Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)

well i decided to go ahead and make a new player, again lol, but make him a SF. since all my other players have been 2 PG's and a SG i wanted to try out the forward position. i tried to build him like LeBron(i know i will probably get hate for that lol) I made him 6'8 244lb and slashing playstyle. i thought slasher would be a good fit for me since i like to drive, cut, and move without the ball a lot. like i said i want to build him similar to lebron so i want him to be fast, quick, and strong and have a good inside game as well as mid range and pretty decent long range.

im getting ready to play my combine games, but i will probably half-a$$ them on 2 or 3 minute Q's and try to just do decent(like "B" team grade) so i can maybe land round 1 pick 20(spurs) or 29(magic) as they are both good fit for a SF. but with my luck i will probably land on my fav team, OKC, who already has a star SF lol

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)

Quick question: If I were to make a "faux-2012" roster (Current players gain one year of NBA experience and 2011 rookies are placed on predicted teams) and started a MP file with that roster, would I be able to play the draft combine with the new rookies and go through the ensuing draft with the new rookies?

Re: Your Myplayer Career (*** 2K11)

I am a 6'4 Scoring Point Guard, Rated: 64. I sim half the season and play the other half. Playoffs I only play Elimination games.

My first season I was drafted in the first round pick 26th by the Oklahoma City Thunder. I played 5 games with them and quickly requested a trade. For a number of reasons. I'm a point guard, they already have a star point guard in Russel Westbrook, And I kind of wanted to bring up a bad team whos been struggling for years. I ended getting traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Perfect fit for me a bad team with no star point guard. I played 20 straight games as soon as I got there and we ended up going 18-2 during that stretch. our starting line up was:

        PG- Mark Ingram ( Myplayer)
        SG- Wesely Johnson
        SF- Michael Beasely
        PF- Paul Millsap
        C- Kevin Love

So here we are a week before trade deadline and we are rolling. The CPU decides to trade Kevin Love for Pattrick Patterson from the Rockets. What a dumb trade. We instantly start to slump we finish the second half like 14-27 but still manage to make playoffs as a 7th Seed. In the playoffs we just got overpowered by an elite team of the Mavericks. We lost the series 4-1. I won Rookie of the year. My averages were 20ppg | 4rpg | 6 apg.

In the offseason I had 4 teams to choose to go too.

Chicago Bulls (was really tempting but again they already have a star PG)
San Antonio Spurs (probably would have been a good fit but just thought they were too old)
Detroit Pistons ( this team was just too bad didnt even have anyone over 75 rating)
Minnesota Timberwolves ( I choose to go back to my team mainly because everyones rating drastically went up, and they signed a Big Free Agent in Zach Randolph)

I just played the first game of the season and put up 37 Points, 13 assists , 7 rebounds , 2 steals.

        Our starting Lineup is:

        PG- Mark Ingram
        SG- Wesley Johnson
        SF- Michael Beasley
        PF- Patrick Patterson
        C- Zach Randolph

        Key Role Players:
        Johnny Flynn
        Marvin Williams
        Luke Ridnour
        Darko Milicic

Our Overall Team Rating went up drastically from 69 Rating Last Year too 80 Overall This year. I think we can do some real damage this year as I continue to get better each game and if we get 1 more big piece. Our quest to win a title is right there. Wish us luck

Also we got rid of our old coach during the offseason, I think it was Kurt Rambis. And we got Patrick Ewing for our coach! I had no idea you can grab other assistant coaches and make them your head coach. Awesome!

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)

so my 6'8 244lb SF was projected Rd1 pick 29 to orlando, where i really wanted to go. but instead i got taken 27(i think, maybe it was 28) to Memphis. i already have a PG who plays here and they have Rudy Gay so im gonna request a trade.

i think im gonna ask to go:
1.Orlando, they have dwight, 2 decent PG(Arenas is actually pretty good on 2k) and i could start over Hedo.
          2. Spurs, this is an older team with Duncan and Ginobli only having a few good years left in them, i could replace Jefferson and me and Parker could run the show.
          3. ??? maybe Golden State, although their arena colors may be enough to drive me away lol too bright, hurts my eyes. if you guys wanna suggest a place feel free, help is always appriciated

thats actually a pretty good lineup for the Wolves, randoloph is a beast but maybe a little short for C, i believe he is only 6'9. and i dont think the Patterson trade was too bad, i believe he actually deveops better than Love so it may pay out in a year or two

Definitely do not go to Golden State. Their court will give you a seizure. Why not go to the Bulls? You could start over Luol Deng. That would be a beast team. Derrick Rose, You, Carlos Boozer, Jokim Noah ? another team u could go to is the Clippers.

Yeah I was surprised to see Patterson go up to a 78 in his second year. Hes doing real well for me now. Zach Randolph is doing fine at center right now. Except he cant win a tipoff to save his life lol. And taller centers make him look like a girl. Like Yao Ming and Roy Hibbert.

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)

A great team to go to as a SF would be the Hawks. That is where I got traded to midway through my rookie season. After playing a few games as 6th man, I got the starting job.
The Starting Lineup was1st # is original rating, 2nd is 2nd season rating)
                    PG Joe Johnson (86) (89) +3
                    SG Jamal Crawford (72?) (76?) +4?
                    SF My Player (86?) (99) ----
                    PF Josh Smith (86) (89) +3
                    C Al Horford (82) (86) +4
                    Bench:
                    Mike Bibby (70?) (72?) +2?
                    Zaza Pachulia (??) (??)
                    Marcus Camby (??) (??)

Great team to play on. Josh Smith is a great inside scorer, and I got tons of assists passing it to him down low, especially in my 2nd season, when he was an 89, and in the 2nd season Horford was also a dominat inside player, and I racked up the assists (11-12 per game), mostly passing to Smith and Horford, Johnson didn't seem to be that good at shooting, only slashing, too streaky, so I sort of ignored him (he scored 12ppg, Smith got 16ppg, and Horford got 15 ppg, while Smith shot an amazing 63% for the season, and Horford shot 59%)

Great team, and really only needs a SF to be great, PG is a Star, SG can shoot the 3 ok, SF is you, PF is a Star, and C is a dominant inside force, and getting much better.

I did leave there after 2 seasons with championships, to go to the Heat, obviously a better team, but harder to start as a SF.

If you are a Star SF with an overall in the 90s, go to the Heat, and the starting roster will be:
                    PG Dwayne Wade (99)
                    SG LeBron James (99)
                    SF My Player (99)
                    PF Chris Bosh (84)
                    C Jermain Oneal (??)
Looking at this roster, there are 3 99 players, who are the 3 highest ranked players in the game for my player mode season 3, and Bosh can drain mid range jumpers all day, and Oneal is sort of just there, but is a good defensive and rebounding center, who can score ok down low, 3 players have stars by their names, and I think Bosh will have one next season.

Does anyone know if your player has a paid contract, and does it take up space on the teams budget or salary cap? If not, I feel a big time center, or at least a solid vetran, or a promising rookie, is bound to fill out the roster on this "dream team", and I can finally switch over from superstar to HOF, but on HOF I can still score in the 50-80 range, but I have too, nobody else can make it, and the other teams bench players can rain it down from everywhere everytime, but maybe we just need a center (currently 7-4 on Superstar with Heat)

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)

As to scoring 70pts on Superstar, it is quite easy after 2 seasons on all star to get rating up to 99, and max out stats, get used to mode.

Starting the season, my Athletic SF had maxed out stats in Offense, defense, and physical, and almost maxed out in mental, including max in O clutch, consistancy, and some others.

Easy ways to score include using dribble moves, (L2 and down on stick i think on PS3, this hesitation plus a 96 speed and quickness always allows my guy to blow past the defender to dunk, 99 dunk, vert, and layup). Also running to take a Kobe-like running midrange jumper with 98 shot medium, 96 shoot off dribble and in traffic, the jumper is a sure thing with a good release, also I get to the line for and ones around 6 times per game. With Wade, LeBron and Bosh, they help prevent any double teams, never get double teamed, and they are great passers too.

So... it is possible, just lots of time into it to get there, and I do shoot around 50 shots per game (make around 30), which brought LeBron down to 20ppg, Wade to 18ppg, and Bosh to 14ppg, Oneal to 9ppg.

Made an athletic 6'0" PG. Quite a challenge, but i found it extremely fun to play a shorter player that could dunk over big men like yao ming. I was drafted first round 23 pick to the Minnesota Timberwolves, but i was very disgusted by the fact that there are 3 point guards (including me) and none were bench warmers. i had to play shooting guard a lot and my minutes were going up too slowly, and i simply could not stand the fact that i cant help my team, so i requested a trade. i got my top pick and was traded to the lakers. i recently received the honor to call plays and i find it simply amazing. im now taking a more supportive role than a shooting role (like my small forward) and aiming for 20+ assists a game.

Now, for my teammates. Kobe is a beast in traffic and can shoot over 3 guys. Sadly, he likes to shoot his 3's and drive toward the paint and lose the ball. I fixed that with my playcalling though. Ron Artest is a backup version of Kobe in my game. He makes his shots and i have to say his 3's arent too bad either. For Pau and Andrew Bynum, i simply abuse them with the pick and roll. They can finish at the rim and sometimes OVER people too. Shannon Brown is a hero imo, just like how he is in my small forward's my player. Whenever the team is in a slump, he makes all his shots and turn the game around. I have to say Los Angeles is my new home. I plan on getting the 3 peat and beyond.

                          Sorry more questions :

Is there any point in raising def or off awareness (aren't they user controlled anyway?)?

                          and

Any point raising free throw (they already seem pretty easy and my rating is in the mid 30's but I'm shooting 85% so far)?

Any point raising free throw (they already seem pretty easy and my rating is in the mid 30's but I'm shooting 85% so far)?
I think when it comes to parts of gameplay that isnt controlled by user. I am talking about Double Teams and when you use modified defense(L1 or L2). With high ratings I am able to beat Double teams all the time and I havent fell on my face when I get crossed over.

I still havent boosted Free Throw yet(midway 2nd season). But I definitely boosting it next. So I will be able to make "slightly early and late" FTs more. I avg 66%(but I simmed some games early and never recovered from it).

                              I have a 74 ovr 3pt PG that I just unlocked dunking with, literally a 40 dunk 25 standing dunk and a 75 verticle

how high does my dunking need to be before I get packages other than rimgrazer

hmmm Bulls don't seem too bad, my only concern is will Rose still score just as much when im there? i would love to have me and Rose both doing great and both averaging 25+ per game but it seems like 2k decides to make your teamates suck, like my SG plays for New Orleans and CP3 does nothing, averages 5 ppg and wont even shoot while im on the court. but i may still put bulls in at choice 3 just as a backup incase magic and spurs are not interested. im not going to go to the Clippers because my PG already played there for a full season and a half and well i dont wanna play for the same team again, but i will consider the bulls.

also who do you think i should put as my first pick? Magic or Spurs? i want those teams as my top 2 places to go but im undecided which one.
