Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
I am a 6'6 athletic point guard and got drafted 1st round 8th overall by the Clippers. I am the 6th man but we just cant seem to get it together with a 7-15 record so far and next up is the LakersComment

Last year if you turned on the notifications you will see them run more plays and it helps with knowing when (on D) they switch from man to zone so you dont have to totally rely on the blue arrow.Comment

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
Two draft combine games done, currently projected first round, pick 14.
I had a triple double in the first game and was projected 12th, so my stock fell a little.
I'd love to get into the Top 10, but I'm not sure what I'll have to pull off to get it (currently averaging 21-7-13 on 48% shooting)Comment

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
How in the hell are you guys getting such good progress? I first made a 6'4 scoring SG and got drafted in the 2nd round. Did terribly in summer league and got sent to the Dakota Wizards as a bench player. Couldn't do crap. Started anew as a 6'4 athletic SG but my overall rating is still a terrible 40; the only thing I can do reliably is set screens. What attributes are essential to getting better quickly?Last edited by Poochie D; 10-07-2010, 02:10 PM.Comment

The most important thing for me is hustle. You have to try for every rebound, stick to your matchup like glue, and on offense, let the other rookies make most of the work. They'll get open, you just have to throw it at the right time.
As far as scoring goes, I'm pretty good at shooting, so I focused on mid-range shot and off-the-dribble shooting. You just have to play to your strengths until you can get a ton of SPs later on and round out your player.
I'm a my player newbie, but that's what I've found, at least.Comment

I have a friend who is new to the mode and I have told him that he has the option to save and quit at anytime so if he is at say a B rating at the half then to save and quit so if he stinks it up in the second half and if he doesnt want to keep the progress he can reload the game from that point without having to play the whole game again.
A bit cheep but it can be a bit daunting at first and I can see it helping to take some of the frustration out of it when being a new player to the mode.
As far as getting your overall rating up you should put points into off and def awarness those two are the easiest to dump points into and boost your overall rating.
With you being a SG I would dump some points into your handles and passing as well as working on your shooting skills from the inside out (IE short range, med range) and adding points into your shot off dribble and shot in traffic, both of which are key unless your open all the time when you go to shoot.
Hope this helps a bit.Comment
