After 10 games before I got injured. Both the Heat and Lakers were in the bottom of the conference.
When I played the Heat the first game with Pistons, Lebron was not difficult to cover. As long as you dont let him drive he is not difficult to shut him down

it's really easy to beat the heat...you just double bosh inside and from mid-range if you can afford it...i'll let lebron take contested 3's and long range jumpers any day...only problem is dwayne wade keeps sinking the corner 3's

As long as you have Shot in Traffic maxed, you can make most of the near buckets. My Shot Inside and Layup are under 70, but I can make most of the shots under the basket.

Wade is the major concern. He will make most of the shots. Bosh will score.
Is it me or that CPU big men teammates is not capable of stopping post up shots.

not just you...when the cpu opponent goes for a post spin move then a jumpshot...it's mostly pointless for me to crash the boards unless the shot has a high arch

Cpu big man makes almost 50-70% of the post shots. I cant try to help teammates with post shots because I will leave someone wide open.
Even though I can say that my defense needs alot of work(mainly timing), I try to get matched on the best scorer before we get defensive matchups.

lol im always standing at the midway point between my man and the opposing big man that is posting up my teammate(namely chuck hayes)

i swear...they continue to start chuck hayes at C even though yi jianlian is in the lineup at PF...I HATE CHUCK HAYES

I give up a lot of points because I sag off. The only play tight defense on elite players. I always stay between my matchup and someone elses(and to get rebounds ). I need to work on timing for offense and defense. I get blocks time-to-time. But I dont time contesting shots. I dont time passes correctly. Most of the turnovers come from 13 UP, if I dont run my route correctly it will be a turnover 7/10 times.

For making layups more often, one thing that really helps is actually attempting a layup and not a dunk. Basically, don't hold RT/R2, and if you have an angle at the backboard, holding LT/L2 (after your layup animation starts) seems to up your chances to use the glass. Just be sure to always use the shot stick to pick the approach that looks best -- left vs right, tear drop, etc. After that, it's in fate's hands.

Defending the CPU bigs in the post is much easier with a zone defense than man-to-man. It's like your AI teammates get instantly smarter and actually play the passing lanes like the CPU does, plus their closer vicinity makes the bigs' post-move shots miss more often. Only problem is, you give up wide open 3's -- especially at the top of the key -- and you'll get a few defensive 3 seconds calls against you. Against Yao, Dirk or Duncan, it's a pretty fair trade.

As a PF, I also like to try to take charges when they're backing me down. Even when you get called for blocking (when it's clearly not...), the game still rates it as a "good foul".

This mode really needs a "Captain" type of role/assignment that will give you access to the defensive match-ups screen. The CPU makes bad decisions in regards to who to sag off/deny ball and double team, not to mention the match-up nightmare that Boston causes when they put Nate Robinson at SG... He dropped 28 points in a quarter on me.

Alright, I'm loving this mode much more now that I'm on the Lakers. I cheese it with Gasol and Bynum in the post and Kobe is consistently knocking down at least 45% of his shots. Our team has a 5 game winning streak going and I'm not even averaging more than 30 ppg. =)

i've actually gotten like around 4 or so charges total for and against me in my past 10 games....it was unexpected to say the least

i got both nash and wade to turn the ball over on a charge...i plowed over kyle lowry and derrick rose in the paint to turn the ball over myself..
