So damn hard to force the defender to commit 2 turnovers when you get docked for making a "Bad Steal Attempt". Even one time i was trying to dribble out the clock with 20 sec left and after 10 sec i was docked for "dribbling too much" or something like that BS!

And at times when San Antonio put out 2 point guards i got confused on who to guard and my guy scored. I had a 4ppg 4ast 5reb [22% FG] averages in Summer. I ended up with a B- teammate rating and got drafted Rnd 2 pick 2 to NJ. Hopefully i'll have fun with this, but i'd still rather be playing my Association team MIN.
the defensive objectives are usually hard when they ask you to force a turnover...they also have some relatively easy ones like keeping your opponent from making five 3's....but again...dont worry too much about the offensive and defensive objectives...just work on getting that teammate rating of an A+(gets you around 900 skill points automatically)...

tips: dont just continually swipe at the ball....even if you're just dribbling out the clock you might still want to pass the ball to someone who isnt wide open(they usually pass it back to you)...just so you dont get flagged for holding the ball too long...

on another note there's a circle icon around the feet of the player you're supposed to be guarding...but the game is a bit weird sometimes and they switch the guy you're supposed to be guarding on a fastbreak which often then not, makes you lose teammate grade

I move it to All-Star, Superstar, Hall of Fame, my players miss everything, the other team shoots 75%.

I change it to Default and Sim, still the same results. Any fix to this crap?
the cpu teammates are generally faulty in any of the difficulties....when you bump up the difficulty you're only putting your team at a disadvantage since the cpu opponents shoots significantly better....there's no fix that a user can do from their own end for this mode...association mode has sliders which probably help more than my player

i would just stick with using pro/default despite the frustrations...im using all-star/default

Any tips on playing good defense cause I let up way to many baskets(I'm good at making the guy not get the ball, but once he does , its like guarentee score)

Also, are there any attributes I shouldn't increase when using my skill points? My guys a SF so some of them like passing and all those mental things i dont really care about
lol just contest shots....im not really much help in terms of guarding the basket but i can play the passing lanes very well....until you get your hands, steals, hustle, and speed+quickness up it's really hard to do...just contest shots to the best of your abilities

um, i wouldnt worry about increasing these until later in your career:
          -awareness(do speed and quickness instead)
          -rebounding(do verticals instead)
          -emotion is completely useless
          -passing isnt really needed(later on)

get these ratings up to a respectable number at least an 80:
          -handle
          -ball security
          -offhand ball handle
          -layup
          -dunk

Though my team mates suck too in 2k11.I have a big man hovering near the 3pt line so I'm basically forced to either shoot the ball or pass it and have it count as a bad pass. It's annoying too how I have to run the play the pg wants or he doesn't give me the ball, but it drains my guys stamina(regardless how high an attribute its at) randomly running around the court trying to do a single play.

I have shot close, medium at 75+ yet I still miss these easy shots even if they're wide open. And my guy can't dunk even though he's a 6'6 SF! How high does my dunk and/or vertical rating need to be for my guy to dunk.
dont use turbo as much or just take a shorter route to your assigned spot( i do it all the time because i dont want to be jammed in the paint)...once im there i wait until the PG starts the play and if i dont get the ball i leave the area and go for the rebound

do you have your consistency and shoot off dribble up? it could be why you're missing

im not sure about the dunking...i would think 80's in both vertical and dunk would allow your person to dunk effectively...even so....vertical is probably more important to have this early in your career(it helps with rebounding and blocks)...no need to drive the ball inside just yet...work on your outside shooting first(medium range and 3-pt)

Crazy objectives, once they gave me an objective in which i had to force my matchup to commit at least 14 turnovers and i was like wtf. Currently in season 2, my player website in my signature

OK, if I get the ball at the top with my PF and hit LB, icons come up for all players, including myself. If I press "Y" (my icon) It calls for me to give it to the PG and sends me to the near block for a quick postup. It also seems to give both guards "A" icons. Wierd.

Call me crazy, but I think you can call plays with anyone. I haven't gotten it to work consistently...Problem #1 for me is getting the PG to give me the ball in enough time to call something, and then problem 2 is that you have to call something quickly and then wait until everyone gets into position...without getting a "hold ball too long". The only time I can get this to work is when the CPU play calls for me to be on the perimeter.

It seems wonky like the demo playcalling.

So I need to increase consistency and shoot off dribble in order to make these shots? Cause most times I miss, I find the shot usually goes short.

I managed to get my guy to dunk by getting him to 40 rating on dunking. I don't really think I need vertical since my guy is crazy on rebounds but is there anything else vertical does?

He currently has a 58 rating on 3 pointers but its like 600 points to upgrade 3 pointers while most other things are 300 and under.

the shots that fall short are usually contested shots when i take them...even though i have shooting maxed out it still happens...contested shots are just really weird after the patch

vertical should help you with blocks since your player jumps higher...

you could spread your skill points to other areas where you think are important but like i said before...awareness, rebounding, shot in traffic along with an inside game isnt really that helpful earlier in your career...you could focus on ball security

OK, my player just pissed me the hell off. I was on a fast break running down the middle with a guy on the wing and their C running with me, i tossed it up for an alley-oop and my SF Damion James jammed it home. What happens?! i get docked for a "Bad pass" and don't even get an assist or alley-oop points! gimme a break! This My Player mode is interesting but it ticks me off more than impresses me.

Also, i hate the fact that i get docked when i'm guarding my opposing PG on the perimeter and if lebron James gets a lay-up i get docked for allowing player to score. That's not even my matchup! pfft! Don't know how much longer i can endure. Great concept though!

I answered this one in another thread. Yes you can call plays from any position as long as you have floor general status. You just wont have the menu. the reason the X comes up of the PG's head is, all play start through him.
The best way to get the play ran that you want it to grab the defensive rebound and call the play before you get to half court. Then make sure you are in you spot quickly, as the PG will break the play if he sees an open man or you take to long to get to your spot.

You have to pick and choose how you answer the questions. Sometime arrogance is the best way to go. It will give you 3 up arrows. Best example is in the playoff when they ask you if you and you team are preparing for the next opponents. The arrogant answer will get you 3 up arrows; because you basically tell them that your team is the one the opponent should be preparing for not the other way around.
