Finally i'm a Laker. I made 3 point specialist PG just for the Lakers. I developed my pass and defense. I'm trying to play team basketball cuz i have Kobe and Gasol so i don't have to score so much now.

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
Found the trade option (finally!, I must of been blind)... opened it up and see teams interested in me... heat, CELTICS, and rockets... so i put that i want to be traded to celtics, my home team!... Just played one game and reporters asked me about it after, played the "i dont know what ur talking about role." Didnt get a chance for a second game, and on the trading block the celtics are trying to work a deal to get me. Cant wait to get home and play to see what happens...
I'd come off the bench for the celts but hey i come off the bench now for the kings... so why not...Comment

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
I have a question if someone could help:
1. What is the trick to get better shooting %? I was drafted by the Kings and I realize that we are not going to be world beaters right now, but it is an accomplishment to get 80 points a game anymore. It is frustrating, I watch my PG dribble all the way down and shoot from behind the basket, players shooting with double teams; it just seems unrealistic to me. I do not really want to request a trade because I want to play as realistic as possible, but I also want to enjoy the game.
Just an FYI, I play on All-Star Simulation with 12 min qtrs.Comment

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
I would call for a dbl as soon as the ball comes in. let them score on someone else as the ball rotates so you dont get the neg pointsmyplayer:
(1)5'10 PG, drafted 2nd round by the knicks. moved to the clippers in season 2
(2)7'5 C, drafted 26th in 1st round by Thunder. After winning the championship with the Thunder, I signed with the Chicago Bulls
NBA - Magic, Kings
NFL - 49ersComment

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
boooo freakin lost a game today to the pacers to snap a 22 game win streak. 5 min quarters, 4 min left in the 4th quarter, i got us to within 2 after being down 10. then freakin antoni calls a timeout and pulls me! i still had more than 3/4 of my energy bar left. they put me back in with 1:45 left and the team was down 9 now. i hit 2 quick 3's to get us back to down 3 but by then it was time to start trading fouls and we ended up losing by 5.
on the up side, i got the knicks to 2nd place in the east, 2 games back from 1st. started in 8th and got a hot streak to get us to 2ndmyplayer:

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
Anyone know why my myplayers started freezing on the "Joining Pickup Game" screen? Kind of came out of the blue and I'm not entirely sure why.
Was doing so well on the leaderboards too, but the only time I do well is from a guard spot (for some reason crappy pointguards ignore all the forward spots and I wind up with low PPG but A+ because of screens and rebounds and assists) and both my SG and my PG freeze upon "Joining Match" meanwhile none of the rest of my dudes do. Could it be because they're 99 overall? No one else is for me, which is what trips me out because I'd really like to play them onlineComment

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
Is there a level my blocking attribute needs to be before my hand becomes solid...
I have 99 vert and my blocking is still low at 75 but alot of times i predict a shot perfectly and do everything right...i check the replay and the ball is going right through my hand...
Lebron hit a game winning 2 in my face and i look at the replay and the ball is going straight through the palm...it hurts the soul...My random gameplay youtube:

I know how you feel. I love the Kings but they shoot terribly. My first three My Players I played for the kings and it was mind numbing. There's a few things I noticed. On Pro Default they shoot a tiny bit better but there's almost no fouls called. The cpu on default shoots lights out. I hated both of those things so I went back to sim...however this is where it gets interesting....
Now, this may sound crazy, and I've been working on this myself but I'm still low in shooting % attributes, however, I notice everyone here with higher shooting attributes don't have much of a problem with teammates shooting. I always read the same thing "Just wait till after your first season, it's gets better" or "I don't know what to say, I don't have that problem" while they're putting up 50 points a game and shooting 50% or better.
I think it may all be tied (Not by design) to your own attributes.
This really affects big men as we don't throw much into 3pt or midrange shooting.
My first three big men had low 3% shooting. As a team, each diferrent time, they shot around the .28% mark. During my last guys run with the Kings I dumped points into 3pt shooting to see if it would help anythng, and it miraculously jumped up to just above .33% per game
It all falls in line with what everyone is saying by not having problems, however most don't play big men and put alot into 3pt and mid range shooting.
Idk. Right now it's just a theory I can't really prove until I get my newest player up there in attributes.
Although I will say right now I play for the lakers, (11 games now as my 4th My Player) and they're dead last in three point shooting at .289%. I would be complaining but we've won almost every game so far. But lets see if my theory holds true when I start dumping points into my 3pt shooting...Last edited by Chef Matt; 02-25-2011, 10:24 AM.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
Started a My Player character right when I got NBA 2k11 (I'd never played an NBA game before) and it certainly led to an interesting experience.
6'8" 235 Scoring SF (yeah I designed him like LeBron)
Combine: Struggled greatly through the combine, but ended up getting drafted in the 2nd round by the Heat. I was pretty excited about that at the time because I figured I'd get a championship coming off of the bench.
Summer League: Did some more struggling in the summer league (I really couldn't get my shot timing down nor could I curb my turnovers) but fortunately made the roster.
1st NBA game @Boston: Unfortunately the Heat lose, but I get 5 or so minutes with the highlight being a block of Kevin Garnett. I end the game with 1 rebound and 1 block, a successful debut if you ask me.
9 games into the season: Despite the initial loss @Boston the Heat go on an 8 game win streak, topping the Power Rankings and Conference standings. I continue to increase play time, eventually becoming the 6th man off the bench with about 28 minutes per game. Unfortunately I can't quite figure out the shot timing (still) and I'm averaging around 7 ppg with a few rebounds/assists in there as well. I learn a few things during this time: 1. Chris Bosh is a stud shooter; 2. LeBron is a ball hog; 3. I love Dwayne Wade's dunks. The future looks bright in Miami for me.
Game @Cleveland: NBA 2k11 doesn't make a big deal out of it, but I'm excited for the game @Cleveland. I went into Shootaround mode to practice my shot timing (this was a really difficult concept for me) and after a bit I figure I've got it down well enough. I come off the bench 3 minutes into the game, and boy do I put on a show. I hit a three pointer on my first possession of the night, and things just clicked perfectly from there on out. I end up with 27 points and a few rebounds, receiving my first player of the game award and some complementary remarks during the press conference. Once again, the future in Miami looks bright.
About 20 or so games later: I still to this day don't know what happened, but the Heat absolutely fell apart. During this time I reach 33 minutes a game and average about 14 PPG (with a few double doubles mixed in thanks to my new found rebounding abilities), but the heat can't win a game against ANYBODY. Eventually I go down with an injury for a week, and after recovering I decide that 1. I really don't mesh with the Heat (other than Chris Bosh) and 2. I'll never crack the starting line up due to LeBron James. I do some thinking, and decide that I could start over Ron Artest, so I ask for a trade to the Lakers. While execs are working on getting me out we continue to lose and drop to 10 games below .500 at our lowest point. My future looks bleak.
Some time before the deadline: I lucked out big time and got traded to the Lakers for Derek Fisher (the Lakers proceed to pick up Luke Ridnour). I come off the bench for a week or so, but eventually I take Ron Artest's starting job. During this time I discover that I have an insanely good mid range game, and I crack 30 points for the first time. I get cheated out of the Rookie-Sophomore game (seriously... I was the #5 rookie in PPG and the #2 in rebounds, how the hell did I get passed over) but other than that the Lakers are clinging to the #1 seed in the West and I loving Pau Gasol as a give and go partner.
Lakers thoughts:
1. I love Pau
2. Kobe seems fine with me taking over the scoring load, but manages to still hit shots when I need him to
3. Bynum is pretty good, but I prefer Pau
4. Luke Ridnour sucks. I can't stand him as my point guard. He takes terrible terrible shots and never passes the ball well.
5. Lakers also traded for Varejao.... I still prefer Pau
Lakers start losing a lot of games, falling to 5th in the west, and I decide that I've become too much of a ball hog (I'm averaging 25 ppg or so since becoming a Laker but I'm also taking WAY too many shots). I try to cut back on my shots and start dishing more. Lakers win a ton of games to close the season without me ballhogging, I record a triple-double (still my one and only, 20 points 13 rebounds 10 assists), Lakers capture the #1 seed in the West, Kobe is named league MVP, and NBA title here I come.
Playoffs: Long story short, the Lakers get swept by the #8 seed Utah Jazz. I can't figure this one out either. I average 29 PPG in the playoffs, I double double 3/4 games, and I take a reasonable number of shots (barring the game 4 when I was just pissed off). Deron Williams tore us to shreds (Luke Ridnour sucks at defending too) and we lost all four games by under 10 points. Oh well, get ready for next season.
In hilarious irony the Heat win the title. Apparently they nearly won out after trading me for Derek Fisher. I guess they really hated me.
New season: New seasons starts off with a home loss to the Bulls and I only score 13 points..... whoops. I get my act together, and currently the Lakers are #2 in the West with a 20-9 record. I'm leading the league in scoring (29.1 ppg) along with 8.9 rpg (3.3 orpg... jeez). I've eclipsed the 50 point mark three times (including a 2OT game I had with the Hornets a few minutes ago, I had 52 points and 13 rebounds including a game saving offensive rebound off a Kobe miss with 2 seconds left that I layed up to send the game into double OT... great feeling). The future looks bright in Los Angeles (I know I've said that before haha)
More to come....Comment

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
When can I make trade suggestions because I am 24 games into 1st season and the knicks are
and we should be a lot better if we had a better PG because at the moment knicks have Raymond Felton is terrible as he takes bad shots, does not pass to me or any other player when they are open and he is averaging 6 assists a game however is only scoring only 8 points a game and if we had a better SF because even though Wilson Chandler is doing ok for us averaging around 11 points per game, the knicks back up SF and sixth man, Danilo Gallinari is also terrible, he keeps missing 3s, when he is inside he keeps missing and will never pass the ball and in our last game against the heat we lost 88 - 97, was a game we should have won if we had a decent PG and SF as my stats for the games was 48-10-8 (points-rebounds-Assists), Felton's stats were 0-4-5 and Gallinari stats were 2-7-5 as you can see both terrible and the only reason they had 5 assists each because they would pass to me and i would bang in the 3.
Also does any have any suggestion for players i should ask forComment
