Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)

I have 2k10 but never tried this mode. After skimming through this thread, I will give it a try soon.

How long does it take to play a game with 6 min. qtrs? What length do most people play?
It's on me. I shook his hand too hard. It was a hard ... kind of a slap-shake.

"What? You can't challenge a scoring play?''

Do you get bonus XP for making playoffs, winning championship, advancing to second season etc?

I'm getting awfully bored sitting at 55 overall and getting my standard 1200-1700 per game in the middle of January. I want the games to mean something and get some major XP.

depends on foul trouble and how much minutes you're allocated in terms of playing time...when you're just first starting your career...you will barely play a whole quarter(if that)...

2k10 is actually pretty fun...the teammate shooting % is great in that year's version...

I play at 12 minute quarters for the sole purpose of being able to have a chance to compare between my player and HOFers (Jordan, Shaq, etc)

I wouldn't do 6 minute quarters because the time you spend on the bench would make the games extremely short.

How can you possibly have enough time to play through multiple seasons at 12 min quarters to compare to HOF'ers?

            Can you sim games?

I never got past the combine games in NBA 2k10. I just stopped playing it. I will continue to NBA 2k11 until March(when all good games come out.)

yes you can sim but it's done only from the quit menu while you're in the game...there's no super sim feature on your calendar

again....the minutes of each game simulate when your player isnt on the floor...

i play with 12 minute quarters but my person is only in the game for like 25 minutes total...because of foul trouble

i stopped after the regular season of season 2 on 2k10 because my stats got erased...i averaged like 18apg and by the end of the season it glitched up and said i averaged 0apg

i'll probably continue playing 2k11 until i reach all those milestones....but as of right now im having fun with it

Once MLB The Show+2k11 comes out RTTS and My Player will get most of my free time.

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)

                    I just experienced an epiphany.

I've been gaming for 20 years but never bothered with "My player'' modes, being a hard-core sim addict. But after checking out some of Nadasfan's My player videos for NBA 2k11 and especially his Joe Broadway series on MLB 2k10, I thought I'd give it a try on NBA 2k10.

I completely stink, got manhandled and embarrassed, and the commentator (or whatever that guy is) trashed me big-time in my first two summer league games.

But I had fun. And I'm looking forward to playing more and getting better. This mode really opens up a whole new aspect of gaming that I never even considered. I'm going to try it in NCAA Football 11 and Madden 10, if there is such a feature there.

It seems to me this kind of mode would work best in baseball, with its one-on-one batter vs. pitcher battles. So I can't wait for MLB 2k11.

OK, perhaps I'll get away from Simulation. First game, I went 0-14 from the field. YIKES! I did have 8 assists and 7 rebounds, so not bad. I would've had a lot more assists, but my teammates missed a ton of easy looks, too.

football games have had this type of mode before basketball games...i forgot what it was called for ncaa but madden has a mode called superstar mode...

it might be more so based on your attributes than your actual settings...try working on your shot off-dribble and consistency

no clue why the teammate AI just suck so bad in this mode but lots of people debate the issue of whether or not simulation or default is the best fit

On NCAA it's called Road to Glory. But My Player in 2k is much better than its counterpart in the EA football games.

In Road to Glory in NCAA 11, I managed to boost my QB's rating to a 99 overall before I even played my first game.

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)

I think MLB The Show still sets the bar with these single player modes, but FIFA and NHL's are pretty good. They suffer from similar bugs as NBA 2K's MyPlayer mode though. Getting the teammate AI to play reasonably when you only control one player seems to be the hurdle for every game. Last-gen, Madden's was pretty good, but this generation... bleh.

You'll definitely find higher fg%'s on the Default setting and contested jumpers will land more often; the Simulation setting doesn't affect your player as much as it does the AI, both your teammates' and opponents'. With lower shooting percentages you'll get many more rebounds, of course, which is good too.

If you're playing a PF/C, be sure to put points in your Shot Close/Inside, Strength and Offensive Post ratings early on. The post-up game is awesome.

Like ENiGMA said, consistency really helps. Leave your Awareness and Emotion for last, unless you really want that 99 OVR.

Outside of just shooting, Simulation will give both teams more turnovers and fouls, but you'll rarely see any fastbreaks. Whatever rings your bell.

If they simply allowed us to edit sliders for MP it would fix so much. It doesn't matter what skill level I play on SIM or NORMAL everyone shoots 30%. It's mind numbing.
