Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)

After the patch dropped I wanted to start a new guy because I want accurate coaches and a clean start free of issues. I re-made my 6'8" All-Around Small Forward (T-Mac mold) and was picked up in the first round by the Raptors (13th pick). I'm playing on default settings. I came into the league a starter and made Toronto a powerhouse, #1 seed through 20 something games.

I was averaging about 20 points, 12 rebounds, 8-9 assists, and 2 turnovers. However, I didn't really like my teammates except Bargnani. I want to be on a team with some young stars to grow with me and good big men (sick of making Ed Davis a star). I requested a trade to Houston (favorite team), New Jersey (team my old my player was on pre-patch), or Chicago (currently live here). I figured I don't see a future in Toronto so i might as well cut ties sooner rather than later.

I ended up in Jersey 3-5 games after my request. I THEN decided to check out my new team. Worst record in the league with only 4 wins total, and 3% chemistry. They're playing me as a 6th man. I'm primarily the back-up 2 guard which I am fine with except I don't get Key Games off the bench! Hopefully they're not gone for good as I thought I read that some people lost key games permanently after getting traded.

I like Jersey but have only been getting 6-8 boards a game here, but my assists have increased to about 12-13. Although I've only played like 3 games. In the main menu I looked up and learned the playbook for both a backup and starting 3. I'm excited to start because I like those plays better. I think I have a home here. but it's going to be quite a task pulling us out of the gutter. 3 and 0 since my arrival is a good sign though especially since we beat Orlando, OKC, and New Orleans.

I wouldn't say harder. It depends on the playbook I think. Pre-patch you could run the pick and roll all day as there were no set plays. Post-patch, it seems like whenever I try to do the pick and roll, they set the pick but don't roll! Post-patch, I think it depends on the playbook.

I get a lot of assists to Lopez because 35 Delay Post and 15 Cross Post both often have the ball go through me last before hitting Lopez for the score. I also call 53 Roll a lot which is essentially a fancy pick and roll with me and Lopez which can often get him open for the dunk. In Jersey I have real bigs in Lopez and Favors who bang in the paint. Bargnani was a beast, but plays were often designed to put him on the perimeter (which is a lower percentage shot). Basically it's the better teammates and better playbook that is giving me more assists, but it's also the same thing factoring in me getting less boards (better bigs actually playing in the paint).

        Edit:

I just dropped 15 points (7-9 shooting), 16 rebounds (I think I'll be fine here), 22 assists, 1 steal, and 3 turnovers as a 55 rated Small Forward off the bench (only one penalty for holding the ball all game too). I can't imagine the type of dimes I'd drop as a PG. Lopez, Favors and Harris are beasts. I think I'm going to like it in Jersey.

YOU WHAT YOU NEED TO DO IS MAKE YOUR OFFENSIVE AWARENESS AND DEFENSIVE AWARENESS TO 99 AND YOU WELL JUMP TO 60 RANKING OR 55 RANKING

And you releasing the button at the right time for the roll? I still get assists a lot of the times I use the PnR.

I think I am doing better this time around after my player data corruption. I am averaging 12.0 pts, 3.4 assits and 1.1 rebounds a game at 5'7 150 pounds except i really want to work on my speed and quickness or should i work on DUnks first?

                Wow.

                I'm a 47 OVR 6'6 PG for the Trail-Blazers, 6th-ish game of the season.

Played a key game vs. LAL, and blew them out by 30. Hit 3 milestones for a total of 5k skill points, and my x-box crashes at the summary screen.

Think I'm going to end my own life now, laters all~

meh, i prefer an outside game first...especially with a shorter player(although i would do the same thing with a taller player as well)

too much contact in the paint gets risky when your other attributes are low because you opted to get dunk up instead...dunk is pretty costly

So when do you know that you been selected for the Rookie Game in the all-star weekend? It's like less than a month away and I don't know if I'm getting in. I avg 18.9, 10.6, 4.4 right now and I'm 60 overall.

How exactly did your data get corrupted? I think I may have suffered the same fate. I keep getting an error message 80010038 when I try to load it up.

Well, last night I upped the difficulty to All-Star because the games have become way too easy blowing out powerhouses with the worst team in the league. I ended up losing to Minnesota (of all teams) in overtime!! We luckily bounced back in a nail-biter against Chicago. I was afraid my stats would take a hit due to stupid teammate AI and tough D, but I was still able to dominate... it was just MUCH harder (and more realistic). The days of 20+ assists and 12-12 shooting are long gone. But I still did okay.

                            41 points (16-29 FG, 4-9 3PT, 5-6 FT), 16 rebounds, 12 assists, 3 blocks, 2 turnovers in a 107-111 OT loss @ Minnesota.

                            30 points (12-22 FG, 1-2 3PT, 5-5 FT), 12 rebounds, 14 assists, 1 block, 3 turnovers.

I don't like super unrealistic stats and winning every game, so this should be good. As it stands, making the playoffs at this juncture would be a miracle.

Here's the lowdown on my guy. The Nets were 4-24 before I showed up but we're now 7-1 since my arrival and team chemistry has tripled! The Raptors were 21-7 before I left and are now 0-8 (and still falling) since my departure.

One cool thing is I checked out my endorsements post-trade. While my magazine cover still has me on the Raps (as it should), Jordan shelled out the money to reflect my change in scenery on his Billboard. My billboard now shows me in a Nets uniform.

Well I finished a heartbreaking Game 7 Eastern Conf Finals last night against the Celtics. We were down 97-100 with just 6sec to go, I went to go for a 3 but wasnt lined up right and hit a 2 instead -_- making it 99-100. Well we steal the throw in and the ball is in my hands with the clock about to hit 0:00 I'm about 3ft away from the actual 3pt line and got the ball off good....the freaking ball actually rolls around the rim before getting spit out and the Celts hang on to win 99-100 in game 7 of the eastern conf finals.....I'm actually surprised we made it to game 7 because we were down 0-2 before tying it up 2-2 and eventually went 3-3. I had a career high 36pts that night to.

However I just felt our team chemistry wasnt there at the start of the series, hell we had to play Atlanta to 7 games the series before, and I had to carry the team to wins in games 6 and 7 of that series because LeBron and D-Wade were just not getting it done, I thought the Celtics were going to sweep us because of how poor the Big 3 were playing the first few games. I opted to stay with the Heat but will not hesitate to leave for either the Bucks, Mavs, or Rockets (who lost in 7 to the Celtics in the Finals.)
