Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)

one of my best games on FG% .. with 4-5 3pt .. i dont know what 26 suppose to mean down there but i had 79% FG

and i have a question if i may .. why does my teammates are so dumb on takin shots ? is that because iam a scoring player? they search for most difficult shots in traffic and take it with plenty of time left to search for an open shot . lebron got 4-16 ! and all 4 dunks no jumb shots for him . haslem 0-8 and so on . they just score FTs or second chances most of the time . i ask that cause i see ppl have like 24 Apg and low ppg and they win games . so there teammates are able to score more points than mine .. is that because they are pgs or not scorin players or what?

Im finding rebounding alot easier now but the frustrating thing is I always miss a triple double by 1 or 2 rebounds

How do you think this ended? lol

I'm loving the play calling.....now I actually know where my teammates are going to be.

My SF just came off a game with 25 rebounds! Just swept the NO Hornets in the first round too.

I think rebounding waaay to easy post patch. I made a faceup PF last night, and in the first 2 games I had 15 avg in only 11 mpg. My mid range is a mid 70s but I could only average 4 PPG because I'd never get the ball. I might aswell just make a rebounding PF and be Dennis Rodman. Even playing MJ mode after the patch I was getting close to 13 boards a game.

i think the 26 is for the amount of shots you took

im a PG so i do control the pick and roll...you're right lebron and wade both continually run into traffic and miss shots...i mainly get my assists when they're cutting to the basket and they either get a dunk, layup or get fouled...everything you said is true...but i continually keep giving them the ball...sometimes their FG% is way off since they settle for those contested shots

i agree...the rebounding is WAY easier...i wasnt sure if it was my improved stats or if it was from the patch...but i frickin' got like 18 rebounds last night with my 6'3" PG....havent gotten anything less than 9 rebounds the last nine games

i have noticed that post-patch gives you rebounds even if you just simply tip the ball upwards...was this always the case pre-patch?

i swear i didnt get any rebounds credited to me when i tipped the ball and i didnt catch it until the patch came out...

I wish you could. Right now, there is no option to turn off call playing. I think if you are a C, PF, or PG, you most likley like the play call. But if you are a SG or in some offenses a SF, it really, REALLY, hurts your stats from pre-patch. I hope the offer the option as I am currently a SG and have a horrendous problem being relevant each game. I know Ihave seen this suggestion for play call options on the suggestion thread. Lets hope they will set up a patch. If not, it may be a conosideration to restart a new MP in one of the preferred roles. Which stinks, I know.

What are you doing to get so many rebounds? I am having a serious issue trying to get to the hoop. most of the time the play call has me stuck on the 3pt line in the wings, so I have to go through scrum to get to the hoop. Most of the time i get sucked up into a box out, or if lucky, i get through and then it seems I am fighting 2 to 3 other players on the board. Since most times I do not get the ball, a Offense rebound can help my scoring too. Those are the most difficult for me though.

on defense i just stay near the rim being mindful of the 3 seconds in the key penalty...on offense i just try to run in front of the opponents and snatch the ball away from them...difficult at times since the cpu boxes out....

i usually make a beeline for the basket once the shot is thrown up...sometimes(on defense) they get me on the fake and pass out to the guy i was supposed to be guarding...

it's really all hustle if you're and undersized position such as the PG...got 9 offensive rebounds last game...

i still find times where my player wont grab the ball even though im like headlevel with the airborne ball(i have a 99 hand rating) so that's beyond frustrating

cant you move away from the 3 point wing? most of the time i stand on the blue circle for like a second(so that the ball handler can run his play) then i run away to better position myself...

I am still playing my 6'6" SG, so not undersized, but most play calls stick me near 3pt land. I will try the blue circle thing and hang by the key like you said. What sometimes happens is my PG holds the ball until last few seconds and then it is a guessing game if he throws the 3 up or doe sa crappy pass. But I will try for positioning. My best rebound game was 7 rebounds with my 49 overall. Only got 12 points that game on 12 min qtrs though. Still trying to make this SG work.

For anyone that plays an SG or SF, or anyone else that has problems with post-patch touches and role relevance, I am going to work on some options I have heard from these boards. I will report back to hopefully help others enjoy the challenges of playing these positions.

                              1) Try off-ball pick calling to get PG's called play stopped: I hope this will allow more free play and touches for my 49 overall SG. May also allow me to try to pick for ball carriers adding to teamwork score

2)Dunk is...gone: with dunking much harder to do (i read a post that until it hits around 90 does it start working more predictably), I plan to get my teamwork score up by grabbing boards.

                              3) Work the boards: The new patch seems to suck me up into more boxouts, but I plan to work the key area and see if I can up boards, more specifically Offensive rebounds, as this give me a chance to put back and get some points and/or fouled.

I will play a few more games trying these and report back. Thanks to Enigma and others that have put through suggestions. I love the SG position so I am going to find a way to make it work.

Best way to break down a play instantly is to press "LB" at the start of offense.

Unless you're a pointguard, then you're still stuck in the new system.

I know it's been said, but it works unless you happen to wander into a new play starting location and then you've just got to tap LB again.
