I'm within 20 mins of NYC, so last year when I heard people were getting 2K10 & Live early, I felt silly waiting for the release date. I read the thread searching for clues to where to try, then said to myself "Dave it's NYC, what the heck?!?!"

So I went driving through the BX and it was just stupid how many of those lil electronic stores were displaying the games and selling them openly. I copped both games from the same spot down there, and there were plenty of dudes copping right next to me.

They had some trick with the cash registers or something, where it didn't look like they sold it early, not sure. But if you close to NYC, the BX, Brooklyn and Manhattan from what I saw last year, it'll be hard NOT to get it early.

Question for those of you who have gotten the game early in previous years:

Do you/have you called before to check if they had it? Or did you just walk in, play it cool and ask for a copy?

Last year, I was calling everywhere leading up to the release. I even called a couple of commercial spots I had heard slipped up before and sold before the release date. A couple of spots said they would have it the weekend before, but one spot actually sold it. It's funny because I think there were a group of people from here that ended up in the same spot and got both Live and 2K. So, I'm hoping that works out again... but I just might pay double for it if I could get it sooner than that!

Wish my friend still had his store, used to get certain games up to a week early. Other than that I don't think any stores are releasing it early around me.
