Question on final version of the game:
1. Is on-court players talking in the PS3 retail version? It was obvoiusly there in the 360 demo (saw videos on youtube), but that was not in the PS3 demo. Is it in?
2. Did floor reflections improve in PS3 retail? Comparing the demos, PS3's reflections were toned way down, hardly noticable (especially mid-court, where 360's is clear). Any improvement on this front for PS3?Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 Q&A (Those That Have it Early, Confirmed)
Some of you act like this kind of thing doesnt go on all the time. There is no comparing the two platforms in the game of baseball. If you bought 2k10 on release day, you paid 60 for a far inferior product (and we arent just talking a few jagged edges there). I mean I have wondered aloud for years how whomever makes price point decisons at 2k can allow the baseball product to go out for $60, but it happens and people buy it (or it happens because people buy it, whatever).
These games have to go out with the same price point for these minor issues that occur across platforms. How upset would you be if I paid $10 less because my game has some occasional jagged edges a slight delay that only happens once in a while. You'd be screaming for a few jaggies and a rebate.
Xbox players would have a whole field of baby cows. I know I would.
I mean seriously, I cant pay $10 more for better floor lighting and a few better textures. I got mouths to feed lol.
Also, there I am sure is a back end cost to fixing up the game. I dont know what's involved but I have a feeling it is more than game developers just being lazy. Its all about dollars and cents and if they fix my game as a PS3 owner , chances are that cost is getting spread to EVERYBODY.
Why the hell are you people against the idea of the ps3 version being equal with the 360 version in all aspects? That's all were asking for not a rebate or some PS Move feature.Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 Q&A (Those That Have it Early, Confirmed)
I understand but I just think some of the reaction or overreaction to what is being said about the PS3 version is somewhat hyperbolic.
The casual gamers arent going to notice or care and the hardcore guys know the issues and can make their purchase choices accordingly. If you are a PS3 owner, by all means, let yourself be heard on this issue but the fact is that the group of PS3 issues who 1) notice and 2) care enough to let it affect their buying decison is, and always will be minute. Maybe that is the point that is being made, that more people should care but it wont happen unless and until the gameplay or the game features are radically different in the two games.
There is no way that I personally am going to allow a few smoother textures on a game system that I dont even own keep me from getting one of the best if not the best sports game of the year.
I am not calling anyone out, I am using the word "you" in the general sense. To each his ownComment

I just want to know it isn't THAT bad in terms of difference. Jaggies, less reflection on floor, and lack of on court player talk, are all very noticable, and in every match you play. So I pose my questions again to baseballguy.

i believe if its as bad as people are saying and if there is a big uproar then they will release a ps3 patch to fix the graphics. i remember this happening for the ghostbusters game for the ps3, a lot of people complained that it looked way better on the 360 so atari released an update to clean up the graphics on the ps3. so again if it is a big problem and people make a big enough fuss over it on the forums 2k will have no choice but to release an update.Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 Q&A (Those That Have it Early, Confirmed)
I have one question and it's an important one to me.
In Association Mode, can you start to simulate a game and then intervene and play? Like, sim the first three quarters and play the fourth?
Thanks!Comment

Not to mention that there never will be any uproar. There never was any. And even in the rare cases where uproars do occur, companies tend to not acknowledge their existence. Or when they do, down play it as a minority.
Here is what 2K might say, if you ask them about PS3's being gimped: (most companies do this)
2K Sports is dedicated to delivering the best, most authentic experience of basketball in a video game. We believe that our game is the best on the market, and our loyal fans can atest to the quality and excellence of our games. We continue to improve on what is already the best basketball game every released on any console. It is the believe of the entire 2K team to release only the most polished and refined products, and we know that you will not find a better basketball gaming experience than NBA 2K11.
And this is supposed to have addressed the issue...Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 Q&A (Those That Have it Early, Confirmed)
Only 5 players???? That means they won't have the correct starting line-up. Ervin Johnson was the starting Center that year. This tells me that 2k skimped on the classic teams. Big letdown.
POST EDIT: wait???? They got Hawkins but not Mac 10???? Isn't he already in the game as a coach??? LAMEI just want to know it isn't THAT bad in terms of difference. If you have an opportunity all I would like to know is the trade logic of the CPU and the team building aspect of the CPU if it is what has been advertised you don't have to go into any details a simple yes or no would do for this question. Thanks in advance if you are able to answer this question.**A Fan of Louisiana**Born a Saints Fan, Became a Hornets Fan and Graduated a LSU FanComment

Re: NBA 2K11 Q&A (Those That Have it Early, Confirmed)
No, that can't happen. Patches can't fix everything, man. Graphical issues this severe, we're talking fundamental weakness in the engine, and the graphics data (eg. the textures included are simply not as good). A patch to fix textures, for example, would require replacing the raw data. Things like lighting can be tweak by the patch, but why were they not there in the first place? This is likely due to frame rate issues that will occur if the same reflections are on PS3; and that, would be an engine weakness. That'd be hard to patch.

If people will look at it this way then I guess we will not see a very polished 2k game for the ps3 in this current generation. What really pissed me off a little bit is that they had more time to add some PS Move features and they had no time to fix a very important detail in today's video game generation.Comment

That's a very bad news to me at least but hey at least its a very playable and enjoyable game in my opinion but I am still a little bit disappointed though.Comment
