Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)

I'm only getting like 1500-1700 a game. You do get a crap load of drills and points when you start though. I just dumped them all into one attribute.

By the way, a cool little feature I noticed. I saved to a different file and requested a trade to Houston just to see what would happen. If you look in the rumor mill, your name and face pop up in there. Rumors had me going to NY, Minnesota, and had Golden State saying I'm not worth my asking price (ouch). Finally, I was shipped to our arch-rivals, the Jazz! The Grizz management can be some mean MFers! needless to say, I didn't save that.

I also realize that the reason I've been playing so much PF is that Randolph has been out with a concussion.

I average around 1850 skill points per game I would guess.

How many injuries have you guys gotten? I'm on my fourth right now, this is getting ridiculous but its also cool as hell. Can't I get a few good seasons in before I end up like T-Mac or G.Hill or P.Hardaway.

Streets, you'll probably still be getting a lot of minutes at PF when Randolph is at full strength. When I was in Memphis I was in the same position. Bumping Gay out of SF minutes is tough as hell.

Getting traded to the team you want is very hard.

I've asked to be traded twice, neither of my destinations were on my list. I'm in Golden State now, starting, so I'm content with staying here till free agency.

@infam0us: I've had two lower back strains and one twisted ankle so far.

Got my 6'8" Defensive SF drafted to the Heat in the second round. I made it onto the NBA roster. It's a disaster. Bosh was injured early in the first quarter after already being blown out. So I get subbed in and so far I've been assigned Ray Allen, Rondo, Garnett, and Shaq. And it's almost half-time. Here's a pic of the game I'm currently playing. Thought you all might enjoy it. (Might be huge. At least look at the score.)

Also, i suck at every drill lol
Same here, I was drafted 7th in the second round and I'm a 6'4" SG all around. I just scored 11 in my 3rd game, but overall, I suck. I'm having a good time other than frustrating moments every once in awhile.
How the heck are you guys scoring so many points!? I may have to start over or something because I get about 500 - 700 points a game.

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)

So i made a 6ft. 2in. athletic point gaurd 210lbs. i was drafted 29th in the first round by the magic. i have played 16 games so far on 12min. quarters and have done the following:
                1. Avg. 21.3ppg, 4.8apg, 4.4rebounds per game
                2. Endorcement by the jordan brand and got a billboard
                3. Named played of the week
                4. Just got the starting position a game ago and get around 35mins. per game.

I found that, well atleast as a point gaurd, the easiest ways to score is abuse the **** out of the pump fake. dont be afraid to do it just about everytime u get the ball. A lot of the time ur defender will jump and u can run right past him and get to the hole. Another thing u can try is the hopback or stepback. get as far in as ur defender will let u the use the hopstep while holding back. gather urself and shoot the mid range jumper. These things have really helped me out.
Oh 1 more thing. get ur on ball defence up to about 80 so u dont get burned on d.

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)

I'm a 6'4" scoring SG like in real life. I was drafted 2nd round to Miami. I requested trade and got sent to Houston. I'm now a starter. I don't have much time so I only play 5min quarters. My defense sucks big time but my offense is great. I have the Rockets in 2nd in the west. I'm averaging 30ppg even with the 5min quarters. I always score at least half my teams points. I only average 1.3 assist and 1.3 rebound though

I have my rid range and 3pt up high. Plus ball handing is super high. I have dunk high enough to dunk(55). I haven't touched my defense though haha. Should I work on defense? It doesnt slow me down at all though I'm sure it would help my team mate rating

This is a great thread, guys!!

I love this game mode, but haven't started My Player yet - I wan't the CPU to run plays, so I'm waiting for the patch which will (hopefully) fix this.

I have a question though. It's been said numerous times in this thread, that if you want to get a better OVR you should put skill points into offensive/defensive awareness. But since you control the player yourself, does this actually make the player play better? Or is it just for looks...?

You will notice a diffrence with how he moves around on either end of the court. I made the mistake the other night of doing a Jordan challenge and then playing my player.

It was like going from a F16 to a paper airplane lol, my guys Off / Def aware is like 40 I have been dumping points into other things at the moment.

Loving this mode! Started off slowly, but once I started getting more minutes Ive been going off each game. Ive had 3 triple doubles in the last 5 games. Won Player of the Week in the 3rd week of the season!

At first when I was drafted to OKC I thought *** Im never going to start.
Well, Im still not starting yet but Im second to Durant on the team in PPG and leading the league in PER. My dunk rating(50) hasnt been touched(just changed dunk package to rimgrazer) and am dunking with ease.
Nothing flashy but still feels great!
Currently focusing on getting multiple attributes to at least 70.

Shot Close: 82 Shot Medium: 74 Layup: 84 Handles: 77 Off Hand: 75
Ball Security: 70 Passing: 75 Currently working on Rebounds, SIT and SOD.

Im not worried about getting any rating to an extreme level yet, as to me ratings are a bit "overrated." As long as you have decent ratings and play the right way your going to do well. Id rather not have any glaring weaknesses instead of excelling in only one or two attributes.

Ive found more success when playing PG than SG. I use the quick pick and roll w/ Durant or Green alot and on occasion the Quick Screen.
The Pick and Roll helps so much with getting players open or moving even if the roll man doesnt end up getting the ball someone usually ends up open or I get an easy layup.

I'm a 6'9 232lb SF. I was drafted 29th by the Grizzlies. I am kind of a Larry Bird type player. Everything is going great, but last night against the Suns something weird happened. I drove into the lane, and picked up a foul against Josh Childress. It was his 6th foul of the game and they said he had fouled out. He however didn't leave the game, and the next trip down the court, he fouled me again! He finished the game on the court and had 7 fouls!
