Yes, but this is different because it has a competitor (which non sports games don't tend to have) releasing a basketball game also around the same date.

So releasing too early or too late isn't good for the marketing of the product or it sales.

there's nothing scheduled. it probably was some humor. this whole tit for that thing is pointless. we know 2k is going to dominate in sales, if they did it this way, it'd sorta be like 2k8 vs live 08.

remember how when cp3 2k shots was released? and then ea realeased their cp3? thats because they were actually still competing.

I know they (ea)don't expect to win this year, so it would be pointless going back and forth like that.
