I watched that video day one is released and I know which part you talking about, I am just asking if you guys think this would be a problem not saying the problem is there and unfixed, I am just raising something that has been a HUGE problem for the past 3 years in 2K and just want to be 100% sure PIP will FINALLY no longer be a bug~
Big guys automatically get their positions down low, makes PIP still a problem?

Re: Big guys automatically get their positions down low, makes PIP still a problem?
Is there a link anywhere that has an in-depth list for post moves? I'm on my blackberry for the next couple of weeks so searching can be cumbersome and difficult.
I would also like to see shotstick stuff. I saw the isomotion sticky, but I heard the shot stick has deep options like choosing what hand to finish with etc.
ThanksComment

Look, I'm as excited for 2k11 as the next guy, but I'm sick of hearing this. These are things that have been noted for multiple iterations of the game. The "minor" issues are things like sock-eating calf-sleeves and uniforms hovering slightly over the body. Actual gameplay imbalances are relatively major issues.Comment

Heh, not trying to sound like an *** or anything, but it's pretty self explanatory...Is there a link anywhere that has an in-depth list for post moves? I'm on my blackberry for the next couple of weeks so searching can be cumbersome and difficult.

Shot stick towards basket = basic layup
Shot stick towards right hand = right handed layup
Shot stick towards left hand = left handed layup
Shot stick away from basket = runner/floater
The "deep options" you're referring too are the LT (L2) modifiers added this year.
LT + towards = eurostep
LT + left = hop step left
LT + right = hop step right
LT + away = spin layup

Re: Big guys automatically get their positions down low, makes PIP still a problem?
Well if casual fans are unnable to udmp the ball easily and score and dunk at will they mught not want to tuch this...But one of the concerns I have and nobody had talked about is the big men battle BEFORE I give them a pass, so let say I want Gasol to post up, I would press the play so he would go downlow isolated, however, I don't see any battle of him getting his postitions in front of garnett, in reality, they fight and fight and is really difficult JUST TO GIVE THE BIG THE BALL, and I really don't see that in this year's game, as a PG myself in reality, is really hard to get the ball down there cuz if the defender tries to front the big then I have to kick it to the guard on the side, and I really don't see that going on in this game even on higher levels in videos~
Why would you even want to make it an issue before you actually play the game? What if it is not an issue and your argumenst are baseless? You might be complaining about thin air. Just wait for it... (or believe DaCzar)Comment

Re: Big guys automatically get their positions down low, makes PIP still a problem?
That last sentence is soo true! the amount of stolen passes on this difficulty is crazy. in 2k10 almost all those passes would've been PIP.Yeah he seems to just keep talking without looking at the evidence...lol
I think it would be a bigger problem if the bigs weren't trying to get position down low automatically. I don't want my AI team mates wandering aimlessly. This is just good AI.
Don't expect the inside %s from the demo to hold true at higher difficulties. Even at default pro it's an improvement on any level of 2k10, that should tell you enough.
and Jeebs what do you mean you think its on Rookie?
There have been games where Celtics play incredible defense and at the same time score like 12 in the demo.
There is nothing in the 2k11 demo that screams out Rookie to me. compared to 2k10 its like Simulation all-star. lol"I'm addicted to Video Games, and i chase it with a little OS." -Winston ChurchillComment

Re: Big guys automatically get their positions down low, makes PIP still a problem?
hmm. i guess so, but what really can you do. The pro's make it look easy, but we all know its alot harder than how it looks. Plus 2k has boosted the AI to a point where they arent allowing you to get off passes that you may have got in nba2k10. But as long as i am seeing the point guard do a bounce pass away from the defender, or trying to lob it to the post, i can then believe that the defense is respected atleast. However you dont see alot of TO in the nba when guys are feeding it to a low post player, well i dont. But one of the concerns I have and nobody had talked about is the big men battle BEFORE I give them a pass, so let say I want Gasol to post up, I would press the play so he would go downlow isolated, however, I don't see any battle of him getting his postitions in front of garnett, in reality, they fight and fight and is really difficult JUST TO GIVE THE BIG THE BALL, and I really don't see that in this year's game, as a PG myself in reality, is really hard to get the ball down there cuz if the defender tries to front the big then I have to kick it to the guard on the side, and I really don't see that going on in this game even on higher levels in videos~Comment

What's even better than the increased pressure in the passing lanes is the ability to force misses consistently in the paint. That last sentence is soo true! the amount of stolen passes on this difficulty is crazy. in 2k10 almost all those passes would've been PIP.

I had the Celtics get 4 opportunities on one possession because of some lucky bounces, and I was able to force 4 misses under the basket, that NEVER would have happened in 2k10. I'm positive 3 of the 4 shots would have miraculously dropped.
I would even accept this default pro defense for online play after these last couple years. It was that bad! I'm really looking forward to seeing what the sim level plays like.Comment

Yup. I'm seeing much more defense and better shot percentages in 2k11's default pro than I did on 2k10s superstar. What's even better than the increased pressure in the passing lanes is the ability to force misses consistently in the paint.

It just feels too easy to do what I want. That last sentence is soo true! the amount of stolen passes on this difficulty is crazy. in 2k10 almost all those passes would've been PIP.

Re: Big guys automatically get their positions down low, makes PIP still a problem?
You raise an excellent point and yet again this is another issue that's plagued the series for years. It was a huge problem in 2k10. Live 10 was much better at this aspect of the game. All I can say is I hope it's not like this on the higher difficulty levels with the default sim sliders. But one of the concerns I have and nobody had talked about is the big men battle BEFORE I give them a pass, so let say I want Gasol to post up, I would press the play so he would go downlow isolated, however, I don't see any battle of him getting his postitions in front of garnett, in reality, they fight and fight and is really difficult JUST TO GIVE THE BIG THE BALL, and I really don't see that in this year's game, as a PG myself in reality, is really hard to get the ball down there cuz if the defender tries to front the big then I have to kick it to the guard on the side, and I really don't see that going on in this game even on higher levels in videos~Last edited by oOausarOo; 09-24-2010, 09:39 AM.Comment
