Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)

Had a bunch of great games. We were on a short two game losing streak. Both games started out the same way, the opposing team would get a large lead (20+), no one on the Jazz (my team) would be able to shoot, then after halftime they'd wake up and bring it to within single digits in the 3rd quarter, until finally taking the lead in the 4th before giving it back because of the lack of rebounding. It as hella fun.

One of these games a was a key matchup with Brandon Roy. He must of been pissed that we blew him out before because he lit me up for 28 points 7 boards and 7 assists.

Anyways, after another close game I learn from a press conference that I got elected as the rookie of the month! I answered arrogantly but was surprised at how professionally it sounded.

Then after a 31 point 12 assist game, I got elected as the "floor general." Which is good because i hate only being able to run plays correctly when I am subbed in at PG.

The Jazz are still on the doorstep of the playoffs through 38 games played.

Well, things continue to go horribly for our protagonist. In a "Key Game" against Durant, he decides to go for a 50 point milestone at the expense of the team. At halftime he's well on his way. The Natural has 24 to Durant's 26. Forcing the action a bit too much, The Natural sustains an injury to his leg (which drastically affects his mobility) to start the third.

The Natural plays horribly (doesn't even reach 40), and the Raptors get blown out. After examining the injury, the team decides to let The Natural play through the injury for the next 6 days, or sit out and have it heal for 3. The Natural decides to sit out. Motivated, and encouraged by not having "The Distraction" on the court, the team defeats the Knicks 99-106. They go on to lose the next one in Indiana without their "star", but still the rumors are out there that maybe it's not the team that's bad, but the star player who continues to play his own game.

The next game is against the Knicks and a returning Natural decides to prove a point and will his team to victory. He drops 35 points (15-20), 8 rebounds, 11 assists, and 2 turnovers, but it's not enough. The team loses to New York by 10. The drama continues. Below is a look at the team and player to date.

Is it just me, or does if you sim a game your player does bad? I'm averaging over 30 ppg, but I just simmed a game to see what would happen and he went 3 of 20 for 6 points in one game, 3 of 16 in the next for 6 again, and then 1 of 9 for 4 points (2 free throws). Then I played it and dropped 37 and 5 assists on 16-22 shooting. Apparently they don't like it when you sim.

Your player likely has pathetic ratings. Most My Players overachieve when controlled by the user.

Just finished a pick-up game! Though I lost and only earned 400 SP, it was fun, and I like playing against other players. I was a 45 overall (only played one game in the summer circuit) while the other guys were 54. 2 on 2.

            Stats were
            A+ rating, 18 pts, 7 rebs, 3 assists, 3 steals, and a block. (I'm a 6'6 SG)

My guy is only offense really, defense is terrible. So it's not that he has "pathetic" ratings.

About the shoe deal... I think one of the requirements for getting it is having an overall rating of 70 at least. Because, I was having monster games, been named player of the week and month consistently for a while, but didn't get the shoe deal until I increased my offensive/defensive awareness to boost my overall above 70. Right after I did that, I got the shoe deal. I'm not saying that it's the only requirement, but it's very likely that it's one of the requirements for getting the shoe deal.

How do you sim the games? When I started my player, I was looking for an option to sim, but couldn't find one. Is this a new update?

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)

My player just got his first injury today... severe ankle sprain right at the beginning of the game after the all-star game. I was out for 2 weeks, and my team lost 5 of 9 games. When I came back we were on a 3 game losing streak... I thought I could get us out of it... but I was wrong. I put up 32ppg 10rpg 7 apg in a game against Dallas, and we lost. The next game was against the Bobcats where I put up 25ppg, 8 rpg, 4 apg and we lost again bringing our losing streak to 5 (our longest losing streak). Stephen Jackson was killing me, he almost scored at will, especially during the third. I've noticed that it's getting ridiculously hard to keep a lead during the third lately, as most of my shots miss and my team commits a lot of turn overs leading to the opponent taking the lead. Is this because of the update?

Anyway, in the game against the Bobcats, we were down by 1 and were on a fast break during the last minute... I passed it to Ginobili right in front of the basket with no defender assuming he'd dunk it, but that idiot throws up an awkward looking shot and misses!!! WIDE OPEN!! and we lost!

I guess that could be it, it's at 72.
Not sure that would be that severe, though.

You actually have to do it manually. Once you're in the NBA, start the game, then Sim the rest of the game.

Wow no way. I was just considering how in the world I was going to go about searching this thread for an answer to that question. On a whim, I browsed the most recent posts and BAM, here's my answer. Thank you kind sir.

In other news, I think I made a little bit of a mistake. I created myself (all 6'4'' 168 pounds of me) and meant to be a point guard but I think I chose shooting guard instead. Am I screwed forever or is there a way I can change my position?

So, I join a good team, thinking that the Bucks simply were a bad shooting and playing team.

Nope. Suddenly, no one on the Jazz can hit a single shot. No one. Not even Deron Williams. They're getting blown out by the Nets, Raptors and other teams rated 28th in the league or lower.
