on summer progress. Especially since summer progress doesn't show how players play in games vs NBA Talent when it counts. Summer League doesn't count, if it did Marcus Banks would have been an 80 coming into the 2008-2009 Season.

Confirmed, he is a 88 in the last roster update ... he is just 1 of the few (around 6) players that saw a change of more than 1 pt in his overall, from within 11 teams. The rest, stayed the same as last year update or within 1 pt.

On the other hand, the days of press releases by 2k was long, long ago ... and with the new scales and formulas presented for 2k10 I highly doubt that they would drastically vary them for the next couple editions.

This isn't true. Bargnani in 2k9 had a final rating of 75. When the 2k10 rosters were released, he was a 69, and Toronto fans FLIPPED OUT. I remember this extremely well. Dozens of threads on the 2K forums.

Then again, they introduced new ratings and a new scale, therefor, the changes were a natural result of that rather than a meticulous general re-edit revision. Check the leaked 2k11 ratings and you should get a proof that they are 98% the same from 2k10.

Within 11 teams, there are less than 6 players with an overall change over/under 1 pt. The most noticeable are Durant and Chandler, with 3 each (if I remembered right).
