rebounding in 2k10 was brilliant. It was the only reason why I loved using big men. Finding your man and boxing them out. Trying to escape out of a box out. Out timing the other guy, it was fantastic.

I hope you guys are exaggerating.

I'm guessing that this will be addressed with the 1st patch???...i mean how hard could it be to code the rebounding back to 2k10

NO 2k10 rebounding sucked... i averaged 20 rebounds agame with howard and .3 with nelson... no one else could rebound with howard on the floor was soo cheap

you right guys and nobody but big men would get rebounds also.. your smallfoward would never get rebound i would go the whole game trying to get rebounds with my other player and get very few getting non realistic stats all season long

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I hate the rebounding. I just had a game where I was boxing out, in position and Gasol kept pole volting into the air and rebounding the ball.... In 2k10 I would be rewarded for my position and boxing out.

Rebounding is definitely one of the sore spots on the game that reminds me that I'm playing a video game and not basketball. There's no skill involved in rebounding. It's basically whomever jumps the highest gets the board. I was using Rodman one game, and he only had 7 rebounds total and this was playing on Superstar/Sim, 12 minute quarters. My team had over 40 rebounds that game, and Rodman only gets 7?

They should definitely add more boxing out in a patch. As a solid rebounder in real life at only 6'1", I'm appalled by this!! LOL

Rebounding/boxing out in 2K10 was solid. If they had kept it the exact same in 2K11 I wouldn't have mind. I liked how in 2K11 they added animations countering a box out. The problem as many have said is:

-Bigs skying for rebounds. This is really evident when Zydrunas Ilgauskas is getting way too many rebounds from behind jumping like he is in Space Jam.

-Not enough boxing out in general. Seems to be a jump fest when really rebounding is about boxing your man out, having a good angle and anticipating when the ball will come out.

Dwight Howard hear explains how to box out, how to counter a box out and what to do once you rebound (outlet pass):

Also it would be cool in a patch or in 2K12 to add these features:

-Long shots=long rebounds. Thus guards would have to snatch it in the backcourt to help the bigs on the boards.

-50-50 balls. In other words loose balls. In 2K10 it was too clean. Box out and rebound.

In real life we always see in the NBA balls getting tipped out of bounds(going for rebounds) and referees having to make a decision as to which team touched it last. The players argue and disagree at some of the calls(as well as the fans:wink.

This has never been implemented in an NBA video game but would take Sim gaming to a new level.

-Tipping the ball to yourself and your teammates. Of course this would mean a new rating/tendency called "Tipping rebounds to teammates" or something like that. Think guys like Dennis Rodman or Ben Wallace who are very skilled at this. Some tip the ball back around the 3-point line (when on offense) because they aren't in position to grab the rebound.
