Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
well to max out everything would take a while, i have no idea exactly but i'd say around 4 seasons(?) just guessing though. but to get 99 OVR i'd say is possible in one season. in my first season as a PG i got 89 OVR(regular and post season) while pnly uprgrady Oand D awarness to 35 and missing a total of 17 games due to injury, if i would have played those games i would have been around 93 OVR im guessing and if i did awarness i could easily have been 99. plus i sucked terribly for my first 10-15 games so i hardly got any skill points.Comment

Re-Writing NBA Draft history with 6-6 sg/sf Scotty Thurman out of Arkansas (3pt specialist). Currently with Magic. With Hedo, JJ, QRich, and JRich there aren't alot of minutes to go around. I hate playing with Nelson as he is just a shot jacker of **** proportions. He looks off D.HO in the post constantly and would rather put up a contested 3 than pass 65-70% of the time. Using KG's roster with hex edits.(thanks KG). Only 7 games into my season...
I'd like to see 2k add positive points for running a diagrammed play correctly in 2k12 even if you don't get the rock.Last edited by NINJAK2; 06-16-2011, 07:43 PM.EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.Comment

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
If you chose a specific playstyle like Athletic, Scorer, Slasher, Rebounder, Defensive, than it will take a shorter period of time. If you chose All- Around(any position), it will take longerComment

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
My player was a 99 Overall, 99 offense, 99 defense, and 99 rebounding by the playoffs of my 2nd season, playing on all star, 12 min quarters, no simming. My 6'6" athletic SF averaged around 2000-2500 skill points per game, and I got all of the single game accomplishments, and all of the season ones except for the turnover ones. I also got the Jordan Shoe Deal, and the points for MVP, all star, etc. All of those were vital in getting my player to a 99 in every category. However, I did not start upgrading Awareness unill midway through my 2nd season, where my ratings shot up from 84-86, I think, to 99 in no time.
Id say you can get to 99 overall in 1.5 seasons on 12 min quarters on pro or all star, with upgrading awareness, but not in the first season, since other stats help much more with getting more skill points and putting up better numbers, meaning more total points for you, get up to the 80s, then upgrade awareness with the points you get for milestones and key games, thats how I did it.
Now not all player types can get to 99 Offense, Defense, and Rebounding, since PG and SGs can not get to 99 rebounding, at least I highly doubt it, and hope not, but sfs (athletic can, not sure about others), PFs, and C can get to the 99s, which would max out the 3 parts to the Rating Triangle on the player card (potential is stuck at 53 regardless of overall rating or anything else).
I'd say 2 seasons of 12 min quarters and no sims would get you to maxed out Overall, O, D, Reb, for your player type, and should also get you to maxed out shooting hexagon thing on player card for your stat caps and player type.
After 15 games into my 3rd season, now superstar, I have maxed out every single stat, while some are higher than the cap due to shoes and end of season progression, I am closing in on 10,000 career points, which will give me 10,000 sort of useless skill points for a maxed out player. (have 8653 career points)
My Stats: athletic SF 6'6"
99 Overall 99 Offense 99 Defense 99 Rebounding 53 Potential
90 Inside 98 medium 99 3pt 90 free throw 99 lay up 99 dunk
A+ in outside scoring, perimiter defense, iq
A in inside scoring, post defense, rebounding
A- in ball handle, athleticism (I created a player with 99 in every stat and he still had A- here, so go figure)
Can you do anything with skill points once you are maxed out?
I good idea for 2k12 could to use them to improve your teammates, now don't make them nearly as easy to upgrade, but maybe I can use them to improve my teammates inside shot for a C by 1 point every game, maybe not even that often, but in reality a good player makes his teammates better, and that should help boost their ratings faster.
Also, I was just messing around with My Player again, and messed around with heights, and there are realistic maximum and minimum heights for players by position, which I didn't knew existed, if they were always there, why do people worry about a 7' PG, or 7'5 SF? Since PG only goes up to like 6'7, and SF only to like 6'10, both of which have real players at that height, and even if a crew does put a 7'5 C or PF at PG or SG, they don't have speed, agility, handling, or passing to really play the position, so don't worry about that, and Online lags too much for PS3 on NBA 2k11, especially Pick Up Games, its almost slo-mo.Comment

check out this vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSK4Y-CK50s this guy explains how in his player he did a pick up game now on his regular roster in my player this 22 ft tall guy is stuck on it.
not all the hacks are this bad(22 ft tall) but a lot of people mod a 7'5 center to have speed of a PG, or a PG to be 7'0 and still just as fast then play pick up games and crew games and it sucksComment

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
Yes, height plays a huge role in skill points. You get the same points for Teammate grade, goals, etc, but performance differs based on player height for position.
Ratings Pts:
A+=900
A=750
A-=600
B+=450
B=300
C+=150
C=0
Highlight Plays x10pts
100 for O, D, and Team Objectives.
But my 6'6" SF gets around 1500 performance pts per game, then 750 or 900 for Teammate, around 150 for Highlights, and 200 or 300 for goals, plus or minus 100 for win or loss.
So I get anywhere from 2500 to 3000 per game, or 5000 to 6000 in Key Games. Also completing milestones in key games helps a lot, if my player wasn't maxed out i'd try to keep my 10,000 pt milestone (worth 10,000 pts) on a Key Game, so I can get an extra 10,000 skill points.
Maybe I get so many points because I play on All-Star and mostly Superstar, while scoring 65pts, 13reb, 7ast, 5stl, 2blk, and 60% shooting.
Also my 6'0" PG is only getting 2000 pts per game, (around 750 per game for Teammate, 200 for goals, 100 for win, and 1000 for performance)
However I am only scoring 50pts, 5reb, 1st, 2stl per game, so that explains 1000 vs 1500 despite being a shorter player.
My 7'5 C can dominate with like 40pts, 23reb, 5ast, 2stl, 4blk, and only get 1500 total skill points (900 teammate, 200 for goals, 100 for win, 100 for highlights, and like 200 for performance I think)
Now realize skill points go to making your player better, which height also does. Think about it, how likely is a 6'10 C to grab a board compared to a 7'5 one, thats 7 inches, or the difference between D. Wade and Dwight Howard, who has more rebounds. Also less likely to be blocked, more likely to block.
Most convincing argument is a 7'5 center with like 60 reb will probably grab more rebs than a 6'8" with 99 reb, and those tons of skill points you get for being shorter help make up for that. It also makes sense, do Shaq or Yao have good shooting or skills, no they are just huge, so they take longer to develop with ratings.Comment
