Why is my 6'1" 180lb SG getting consistent minutes at SF?

When I'm rotating between positions I see more minutes at SF then I do PG, witch makes absolutely no sense given my size.

I had a game where I had to guard LeBron for like an 11 minute stretch and got abused to no end.

I was also seeing minutes at PF in the draft combine too.

I'm only 4 games into the NBA season so I might just start over from scratch if I have to put up with playing these wacky positions.

I had this happen to me last year, I think it's because you didn't do well in the combine. That's the only thing I could think of, maybe someone else knows for sure.

I finished the season and just barely won MVP over Bryant. I made the all NBA first team, all defensive team and all rookie first team! Got a bunch of skill points (over 20 000!!). Now I'm an 83 overall.

Started the playoffs, facing the Blazers in the first round. The playoffs are noticeably harder than the regular season; and my team is noticeably dumber in the playoffs... giving up turnovers, missing wide open shots and not cutting to the basket. Duncan, with a high offensive/defensive awareness acts like an idiot on court: I pass him the ball down low in good post position when he's facing the basket with no defender and he does some fancy spin shot and misses! Similar mistakes happen throughout games.

I'm a SG and Roy is completely destroying me. I got my on-ball defense to 90 just so I can guard Roy in this series; although he has a tough time getting around me, he still shoots lights out with my hand in his face. We're leading the series 3-1, but that's only because I'm putting up ridiculous numbers... I just want to win a title and see what happens. Next up in the playoffs for us is the Lakers (very likely as they have a 3-1 lead over their matchup). I'm not looking forward to guarding Bryant... he torched me during the reg season.

Bah...the Ballad of Lance Law was going so well before that last freeze. 7 games in and Lance earned his Jordan Billboard. He celebrated by torching the Blazers in a Key game, leading the team with 25 pts and coming up with clutch baskets, free throws and assists down the stretch. I got double the points for over 3000+ and the damn thing froze. Dammit!

No biggie though. I was just going to dump it all into Vert and Shoot off Dribble to be done with it. That game would have made us 6-2. Hopefully we can beat them again.

they need to patch myplayer asap it shouldn't be like this where u lose no matter who u play with come on i got some good players on my team yet i can't score or play defense. i'm losing everygame by like 30 points. maybe as we get better our team get better but than it would suck b/c most people won't reach 70 overall until year 3

just had my best game of my career score 19 pts was going for 20 so i can get the sps by scoring 20 in a game but they moved me to sg at end i couldn't really get the ball. still lose by 40 points though y does this mode with so much potential be so damn flawed

Made the All-Star team as a reserve. Im a 6'10 PF averaging 22 pts a game and 14 rebounds. I play for the Thunder and are in the 4th seed.

I had this happen to me last year, I think it's because you didn't do well in the combine. That's the only thing I could think of, maybe someone else knows for sure.

It is happening so you actually get to play the game and not end up riding the pine your first whole year, once your overall gets better and you start putting up great numbers the time your playing out of position is greatly reduced.

they need to patch myplayer asap it shouldn't be like this where u lose no matter who u play with come on i got some good players on my team yet i can't score or play defense. i'm losing everygame by like 30 points. maybe as we get better our team get better but than it would suck b/c most people won't reach 70 overall until year 3

Bump up your stats then, if you were getting A+'s for your games you would know this isnt the case and plenty of people have stated as much also, your team will start to play better but dont expect them to carry you, thats not what the mode was intended for. Hitting a 70 before the end of the year is also easy enough if your playing well so you need to evaluate how your playing and what you can do better to earn some better points to get your guy beefed up a bit.

I can see PF, since they play Jeff Green there alot, But they have enough Centers so that my team grade doesn't go down every time my person gets beat in the post...

Just wanted to vent a little... I actually got through my first three games last night, all wins with OKC, and actually got over 10 points in a bench role, (not even 6th man yet). I usually never got over ten in my first attempt through the mode, as an SF Athletic build. Speed really does matter, Now if I can start making some jumpers, people might start jumping at my pump fakes like they did in Summer League and Combine

I spoke with Ronnie and the coaches being hired and fired after every game will be fixed in the patch. So get in all your arrogant answers for that now lol.

Okay, I definately need some advice. There's something wrong with my file for sure.

1. I tried requesting a trade several times while simming through the season. every time my trade request was denied. I tried picking teams that were interested, not interested, and I even left all the teams blank once. Nothing. The whole time, my minutes and role never changed.

2. At the end of the year, I was able to pick from three teams (Lakers, Hawks, Bobcats) as well as my original team. I went with the Hawks. I was still at 33 minutes a game and a 6th man. I requested a trade to Houston and got the same message after simming a bunch of games "Could not find a trade, try again later".

3. I saved right after game 81. I tried reloading it and simming up to free agency to see if the teams are different every time. Only every time I try and sim to free agency, the game freezes on the "simming offseason" screen.

I've been thinking that my file has been wonky (perhaps corrupt) and I don't know if it can even be patched. I've put So MUCH time into this guy that I don't want to start over, but i don't want this to be my future.

Any fixes for this? Right now I'm (very sadly) starting over. I've moved everything except my profile (I don't want to lose my Jordan stuff) onto a flash drive and am starting clean. My first My Player didn't have these problems.

I'm going to do one minute quarters to fly through the combine and summer league. The real game begins in the NBA anyway.

I'm just in a team that I needed with my PG. In the game 2, it was against Celtics - a Key Game. I get subbed in everytime at Point Guard, only sometimes I get at Shooting Guard.
We have 5-3 atm. Doing very well so far.

I'm 11 games in. Since I got drafted 25th overall by the Grizzlies and I was having a horrible time on their team, I demanded a trade 5 games in, setting my preferred destinations as the Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers, or the Portland Trail Blazers. Well, after the 10th game I finally got traded, but it was to the Jazz. Now as a point guard, that is not what I wanted to hear since I have no chance of surpassing Deron Williams for the starting point guard spot, ever. I played a game with them though and they play me early and often, I play a lot of shooting guard so Williams can stay in and we play together very well. That with Kirilenko, Hayward, Bell, and Jefferson, and we got a deadly team. First game I had 30 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists while Deron Williams got 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 10 assists. We completely blew out the Thunder, and it was the most fun I've had in My Player mode so far. I'm probably going to be with the Jazz for a while and definitely wouldn't be surprised to see us winning it all this year. Go Jazz!

How many points are you getting per game? Minutes per quarter? I was a 56 like 10 games in and if your 30 games in already on your second season there is more you can be doing per game to maximize your points.

Quick question... What is a good cpu sim time for like 8 minute user quarters? At the beginning of the season I wasnt playing much at all so I upped my quarter time to 12 (and the cpu sim to 11, im still leading the league in points against as the bucks). Now because of some injuries Im the 6th man and getting like 35 minutes a game.

Its just too long, Like this game im actually in the middle of right now ive been losing the entire time by 20 points on the road vs the jazz and I just wanna get it over with. Im thinking maybe 8 user minutes at 4 cpu minutes? My guy is still rated like under 50 and at this rate it will seriously take like a year to be rated a 60.
