You cant transfer music on to the 360 HD using a Flash drive.

I want to put the sounds/ music into the game. I have the 360 version. SO if I burn a disc, option 1 (are there any updates???), and then rip that too my 360. Where I get confused is with setting up playlist... Can somebody kinda explain that part? Thanks for any help.. and mucho thanks for all the hard work.
file option 1 isnt really set up for the xbox 360 ripping method. It has folders all over the place with tracks inside there. And none of them have mp3 tagging.

Go with file option #2. Via windows explorer or ITunes, you can sort the tracks by "ARTIST". which is basically a preliminary playlist.

Creating playlists on your xbox 360 dashboard is hard to explain. You basically learn as you go. You have all these new UNNAMED tracks, so youll need to either name them, or have them ripped a certain way (some people rip all of the same type of tracks onto one disc so its all in one place upon ripping). You will basically find a song or series of songs and press " add to current playlist". Then once youre playlist is finalized, you save it.

One tip. Upon ripping, you can edit the ALBUMs name of that cd-r. So if everything is GENERIC LONG. You will already have a named element on your system. And once that named element is there, you can click that entire folder and save that as a playlist instead of going song by song.

Edit album types in there and youll see
      ---------

aquaman, I tried in the first post explaining the ONLY METHODS of getting tracks into the 360. You cannot use a usb flashdrive. Its okay to listen. But youll need to go the above route with ripping audio cd-rs, or STREAM the music.. Personally ripping audio cd-rs is a truly GRUESOME and LONG task and with so much variety in this set, and the fact the tracks are unnamed when you rip them, leaves just too much work.

For audio cd-r ripping ,what I did last year that helped was I downloaded a program called LS FILE LIST GENERATOR. It'll create a text of all file names in a folder. So you do that for the entire NBA folder, set to alphabetical. And you now have every song that youll be ripping.

It's definitely not an easy method but all the hard work is done for you. I'd estimate 100+ hours went into this. Some of ya'll need to just experiment, troubleshoot and get something going. Last year, I just went full on with no experience or first hand knowledge at the beginning. I know ya'll want to make sure you're doing it the right way, but a lot of times, its easier to see and do something first hand through mistakes than to be told the correct method of doing it.
      -------------

aholbert, the last thing I tried last night on a mac was creating a m3u playlist on itunes. I then tried it on my pc Itunes and it still came out blank.

I think all those playlists just need to be hand crafted on your personal system. Because even if I saved them on a mac, the file structure may be different depending on where you save the files. Itunes m3u's appear to be working in ABSOLUTES when it comes to file location inside the m3u's.

Just sort by Artist and the playlists tend to be realized in that fashion

Does any PS3 game with custom audio use playlists that shuffle? I'm just worried that this might not be a bug, but rather a limitation of the PS3. I'm sure the guys at SCEA set up their custom sounds the way they did because they knew a playlist/shuffle option wouldn't work with the PS3.

            Hmmmm...

I just hope we can find a workaround or they can patch it. SO disappointed to hear about this, even though I know the rest of the game is outstanding.

But thats not even the really problem. Its not that songs are not shuffling. It's that it just that plays one song on the whole playlist plays over and over for the same event. A shuffle option would be awesome. But turning off the repeat the first option would open me back up to this feature. right now it sucks....

Thats what I've been thinking. It may be a system limitation and not a bug.

Limitation of the PS3, my a$$. Tell me if you can shuffle songs in the PS3 operation system without repeat, why can't this be done in the game?
Tell you why. Because of a badly written 360 port. They doing this since years now. Disgusting of 2ksports. Instead they add move and 3d, well who the hell wanna play with move and who the hell has 3d tv? And with all this they can't add shuffle to the custom tracks? LMFAO

"on hoping there is a PSN flash sale before Valentine's Day"
Man there are no flashers... now what are we going to do for vd
I'm sure there's plenty of prostitutes you could pay if you really want vd.
yea but will they take psn cards
Depends on what area of a hooker you would use to redeem them.

After you put the songs on the PS3. There are 2 way to create a playlist. One is from the music/songs it self.

The second way is by creating from the top of the music menu. Just go to playlist.

You might be right, but this is pretty shoddy logic. That's like saying, "well if you can browse the internet while in the XMB, why can't you while you are in-game?" Well, because they are two different things.

I'm pretty sure jeebs is right about Wipeout HD, though, because I remember using playlists for that game. I guess that is a glimmer of hope.

All we can do is let the 2K team know what the issue is and hope they can get a fix for it into one of the patches, if a fix is possible.

                              ^^Basically....^^

Unless we trip upon...some sort of workaround. I'm going to play around with it tonight.

I know Devs are hanging around here. I wish they could speak up. And give us some sort of comfort. I don't want to wait a few more months to find out that it can't be fixed or they are waiting for 2K12 to fix it. So please...someone.... anyone please say something. Even a PM would be nice. I won't say anything.

Also does anyone in the office use Ruben's files?
