I accomplished most of my Game milestones before my first Key game. I just accomplished my first 30 point game. I had 38 points. I missed 3 easy layups stopping my 40 points game and a win. I had 15 layups. I wanted to wait until my first Key game but I got 30 by the 3rd quarter.

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
My player is now getting me really mad, on my new player I finished my first combine game with a D-.
- I throw a pass to a teamate and he will just run away from it and it gets stolen.
- I'll be wide open on a break and instead of passing it to me my team just shoots a fadeaway three.
- I get bad shot calls no matter if i'm at the rim, shooting a wide open jumper, or etc. But everyone else on my team just runs in circles with the ball until there's five seconds left on the clock and shoots.
Is this just happening to me? BTW I'm only on Pro...Comment

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
Just maxed Vertical. I am about to max Stamina, Hustle, Hands, Pass, Ball Security. Still havent improved shooting yet. I am focusing on the little things first.
I will wait a week before the trade deadline to ask for a trade. We have way too many Guards on our teams. There is alot of times where there is 4 guards(3 PGs) and 1 SF on the court. We lose alot because we our Guards and SF cant matchup with Big men. And I cant Pick and Roll with GuardsComment

i use default also.
Im with the bulls in my 2nd season and we are sitting in 2nd place in the eastern conference. One thing i dont get is we have a good record, all my teamates have good numbers yet our chemistry keeps dropping each game?Comment

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
beats me man...i've gave up on what brings up team chemistry....
im at a whopping 0%
Anyone else have trouble getting their player to move how they want on def? I've tried everything I could possibly do (hold L2 off ball, sprint when defending back door, playing passing lane) and yet I still end up out of position because my player decides he's going to run in a circle or something.
i dont know if this is what you're talking about but my player occasionally back spins to chase after a player who drives past me....im thinking it's the animations way to shorten your player's route to defending the basket...sometimes it works to your advantage because i've gotten a few chase down blocks with it
Hi, I'm new here. I absolutely love the My Player in NBA 2k11. You can really make a difference in your team's play unlike in other sports game player modes. I have played with a 7 foot 5 inch and 275 pound guy on a hall of fame difficulty and 12 min. In 55 games my averages so far are 39 points, 20 rebounds and of those 11.9 offensive rebounds, 3.4 assists, 0.6 steals, 11.9 blocks, 0.618% FG, 77% FT and 2.6 TO. My OVR right now is 81.
it's a bit weird though because in the off-season now...i see other team rosters with an inflated number of PG's on their depth chart...like the lakers literally had like 8 PG's....im guessing that number goes down before the start of the season due to cuts....or it was the game's way of showing everyone on that team including d-league players? either way, i just didnt know how it would work out in actual gameplay but im guessing it would be like your situation....then again...you're like only on your first year and im just ramblingLast edited by -ENiGMA724-; 02-19-2011, 03:36 PM.Comment

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
Hey i'm new to NBA 2k11 and have been trying to play my player for a couple days. I was pretty good at Live last year and switched over. I'm on my fifth player because i keep restarting. Right now i'm an athletic SG and keep having the same problems.
- The computer always take random fade away threes but when i drive and get to the rim I get a bad shot selection.
- It always seems to switch who i'm covering out of nowhere and then the guy scores and I lose points.
I'm playing on Pro and am still getting dominated and average a C. So can you give me advice on what to do and can help me with my attributes for making a driving SG or SF and can you help me with my driving, it's kind of hard getting past my defender?
but back on point, the random and poor shot selection your teammate chooses to do is a flaw in this year's game and it doesnt help that FG% has been scaled down a bit also...hopefully you can get your player high enough in team status that they will be more incline to pass the ball to your player rather than shoot anything and everything....
in regards to your problem, a contested layup or dunk inside the paint can result in a bad shot attempt and you will get penalized...if they're penalizing you for wide open layups or dunks then i have no clue what is going on with your game
it was very noticeable when the game kept deducting teammate grade points from my player because the man i was supposed to be guarding kept switching non-stop depending on where i was on the floor and what was happening at the time(fastbreak or help defense)...but if i were you i wouldnt worry too much about that...there are so many other things on offense(setting screens, assist, rebounding, boxing out, scoring open shots) or defense(pass deflection, steal, block, rebound, double team)that can easily bring your teammate grade back up despite the bogus subtraction
in order to get past your defender...speed is quite essential and once you get that up hopefully your abilities on using ISO's can match the cheesy defensive A.I. set in place that sucks your player into them...i usually like stringing spins with crossovers to get pass my man(still have a lot of difficulties with it and my stats are maxed out)...just practice a bit on your ISO moves or make sure you have enough spacing between you and your defender before you hold down turbo
as always, for any position other than at the PF/C, i will always suggest improving medium range shooting, consistency, and shoot off-dribble...once you're a threat from that range...you can work on your layups...if done right, you can fake your opponent out from the triple threat position with jab steps and pumpfakes all the while clearing space to the basket for a layup(hopefully a wide open lane to the cup)
My player is now getting me really mad, on my new player I finished my first combine game with a D-.

it's still a bit early in your career but hopefully with a few more games and more statistical output from your player your teammates will stop acting like complete idiots and share some of the ball handling responsibility when you ask for the ballComment

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
and from my experience, the bulls never seemed to play anyone out of position at the PF and C spot...the hawks also did a good job with using josh smith and al horford....
my best advice is to just pick a team with your favorite PF and C...and if they're all-star caliber players then it's likely they'll play lots of minutes rather than remain on the bench...i usually choose teams with young players at important positions so that i can build around them(i was just lucky that the kings already had kevin love)
as a PG, i would like playing for these teams due to their PF/C
-bulls(boozer, noah)
-celtics(garnett, shaq)****they're old though
-clippers(griffin, jordan, kaman)
-grizzlies(randolph, gasol)
-hawks(smith, horford)
-kings(landry, thompson, cousins)
-lakers(gasol, bynum, odom)***also old so meh
-nets(favors, lopez)
-pacers(hanbrough, hibbert)
-blazers(aldridge, camby, oden)
-warriors(lee, biedrins)***i just dont like this team because of the monta and curry issue...
the magics are okay with bass and howard but they're stacked at the PG's with arenas and nelson so i would avoid that team...unless they can trade away both nelson and arenas for other players
i would also suggest the knicks with amar'e but like two or three people are having problems with that team trading away all of their role players so that causes too much discomfort for me to be on a team that isnt keeping much stabilityLast edited by -ENiGMA724-; 02-19-2011, 04:28 PM.Comment

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
i wasnt too sure if he was talking about the shift in momentum and change of direction(sort of like cuts made by football players when they run routes) that was causing the delayed reaction by his player's feet
but if the defensive assist thing helped thenComment
