I ran a quick search and didn't see anything.
I've been so busy that I haven't been able to play 2K very much. Probably about 6-8 games. But last night, I realized that on lay ups and dunks, the shot stick was different. It was no longer in relation to the players position on the floor, but instead was a static direction.
For example, if I hit R2+Up on the right stick, I got the normal dunk NO MATTER WHAT. Even if I drove from the top of the screen, which would mean Up on the stick would be going away from the goal, instead of the spin dunk I got the normal dunk. And vice versa, if I hit R2+Down on the stick, I got the spin dunk EVERY TIME, regardless of what direction my player was coming from. Left and Right were also static like this.
Since I haven't played a lot I thought maybe the game has always been like this and since I was still learning the controls I just didn't really notice, but I could have sworn it wasn't like this the first night. And I don't think I changed any settings. Even the Isomotion instructions tell you to press the stick "toward," or "away" from the basket, not to hit "Up," or "Down" on the stick to pull off a certain shot. Has anyone else seen this?
BTW, I guess I should mention that I'm playing with the Broadcast camera. Also, this wasn't a one time thing. It happened in practice mode and two games. I even restarted the game before playing the second game ... no difference.
Disregard this. I found out what happened. Somehow, the shot stick was changed from "camera relative" to "absolute" in the options. I don't remember doing this, but it's fixed now either way. That's actually a really nice addition. I just didn't realize you could do it.
