I just played the season opener against the last team I played in season 1 (Bulls) and the team that officially eliminated us from making the playoffs.

We barely won 95-88

Me:
25 points, 12 rebounds, 12 assists, 2 steals, 5 blocks, 3 turnovers

Melo:
29 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, 1 turnover

I actually love having a running buddy on the wing with me. Not all our points have to be from cuts to the basket as Melo can shoot. he actually missed a lot of easy layups. I found a new play (since our old SG was Sasha, we never once ran a play for him), that has Melo throwing it inside to me, then me kicking it back out to him for the J. Nice.

My stats will definitely take a hit this year as I won't have to do as much. Also, according to the game I played 40 minutes real time (12 minute quarters), so my stats aren't astronomical anyway. I'm not that good like Enigma where I can drop 100 in 20 minutes or whatever. Still, even with the long quarters it's fun as hell watching Melo do his thing.

Edit: Game 2, and I'm the 6th man!! LOL. I should be insulted since this is MY team, but whatever. Maybe I can win the 6th man award. The rookie we drafted is the starting 2.

I have a big final two games in the season. One game back from the playoffs. We just easily beat the Spurs. My last two oppenents are 7th and 8th in conference. If I win out I am 7th. If I go 1-1, some chance at 8th. Final game is a Rival.

i find myself on a lot of fastbreak opportunities due to the forced turnovers i create by playing the passing lanes(it doesnt hurt that the cpu on my team does that too)...my primary form of defense is steals...to not even let them have the opportunity to score in the first place...my spg(4.3 compared to 4.9) is a bit lower than last season's output but it's still marginally higher than a realistic simulation so im not overly sad about it(it's what helped get me defensive player of the year since i cant make a block to save my life)...but yeah...lots of easy scoring opportunities open up from fastbreak and the pick and roll scheme i employ

im a bit envious of your current situation though...i wouldnt mind being in a 6th man role(sort of like playing the role of a player like manu ginobili where you know you're a star on the team but you could still shine as a role player) but it just seems like the game doesnt allow me to stay as a player that comes off the bench even as i was developing my player earlier on since the minutes of playing time just kept adding up after every game....i didnt want to become a starter until at least the second or third year to make things more realistic for a 19 year old player...i wanted to do well enough to win both rookie of the year and 6th man but i just got the former and a full time starting gig

I wouldn't be too envious of my situation. It's a weird one. I quit my second game early so I could watch a show with my girl. I just went to play it now. I went to restart to have an easier objective and I'm the starter. I tried restarting again, backup. Again, starter. WEIRD! I wonder if this is going to be like this all season. I actually want to be the starting SF for the playbook. That half a quarter as a backup was brutal. I really hope I become the steady starter and this shuffling doesn't happen all season. I may have to start the offseason again if it does.

mp mode really cheated us out of all the available dunk packages....shawn kemp's contact dunks are vicious with my created player on player lock association... had two contact dunks against the suns last night

but back on topic...i think it's only momentarily...it will eventually become fixed and carmelo would probably play the 2 spot

Speaking of Melo. I'm not seeing the problem where elite players jack up bad shots, ball hog, and shoot 20%.

Edit: Started the next game to see what would happen. I'm the 6th man and our rookie is the starter playing 3 minutes a game, I quit and restart and I'm still the 6th man. I simmed ahead to the next game (what would have been my key game against LeBron), still the 6th man. This sucks.

I'm a 68 overall and so is he but he's 66 due to low mood. So I'm rated higher. I don't get it. If I increase my stamina, I know my minutes will go up and I'll get the nod, but I don't want to increase them anymore. This had better level out soon. I love playing with Melo but am wondering if I made a mistake taking him on.

i know...maybe it's just more frustrating for users who are just starting out...since they have to be more reliant on other scorers? idk...seems more likely to me...

i was drafted to the thunder(i didnt keep that game file) and durant made lots of his shots....the only person who missed was james harden...it also somewhat helped that the thunder had players switch around all over the floor(well just durant to power foward....everything else was detrimental) because i was able to run the pick and roll with durant...he dunks it in most of the time...windmill, tomahawk...whatever...he did it....this was before i knew you could run the pick and roll with any player and not just the PF and C

We made the playoffs. Won 4 straight games. Deron Williams got hurt though(minor). I miss 20 games in the season. It looks like Im not goin to win ROY.
Got selected to Rookie Team. We are 8th. I am facing the team I got traded away from 1st round in the playoffs. I led all rookie in points and rebounds.
I have Shot mid, shot in traffic and off dribble, ball handle, and vertical maxed out.

Just lost Game 1 of the 1st round. We were down 12 at 4th Q. We came back to 1. Then they stop call plays for me and my teammates started to miss and take bad shots. Then Thunder started to make there shots. I shut down Durant to 19.
Before the playoffs I had a win streak because my teammates were contributing. I had no plans for playoffs, when I saw 6 games left at 9th in conference, we faced Lakers Twice(lost both) and Spurs(won), and all the teams were in the top eight.
I think we can tie it up. If I can keep Durant under 20, Me shoot at least 55% and 25+, and two teammates score 15+.

I achieved most of my attribute goals. Next will be On Ball Def(81), Dunk(63), Off H Dribble(50).
Ball handle makes a huge difference. Since I have to create my on looks(because of playbook) I can get open.
Besides Defense, my most glaring need is Speed(70). Since I maxed Ball Handle I need more speed to attack the basket and fastbreaks. I can now focus all my drills next season to dribble course. Speed is too expensive to do by game alone. It will take 10-15 good games to increase speed by 10. I cant do that to start the season off because I have other areas to improve.
I am waiting to get My Jordan Shot med shoes 3+ or 5+(not the signature shoes). I got 26-40 my jordans.My Shot Med, shot in traffic and off dribble is maxed and Consistency and Off Clutch is 90. But, I cant shoot consistently from mid range.

I can see what people complain about having rubbish team mates, i was getting double teamed so I chucked the ball out to Gasol who fed it to Mayo, who was wide open at the centre of the 3 point arc, he throws up an airball....

So what attributes are going to get my player better faster?

Anyone ever had to take it to the D-league?

In game 2 now against my former team in the 1st round. they are number one and we are number 8. I went from a Up tempo 3pt team to a defensive 3pt team. I cant shoot 3pt shots(dont plan to boost 3pt yet). I had to create shots for both teams. We(Jazz) are 2th in points allowed and They(Thunder) are 2th in points per game. I want to be a catch and shoot guy, but with the playbook I have to move up in to traffic.
